Diedra had finally put the final touches to the decór of the place. She had begun to go back into the cottage in order to get some other things she had brought for the dinner when she felt Raven's prescence near. She smiled to herself and before he had even finished knocking on the door, she opened the door. She smiled to Raven, ushering him in.

"Well hello my friend. It's good to see you here."

She looks out and walks out to Raja, and pets her lovingly. Putting her face to Raja's muzzle, she rubs noses with the large cat. She then whispers:

"It's good to see you too lovely one."

She walks back towards the cottage and walks in. She closes the door and speaks to Raven as she walks towards the back of the cottage.

"Raven, we are having it outdoors, so come on. You got here just in time for the festivities."

As they walk out the back door, Diedra speaks out to the others.

"The great mage of the Ivory Tower has arrived. Now the party can begin."

She smiles then starts to laugh, as not everyone has arrived as of yet.

Araon sets the plate down and looks at Arienne "Just my great steaks!" He smiles and goes around looking at the decorations and waits for others to come.  He hears Diedra talking to Raven and goes over to hide behind the back door, waiting for Diedra and Raven to come back outside.

Raven smiled and hugged Diedra after ushering him inside... "Diedra! Its wonderful to see you too." Raja of course loves the attention, and being familiar with Diedra for many years now... thinks of her as family. Her deep purr acknowledges the fact as Diedra rubs her ears.
Once back inside she tells Raven about the gathering being held out back. "Ugh! Thank goodness! I didnt see anyone inside, and was worried I missed it." He sets RuneStaff in the corner of the cottage living room, and carries the basket out the backdoor, following Diedra. Raven steps outside and sees everyone gathered, and the yard looking like a party exploded in it. "Hello everyone! Everything looks great! I brought the Faerie Wine and made some Kender loaf. I hope it will be enough..." He scanns around the area spotting Arienne and Lita, but doesnt see Araon anywhere. He hears Diedra comment on his arrival and how the party can now begin. He frown and looks to her... "You know I dont like being called that. Im not Great, nor am I anyones Master, so please Diedra. Besides the honors tonight go to only one person I know...." Raven looks around again smiling as he sets down the basket on the table outside... "Where is our beloved Mayor anyway?"

Lita walked up and sat the food down on an empty table and then sat on a bench as she started to feel faint slightly.  She sat down before dizziness overtook her and then she regained her composure.  She walked up to Araon and smiled.  "Congratulation my friend on your honored position.  I am sorry that my brother could not be here, he had other matters to attend to in the East."

Lita said and as he reached out to shake her hand, she conjured a white box in it.  A medium sized box, with white paper and blue ribbon.  " Just a little momento of my friendship always."

Araon comes out from behind the door "Ahhhh I was found out, darn" He smirks and does hold out his hand to Lita and sees the box she conjugated into it and smiles "Thank you Lita, you wont mind if I open it later, after the party is over will you?" He goes in after she nods and puts it in a place he will remember to get it before she leaves and comes back out hugging Lita and moving over to Raven "Well since you dont like master can I call you servant?" He laughhs jokingly and pats his back "Well set you basket down and set up, we still need more guests to arrive, some of the owners from stores and what not, this is a gathering to get to know everyone.... yeah" He walks back over to Lita and takes her hand smiling "You know you didnt have to get me anything, and giving me gifts are going to sway me either way" He smiles and hugs her again

" It was just something that I wanted to give before I move to my new place." She said as she smiled.  " Araon, do you remember the old oaken circle?"  He nods and she continues, " Well, the Goddess has blessed me with a new home in there, through her graces, I was able to uncover the magical circle and created a sky manor on a floating island.  But you must not say anything yet, It is a surprize, until the field is dispelled.

(this will be done in another thread.)

" And you know that I do not like persuasion on a guy, unless your handsome,  cute and full of information." She winks playfully, " Well,  other than you." She smiles and hugs him again and then goes to entertain the children with magical tricks and games while the others set up.

Raven laughed along with Araon and the others, taking a joke at his expense. He buisied himself to help prepare the tables and area. His Kenderloaf was still steaming warm, gooey and sticky sweet. He advised not opening the Faerie Wine until ready to serve, it had the tendancy to evaporate quickly in millions of tiny bubbles.

Soon after ward three carriages rounded the corner and pulled up to Araons cottage one by one....

The first carriage had the family crest, and buisness symbol of  Jack Turner. The local Elmshade cattle rancher. Jack was an older human gentleman, having been a widower for nearly five years now. He would often visit the Twisted Root, and flirt with the ladies. Tonight however he wore his finest green silken cloths, also embroidered with his crest. He wanted to look his best tonight during the dinner with the new Mayor. His driver/herald knocked on the door, and announced Master Jack Turners arrival.

The second carriage was more eligant in design, that of the elves in fact. It was laced with vines and leaves, and even adorned with living vines of grapes here and there. The elven family crest of the O'Connels adorned the side door. The driver helped Fredrick, and his wife Clair, down from the carriage and escorted them to the door of the cottage. Both were dressed in fine elven cloths befitting their heritage, and wore dazzling jewely. The O'Connels were one of the wealthiest families in Elmshade and it showed with their posessions. They kept their distance from the rude and dirty human Jack Turner, often finding the man repulsive and disgusting.

The third carriage pulled up looking normal compared to the other two. The buisness symbol of the local Orchards emblazoned the side, and that was all the decoration it had. The driver stopped in front of the cottage and opened the door to the carriage. The owner of the local Orchards stepped out to look at the others gathered. Miles Kentac was a buisness smart human, and also one of the most wealthiest. His even rivaled the riches of the O'Connels. However Miles was a simple farming man, and didnt.... 'dress up all fancy like!' He was more conservative, deciding to wear his good leathers, and not the field ones to the dinner. His wife had to force him to take a bath and clean up a little before meeting the new mayor. He walked up to the enterance of the cottage and nodded to the others politely, waiting for admittance to dine with the new mayor.

Raven chuckles at Araon, realizing his surprise was spoiled by Lita. He pats Araon on the shouder when he walks up to him, and laughs at what Araon says. "Well... yes. Your now a servant to Elmshade like myself, a title I am happy to hold with you Araon."
Raven then goes around greeting the others out behind the cottage. He makes sure to greet everyone with a smile, and get into some leasure conversation. Lita, Arienne, and Diedra recieve some brief casual converstion from the white wizard. He refuses to talk of buisness matters, unless it has to deal with the new Mayor, Araon. Not long after that he hears the approaching carriages, and finds himself a confortable seat. Preparing for the start of the evenings dinner. He was curiouse to see how Araon would handle some of the nobles tonight.
Raja remained hidden, prowling through the underbrush to weed out any party crashers. She moved with the stealth of a breeze as she patrolled the perimeter of the cottage clearing.

Araon looks around as the party begins to start, smiling to himself and watching his friends have a good time and begin to hear more carriages approaching his house and excuses himself from his current conversation and walks through his house to the front door also hearing a herald announcing some then opens the door to see four new guests.  "Ah! Welcome! Welcome! Please follow me, the party is out back, I am glad you could make it" Araon smiles then bows and slowly turns to lead them to the back, letting their herald announce them and looking at Raven smiling, his back to the newcomers for a second to see if Raven had any disgruntles of the new guests. To see if any of them would be a problem or just werent real 'grand' in the eyes of his friend which he trusts and understands that Raven has the low down on most of the people in Elmshade, but after getting a quick read on Raven's face he turns to watch how they enter the party.

Raven assists Araon in greeting the guests. He assures the new Mayor that these are some of the more successful nobles of Elmshade, and shouldnt be a problem for him. Raven even descreetly jestures Diedra, Lita, and Arienne to greet the guests, and help them to feel comfortable. However, Raven leaves most of the talking to Araon.... and refuses to help him too much. He seems to want Araon to get to know the nobles on his own terms, and settle into his role as Mayor of Elmshade. Raven does however make himself quite useful in serving drinks, and keeping casual conversation with everyone.

(this post is aside anything she is doing at the temple, and before her power sealing)

Lita was having fun amuzing the children with her magical tricks.  She noticed that others were gathering around and she passed a quick glance at Aaron and smiled.  She then continued to entertain the children, allowing the others to set up for the party.

Diedra watches as the people come and begin to enjoy themselves. Being the great cook that she is, she smiles to Araon, letting him know she's got the kitchen covered. She moves the meat on the grill, and chatters nicely with the people around her. She looks at Lita and smiles, the children reminding her of her own at home. She mentally checks up on then, and then continues to chattering away with the other guests that have arrived. Soon the food is complete, and she turns to Araon. Using her mental link, she speaks with him.

"Araon, everything is ready so if you want to go ahead and let them take seats we can begin to serve the food."

She looks over to him and smiles.

Arienne kept up appearances and smiled, chatting politely with the other guests as they arrived and approached her. When Araon became side-tracked with greeting everyone, the elven sorceress took the chance to slip to the edge of the lawn and float into one of the lower branches of a tree.  Comfortably perched there, she relaxed a little and watched the goings on below. When the food was done and it was truly time for dinner, she would come down and mingle again, but for now, she was quite content to simply watch the people. Arienne had never been much for crowds of any kind and although most of those below were people she considered 'friends', and some of them quite dear, living alone in her tower for so long had acclimated her to finding comfort in solitude. She cast a longing glance through the leaves towards her tower, wondering how long the affair tonight would last. At least Araon is happy, she thought, turning her pale blue eyes back to the party below. It's good that the village can recognize him in such a way and make him some new friends.

Araon smiles at everone he greets and talks to, trying to only talk personally, not business-like but some things come out that they must talk about so he can get the low down on everything and he walks around, entertaining his guests and then hears Diedra's voice inside his head telling him the food is ready then he walks over to his bow and takes an arrow that has something on the tip which covers the arrow head and he then lights the arrow and it begins to burn and he shoots the arrow into a circle that holds a little bit of logs and straw to burn, cut off buy stones so nothing else burns and as everyone turns to watch then turn back to him, wondering why he did it he just smiled and shrugged "Foods ready"

Jack Turner claps, along with the other guests at the display of marksmanship by the new Mayor Araon. He was apparently pretty good with a bow, and jack was sure to tell him... "YEEAALLP!! That.. There was a good shot! Un dat aint the best of it. I hears ourm esteemed mayor is also a village hero, even has connections with the local mages. Da Finity or somethin..." He points smiling to Raven, Diedra and Arienne across the table. Raven nods laughing.... "Yes something like that?"
The O'Connels seem to be the nervouse bunch this evening, they tend to be jumpy when Jack sloshes his drinks around their expensive cloths. They still bare it like troopers as they scrounge up a smile when ever they get close to him.... "We've known all about the Elmshade family for years here. Your family is one of the founding nobles and we are honored to have you as the new Mayor. It is quite fitting." Miss OConnel screams as Mr Kentac reaches over to show Araon a slimey snail... "Ye servin these fer dinner?! I found this one gittin away on the ground!" Mr OConnel holds his wife as she almost feints when the snail is dropped in her lap.... Mr Kentac appologizes.... "Oh?! Im sooo sorry...." .. then he reaches down to get it. The wail was heard for miles...
Those were some of the beginning highlights of the dinner. Of course many of the guests want to know more about Araon and his goals for the village... so he ends up speaking a lot, giving his opinion and ideas, and generally keeping the guests entertained... and away from each other. They also freely talk to Diedra, Arienne, and Lita whenever they can. They are always interested in meeting a Trinity Mage, or Elmshade Hero.
Raven helps where he can... casting simple clean cantrips, and mend spells when needed. Most importantly he keeps the guests interested in Araon, and keeping them occupied like the others were doing a fine job at. He also smiles, winks, and pats the others on the shoulder, letting them know hes enjoying their company as well.
