Location: Cellar of a Ruined Forest Farmstead.  Post transcribed from chat.
Hi’el-Campsite: West of the burning farmstead about two miles, the Silenni warrior had previously led the minotaur and the other woman Trealina to the small valley with the stream running through it. Trealina's wound were treated with mundane means and a ...
Hi’el-Campsite: ...healing tea given her to help her rest and sleep. Riddik also was similarly treated at the campsite by the Shadoweir, and told to rest while he went to find out what happened to the woman Tessa and check on the burning farmstead.
Hi’el-Farmstead: Upon returning to the destroyed structure, Hi'el discovered the woman Tessa with an elven knight fight the last two giant undead at the cellar and getting his ass handed to him. The Silenni assisted with bow fire from edge of the forest to ...
Hi’el-Farmstead: ...help kill off the last beasties. They succeeded. As the Silenni prepared to lead Tessa and the newcomer Celebril to the safe site, a third warrior came to investigate the fire, Tararil. Celebril and Tararil brought up the rear as Hi'el...
Hi’el-Campsite: ...led Tessa to the campsite. There he began treating her wounds and gave her some of the tea to help her rest. Tessa, Riddik and Trealina are currently sleeping. The Shadoweir returns to the forests edge to bring in Tararil and Celebril.
Hi’el emerges from the forest edge and looks for the two newest fighters who'd come to check on the farmstead.
Tararil is riding on the horse with Cerebril, trying to have followed Hi’el as he led Tessa
Hi’el-Time: A little over two hours since dawn.
Hi’el meets the two warrior mounted on one horse and tells them "Come. The camp is this way. Not far. We'll tend to your wounds there."
Tararil nods as he sees Hi’el again and turns his horse to follow him
Hi’el leads them into the forest and deeper into the valley alongside the creek. As he goes he tells them "I've already treated the woman Tessa. Be warned a member of the party is a minotaur, so don't panic. I've got them all treated for wounds and resting."
Tararil nods to Hi’el, taking in his appearance also as the get to the creek
Tararil: (they are at the campsite now, or whatever?)
Hi’el takes them to the campsite, a small clearing with a stream close by. Already there is the woman Tessa's horse, and herself laid out on her bedroll sleeping. The minotaur also snoring away and one other woman similarly sleeping. Hi'el quietly says ...
Hi’el "Put your horse over there with the other one. Celebril you need to remove your armor so I can treat your wounds."
Celebril slides off the horse, landing on his better leg
Tararil nods lets Cerebril off and gets off also, pulling his horse to the other one and making it stay then walks back to Hi’el quietly
Riddik Is a7 ft tall black minataur. He wears little in clothing or armor, only wearing a loincloth at the moment. He has a set of daggers, and long swords nearby him.)
Tararil wears high, hard boots, a black cloak and grey tunic with trousers and hardleather armor over that
Hi’el helps Celebril remove his armor in preparation for treating his injuries (Hi Tessa).
Tessa (Hello)
Tararil: (your asleep on the ground lol)
Tessa (Good, cuz' with my HP I need it!)
Celebril (Celebril) is a half-elf, wearing a blue tunic, blue cloak, brown trousers, and was wearing field plate. Long straight blonde hair, light blue eyes
Tararil {Tararil}wears high, hard boots, a black cloak and grey tunic with trousers and hardleather armor over that*
Tararil is a full elf with long straight blonde hair and blue eyes as well
Tararil: (damnit you know who I am lol)
Hi’el uses up 5 bandages on Celebril gaining back 3 hps in the process.
Celebril: (8 hp)
Tessa is a petite, blonde haired, green eyed young woman of about 19. She is dressed in royal blue mage robes, belted with a silver rope. She wears high, soft, kidskin boots...and usually looks the part of a debutante, when not covered in undead slime.
Hi’el sits down after that and lays back against a tree to rest.
Hi’el-Game: Tararil and Celebril actions?
Tararil looks down at the sleeping people, seeing Tessa and Trealina and the minotaur, taking a look around the campsite
Celebril (getting ready to introduce myself and get everyone's name)
Celebril: My thanks for the bandaging, but I don't have everyone's name. I'm celebril, and the rest of you are?
Hi’el tells him "The rest of them are sleeping and not likely to give you their names."
Tararil shakes his head at Cerebril and laughs quietly
Celebril: I've forgotten your name
Hi’el points and tells him "That one is Riddik (minotaur), Tessa you already know, that's Trealina, and I'm Hi'el Troiye."
Celebril: well, been interesting meeting all of you
Hi’el looks over at Tararil, and asks "You got the guard duty. You" looks at Celebril "should get some rest and save the introductions for later."
Tararil: of course I do
Celebril: chuckles, "not going to argue with that"
Tararil nods to Hi’el a bit and sits down on a big rock, unsheathing his bastard sword
Celebril leans against a tree, wraps himself in his cloak and goes into a wary sleep
Tararil thinks to himself "I just hope the minotaur doesn’t wake up and think me of bad intentions"
Hi’el-Time Warp: Close to 8 hours go by. Its mid-afternoon approximately 2pm.
Hi’el-Game: Due to the tea given each of the sleeper no dreams were had to ensure their sleep would be restful and resulting 2hps back to each of the party members.
Tararil has stayed wide awake, having to put himself in discomforting positions to keep himself awake on his watch
Tessa sleeps like the dead and wakes up feeling surprisingly rested.
Riddik snorts and yawn as he turns over. He opens a weary eye looking over the campsite. He sees that everyone is still alive, and even notices a couple new visitors. He sits up groaning from his sore wounds, but grateful to Hi’el for the bandages.
Tararil stands, with his bastard sword in hand, still looking around, until they all wake
Celebril slept shallowly, the movement wakes him from his slumber
Tessa yawns widely and blinks at the afternoon sunshine. She rubs her eyes and pops her neck, looking around sleepily at everyone. She looks over at Tararil. "I don't guess there's any tarbean tea?" she asks wistfully.
Hi’el gets up and stretches his limbs bending down to touch his hooves with a groan. He straightens and shakes himself then pulls out a rug to begin making prayers to his deity.
Riddik stands up, and stretches to his full height. He then looks to the new arrivals and nods a snort their way. Then reaches down to retrieve his weapons, and strap them back on.
Tararil: (I’m playing Tararil everyone....)
Celebril stands a bit shakily, and begins the long process of strapping back on the field plate
Tessa sighs and nods to herself. That would have been too much to hope for, no doubt. She notices the Shadoweir begin his prayers and then pulls out her spell book, deciding she should study before the day gets too late.
Tararil: Cerebril, need help?
Celebril: yeah, help me get this can back on
Tararil smiles and sheaths his sword and goes over, helping Cerebril put his filed plate back on
Riddik waits quietly for Hi’el to finish his prayers, keeping vigilant watch as everyone prepares.
Hi’el prays for about thirty minutes then stands up and comes back to the party. He looks at everyone and pulls out something to eat while the others finish with their business.
Tessa reads her blue lather bound tome and practices the gestures and mouths the words to herself, tuning out all distractions in her study of the Arcane. The sunlight shines brightly on her blonde locks, turning the parts that are not gooped to spun gold.
Riddik looks to Hi’el..."We made it another day. What’s the plan?"
Celebril by the time Hi’el's done, Celebril's fully armored, has his weapons strapped on and has resituated the cloak over the armor
Hi’el nods and replies "That's what we need to determine next. I have my duty, but they are not bound by my orders."
Tararil slumps down at a tree as he waits for everyone to get ready, loving to hear the quiet rustle of everyone readying up
Riddik Then we head back to Elmshade and warn them then? Or are you wanting to investigate this more?"
Tessa finishes studying about 40 minutes later and puts her spell book away. She stands and stretches her lithe form a little, looking at the others. "I want a bath," she informs them all. "And I'm not fond of the idea of fighting more of those...things." Tessa shudders and then sighs. "But I don't think we should wait until sundown to take care of the rest of them...if there are more."
Tararil looks at Tessa and smiles
Hi’el seeing that everyone is ready, he announces "We have about four hours until darkness. I know for certain there are still some undead in the cellar. They need to be destroyed. If its only two we can take them out and be on our way back to Elmshade."
Tararil: (brb)
Riddik nods snorting..."I was afraid you were gonna say that. Ok. Lets get to it while there’s still light left."
Celebril nods slowly at everyone's response "So back into the fray, I wouldn't have it any other way"
Tessa nods miserably, then pulls forth 5 small beads which she shows the others. "These are beads that explode upon impact. They deal heavy fire damage, which seems to hurt them. If you want me to use them, then all of you need to be out of the way. Just so
Tessa you know." she finishes, getting ready to ride with the rest of them, much as she dislikes the idea.
Tararil: (back)
Hi’el nods and says "Let us finish this." He turns and lopes back toward the farmstead. The main house is a smoking ruins nothing left.
Tararil stands up and runs over to his horse, mounting it quickly and brings it to Cerebril
Celebril drags himself onto the back of the horse
Riddik follows Hi’el, keeping his sword in hand and ready.
Tararil helps Cerebril up then follows Hi’el and Riddik, keeping all his equipment away for now
Hi’el runs smooth and easily as only a Silenni can and covers the 2 miles to the farmstead in just eight minutes. He stops at the ruins of the cellar to wait for everyone to gather.
Tessa follows the others on her horse, and reins him in close to where the others are grouped. She ties her horse to a tree and approaches the others, looking nonplussed, but determined.
Riddik trods along at a casual pace, keeping watch around himself at all times. He arrives next to Hi’el and stops, still looking around.(Observation, Alertness)
Tararil gets up to Hi’el and Riddik after a while and looks down at them
Hi’el-Game: Riddik roll a %.
Riddik: 34%))
Hi’el-Observation: As Hi'el and Riddik stand at the entrance to the cellar, the minotaur notices that there look like paw prints as of a dog or wolf entering the cellar.
Hi’el looks around at the others, and nervously tells them "Its going to be tight in there I expect and dark. Torches or lamps?"
Tararil: Come now Cerebril get off...
Tessa looks hard at Hi'el. "Torches," she says firmly. "Definitely something with fire."
Celebril slides off the back of the horse and takes the morningstar off his back
Tessa: (brb)
Riddik kneels down and examines the prints...."It looks like dog, or wolf tracks."
Tararil gets off his horse afterwards and takes him along with Tessa's horse, tieing his horse close then walks over to the cellar entrance
Tararil: Hmmm well since I am not hurt at all do you think I should go in first?
Hi’el looks down at the minotaur, and crouches next to what he's found. The Silenni looks up and says "Wolf, big went into the cellar 7 hours ago."
Celebril: describe big, lycan big?
Hi’el shrugs and stands up, saying "Doubtful, only 90lbs."
Tessa: (back)
Tessa frowns, hearing them mention wolves and remembering her encounter with the black wolf...THAT was a big wolf...hmmm...
Riddik stands and looks to Hi’el. So its an undead wolf. We'll destroy it too."
Hi’el looks at Tararil, and waves his hand toward the burnt opening of the cellar saying "After you. No sense standing on propriety we’re just wasting time."
Tararil nods and unsheathes his sword and takes out his shield, heading down the cellar slowly "I will need someone to help me with the light"
Tessa "Well I wanna go last. I don't wanna go down there anyway..." she whines. "Actually...how about if I wait up here and get any that come out here?" she smiles hopefully at them.
Hi’el looks at Tessa and asks "You have torches? Let's get them lit up if we're going in there."
Tararil stays just enough out of the cellar so he can see and so someone will come right after him to help with the lighting
Riddik I don’t need light to see, maybe I should go first.
Tessa sighs and nods, taking out a torch and hands it to Hi'el. I"I don't know how to light it." she says with a shrug.
Tararil looks back at Riddik and nods, stepping out of the way so Riddik can pass
Riddik thuds a powerful stomp, and snorts a low bass growl....then steps down the steps slowly..watching for any movement.
Hi’el ignores the torch and heads to the entrance of the cellar. He pulls out his saber and dagger, and follows the minotaur into the cellar.
Tararil lets Hi’el pass and shrugs looking at Cerebril and Tessa
Celebril: Wouldn't happen to have any flint would you?
Riddik sniffs the air as he moves. Detect prey by scent 50%)
Tessa looks after them blankly and then throws the torch down. "Well fine, why did you ask me if I had any, then?" she asks snottily, watching the others go down into the cellar and crossing her arms over her chest, looking offended.
Tararil gets out of the cellar, putting his things down and takes out a flint
Tararil: (some flint a flint* whatever works)
Tessa looks over at Celebril and shakes her head. "No, I don't usually carry things like that, unless they're spell components." she says.
Tararil: Hmmm you must be from some royalty or noble person or something aren’t you?
Celebril: looks like tararil has some

Riddik felt the warmth of Hiels healing spells flow through his body, relieving the pain from his wounds, and loosening his stiff joints. He opens his eyes to look at Hiel, a look of thanks crosses his features tward the Sellini. However he hadnt the chance for the words to come out of his mouth before Hiel tugged at him to stand up from the floor. Riddik grunted as he finally raised to his hooves, standing shakily. He looks around, trying to clear his vision, and senses at the same time. He notices the bodies of the adventurers that entered this death trap with him, and wondered just how close he came to joining them.
Hiels voice snaps him out of it, and he looks to the cieling and support structure. It was old, and built for humans... easily broken. "Yes Hiel. I will try." Getting out of here sounded good to the minotaur, and he would give it his best shot. He walked tward the steps they entered the cellar on, and looked around for a way to get out without bringing the entire house down on their heads. He looks back to Hiel... "Any ideas how to go about doing this?"

((OOC: Ok fine. However I dont know what condition the celler is in, or how to go about getting us out. Are the steps gone?))

Tessa nodded and held up the now full bag. "Got it," she replied. Needing no further excuse to leave the cellar, the beautiful young woman nearly bolted up the stairs and out into the fresh evening air. She quickly made her way to the horses, and pulled a length of rope from her own mount's saddlebags, then looked over at the knight's dead horse with a disgusted wrinkle of her pert nose. She sighed unhappily and made her way over to it, knelt near the carcass, rummaging through its saddlebags in search of more rope. After a couple of minutes, she found what she was looking for and pulled the rope out. She had also found a few other items in the bags and grabbed them as well, thinking, well...he certainly won't be needing them any longer. Taking everything back to her horse, Tessa laid both ropes over his saddle and stowed the other things in the saddlebag. She leaned her slim frame against the horse and looked back towards the dark cellar opening with a mixture of fear and disgust. Her worried green eyes glanced up at the steadily darkening sky and she called out to Hi'el and Riddik, "Hurry up! It's gonna be dark soon!"

Riddik does just as hes told, he turns tward the exit and bolts outside. Once outside he heaves his horned head up into the air, and inhales deeply while looking around. Sniffing the air, he doesnt smell any immediate threat outside. He scanns the area getting his bearings again, and recognises the forest edge they first entered here. (Direction Sense.) He then digs his hooves deep into the earth as he takes off at a run tward the forest edge. He keeps his sword out as he runns... just in case.

Tessa saw Riddik exit and sniff the air, then take off at a somewhat groggy run towards the village.  She heard Hi'el's annoyed shouting and winced, grabbing the ropes and sprinting back to the cellar. She peered into the darkness from the top of the ramp, not wanting to go back down there, and scrunching her face unhappily. "Here...here it is!" she yelled down to him, sighing and trying to be brave, she brought both ropes and headed into the cellar once more, her green eyes darting back and forth nervously. She could barely make out the Selenni, who looked none too happy with her, standing impatiently. She handed him both ropes with a contrite half smile and asked, "Do you want me to tie anything?"

~ ~ ~ The Silenni swiftly takes the rope from Tessa at the base of the ramp, and feeling the tell-tale signs of an iminent attack of claustrobia, quickly ties the two ropes together with an overhand knot then a large loop at one end with another overhand knot.  Starting to breathing a little more rapidly through flaring nostrils as the walls seem to begin their inexorable grinding advance, Hi'el desperately looks at her with the whites of his eyes beginning to show.  He hands her the free end with the loop, and with his ears laid back and through gritted teeth, hoarsely tells her, "Back the horse up to the cellar entrance.  Settle the loop over the horse's head and neck upon his shoulders.  Run a second loop about the saddle horn."  He turns, his tail snapping from side to side in distress, and rapidly begins tying off the rope at the junctures of the cross beams and the supports, starting with the ones nearest the exit and working his way deeper into the cellar. ~ ~ ~

Tessa did as she was told, trying not to let Hi'el's nervous demeanor effect her. She knew panic was a catchy thing, and they were both already spooked enough. Grabbing the other ends of the ropes, she ran back up into the blessed daylight and softly clucked her tongue at both horses, trying to get them moving. Her dark grey horse, Tempest, did as she wanted, but the other one balked, dancing in place and stubbornly trying to evade her grasp. "Oh, Come ON!" she growled through clenched teeth, finally catching hold of the difficult animal’s reins.

Keeping both horses even, she tied the ropes as Hi’el bade, around the neck and shoulders of her horse, then around the pommel of the saddle, and then repeated the process with the second rope around the other horse. ((Rope use: rolled....13...that makes it)) She stepped back, studying her knots with a critical eye. They looked sturdy enough to her and she stood in front of the horses, urging them backwards with soft clicks and noises, trying to get them to back up. When she had gotten them in place, she called down into the darkness, "They’re ready, Hi’el! C’mon, let’s get out of here!" Her voice was full of worry and her expression anxious as she impatiently waited for him to appear from the depths of the cellar.

(Riddik, at first alittle lost, takes the scenic route but safely makes it back to Elmshade circa 9pm; nothing cross his track or troubles his passage.)

~ ~ ~ Racing from the cellar, Hi'el bounces off the hindquarters of Tempest, and sent staggering backward, almost falls to the ground.  He leans over, and retches a few times, his sides heaving from the effort and his face damp with fear sweat.  Swallowing hard, the Silenni stands up, and blinking rapidly, sucks in several deep draughts of air, his chest rising and falling with the panting rythym.  He slowly turns to Tessa, and walks over to her, hoarsely saying "Mount up.  We're leaving.  Stand in the stirrups until the rope rips the braces out of the cellar then cut the rope."  He looks up at the sun, shading his eyes with his hands, and tells Tessa "Four hours until sunset, full darkness an hour after that.  No stopping except to switch mounts every half hour.  It will be a hard ride.  Hold tight."  Hi'el, the scent of his equine sweat strong in her nostrils, waits for her to mount up with a spare length of rope to spook her steeds into a quick charge.  The rope would snap taut about twenty paces from the cellar ripping out the deepest support. Five paces later, the next would go and then five paces after that, the last would go. ~ ~ ~

She nodded, though she paused to study him briefly. "Hi'el," she questioned gently. "Are you alright?" The frown remained to marr her beauty, but she mounted Tempest expertly, making sure the spare horse was securely tied to his saddle. "Hiyah!" she prodded the huge, grey gelding, who responded immediately and sprang into action, not expecting the sudden weight as the rope drew taut. The other horse followed suit, used to being a pack animal and following another lead horse. Tempest  whinned his displeasure at the sudden strain against him, but Tessa goaded him and soothed him at the same time, kicking at his flanks and leaning forward to coax him with soft words.....

The rope stretched tight and there came a sudden, splintering sound as the first of the supports gave way. The other horse was straining, too, its muscles bunching in effort. Another crrrrrack! The second post was broken...."Geehahhh! C'mon, Tempest, you can do it, keep going!" Tessa pursuaded her horse, who gave his all. There was at last a third and final crumbling sound, and then the ground began to shake as the house began to collapse upon itself, the structures supporting the anchor points of it gone. Tessa quickly halted the animals, dismounted, and used her dagger to cut the ropes that had been tied to the beams, but left the one that bound both horses together. She looked over at Hi'el and sighed, feeling weary before they had even begun the journey back to the village. Again, she mounted Tempest and prepared herself for a long, exhausting ride.

Location: Returning to Elmshade from a burnt out farmstead. Arriving circa 6 pm.

~ ~ ~ Hi'el nod to Tess then moves forward to where she sat mounted on her horse, and with a quick eye, checks each of the cinches on the two horses.  He also checks there hooves, and once satisfied that nothing would stop or slow them before they began, turns the west-southwest jogging away from the destroyed farmhouse.  He slowly picks up speed to the point where his hooves are flashing over the ground with each long league eating striding.  Tessa's light riding horse could easily out distance the Silenni, but by keeping them at a trot she was easily able to keep up with her companion, who was running all out back towards the safety of Elmshade.  As he'd explained to her, every thirty minutes he stopped to let Tessa switch mounts and merely stood by sweating and lightly panting as she did so. Throughout the remainder of the afternoon, the pair travelled dodging through the forest until the Silenni led her out on to the east west merchant trail passing near where they made better time back to Elmshade. ~ ~ ~

Although the semi-frequent rests helped some, by the time they made the village, Tessa was wrung. Her body ached from riding all day, and there were beginning to be small smudges under her eyes from lack of decent sleep and stress. Her long, blonde hair was matted and oily, having not been washed in a couple of days, and her attire was covered in road dust and other unspeakable things. The relief at arriving back in Elmshade again and the prospect of a hot bath and warm bed made her feel a little better. She slowed Tempest and the other horse and trotted them to the Twisted Root, tying them off at the stable yard post.

Tessa dismounted with all the enthusiasm she could muster and waited as Hiel made his way over to her. She quickly examined her appearance and then gave a small, very unhappy sigh. She looked nothing close to the gorgeous debutante she was, and this upset her quite a bit. "I dunno about you, Hi'el, but I need a bath, a glass of wine and a soft bed, in that order," she told him, running a slender hand through her hair and wincing as the fingers caught in the tangles. Her voice was anything but steady and she seemed ready to cry, whether from exhaustion, stress from having to fight undead, her disheaveled appearance, or a combination of all three.

She reached into the saddlebag and pulled out the sack of things she had collected from the cellar floor, holding it up to show him. "I'll look through this after awhile unless you want to examine the contents first. And we need to send a message to the Temple or the Towers or wherever in this backwater place to let them know about the undead." With a stoic expression, she turned and began to make her way towards the Inn, sniffling quietly and trying to hide her dejected state from the perceptive Shadoweir.

She turned to face him and said, "Yes, I'll...I'll be fine, Hi'el," though the look in her deep green eyes and the tear that slid from the corner of one said differently. She clenched her teeth and forced a small smile for his benefit, swallowing against her foul mood. "I just need to get clean again, and get some rest. Tomorrow sounds fine," she said quietly, glancing down. Then she met his gaze again and her half smile seemed a little stronger. "You get some sleep, too, my friend." Without thinking about it, Tessa suddenly hugged him and though it was brief, it was a tender hug full of thanks. She slipped from his surprised grasp and quickly made her way into the Inn, looking around for Jarlosh or Holga.
