The road-weary group drew-up in front of what seemed to be a tavern.  The sign said "Twisted Root".  Slowly the slight figure of a girl slipped from her mount and handed the reins to the bald man.  "Wait here, Uncle.  I'll get us a room."  Dusting herself off, she entered.  In the darkened interior, she paused a moment ...

Ascellina walks up to the bar and waits to be noticed by the barkeep.

"Good-morrow, Lady" she says in a voice quiet enough to be ignored.

The big, newly be-haired Barkeep (thanks to Gideon) suddenly pops up from behind the bar, and pauses to look at both the ladies standing vicinity his bar.  The mug he'd been polishing forgotten in his hands.  After a moments perusal/leer, mainly at the dual sword wielding lass (Haniko), Jarlosh asks "Whadda ya want?" looking back and forth between the women as he resumes polishing the already clean mug.

A room, sir, for a party of 4.  And space in your stable for a wagon.

Do you have any opening for an entertainer for the evening crowd?

Haniko looks to the woman standing next to her and nods hello to her. Smelling the air around her. The smell of still air, Ale and The open road hung around the tavern and the girl. She shrugs to herself and looks to Jarlosh. "eggs, fresh bread, butter, and some juice if you have it Jarlosh."She speaks with a thick japanese accent with broken common mixed with the language. which can be hard to understand. She places 5 gold on the bar. She takes a seat on one of the stoods and pulls her katana, still shiethed, out of her sash and leans it against the front of the bar under the bar top next to her bag which she also just placed on the floor. She leaned her arms and hands on the bartop. Steel Oriental Gauntlets adorn each of her arms. On her right hand a golden ring rests on her ring finger and a golden braclet adorns each of her wrists, both identical in size and make.
Haniko hears her talk to the barkeep about being an entertainer and smiles. "ahh If you don mine me asking miss. What kind ov intertainment do you perform." She questions the girl.

The Barkeep, out across the common room toward the opening for the kitchen, quickly yells  "Holga!  Breakfast!"  He then turns to the woman, and tells her "Look we don't have no 4 person rooms.  But if'in yer a plan to ave people sleep on the floor, then ya can use one of the larger suites.  Otherwise, you'll have to double up in two rooms."   Jarlosh looks thoughtful a moment, befoe saying "I'll give ya a try.  You're welcome to entertain tonight, but don't expect any pay for doing so unlessin I likes what I hear.  You keep what you get from the customers." and then asks "So what's it to be two rooms or a large suite?"

"Ahh, music. very good. I ave don manya Kabuki play an noh teader. this sound good." she smiled kindly to the bard. she placed her hands together and bowed. "Haniko Karou." she introduced herself.
As Haniko introduced herself another girl came down from the upstairs. Her hair and cloths neatly combed and no wrinkles in her long flowing white robes. She is a half-elven girl in appearance of about 17 years of age. In her hand a rune covered short staff with a large diamond on the top. She yawned placing a hand up to cover her mouth. Her long black braided hair was over her shoulder as she walked down. She came over and took a seat by Haniko.
"Haniko, why did you let me sleep so long?" She asked
"Oh, I aporogize. but i waz hungry. so, i came don fo breakfast. I figgad you would vant to sleep afta yestaday." Haniko replied. The girl looked over the orientals shoulder and saw her friend. She then looked to Haniko.
"Haniko, who is your friend?" She asked.
"She isa Entataina." Haniko replied. The girl nodded and extended her hand to the woman.
     "Dawn. and you are?"

((ooc: this can help you with message board posts if you would like the hand. unless you perfer to write just short little posts, it helps the character become more indepth if you describe things more.describe her thoughts, her actions, even something as far as just toying with her hair. this is just an idea to help you along, unless this is how you perfer to post.))

Lady Haniko, it is my pleasure.  Lady Dawn.  Perhaps we con converse once I have settled my family?  We are late of Norwood.  She turns to the barkeep to finish the matter at hand, remembering her family is still waiting for her outside.

Ascellina thinks to herself, once we have settled I must tune my instrument and make ready for my performance tonight.  So much rides on this!  To begin a new life in a new place.  And this is only HALF of it.  I wonder if these two ladies could direct me to a magic user in need of an assistant?

[ooc - still learning my way, sorry.  Still not happy about how my character looks.  Have to consult my niece RE HTML-stuff.  giggle.]

Holga, the big, hulking, UGLY wench, comes 'strutting' out of the kitchen area a carrying the aforementioned breakfast.  Somehow the barmaid knew what WAS ORDERED, and sets down the platter of eggs, fresh bread, butter, and some juice.  In her drawling southern accent, she exclaims "There ya go, darlin." to Haniko, and proceeds back into the kitchen.

Meanwhile Jarlosh ponders a moment, his brow furrowed as he figures out the complex math regarding the question of cost, before telling the missy "Ah, fer the suite that'll be 3 gold a day.  Fer the two rooms, that'll be a gold a day.  Yer cart ya can put aside the stables, and its a gold per horse per day in the stables."  The barkeep looks expectantly at the would-be entertainer for her answer.

Haniko pulled a pair of chop sticks out of her left sleave. She broke off a piece of bread with them and ate it. Then going to a piece of egg. She took a look at the butter, just rembering that she forgot to ask that the butter be hot she gives a gaze to Dawn. "Ladie Dawn, could you melt da butta please." she gave a slight bow. Dawns gaze turned to the bowl of fresh butter. She picked it up and muttered a few incantations and the butter quickly melted in the bowl.
"I wish you would remember to ask when they take your order." Dawn said giving the bowl back to Haniko who hastily dipped a piece of bread in the liquid butter with the chop sticks and ate it. Dawn looked at the woman and then at Jarlosh. she pulled out a small sac and tossed it on the bar, it skid and landed with a small chink. "I believe that should cover the funds needed for them to stay here for atleast tonight." Dawn smirked slightly and stood up. "Haniko, i'm going home. give me the key to the house. i have some writting in my spell book to cover. Before you leave, grab my bag upstairs." She grabbed her staff and Haniko handed her both of the gold bracelets off of her wrists. Dawn took them and turned to leave. Haniko ate another piece of egg.

((ooc: 30 gold in bag.  Just another helpful note. when you give character dialog. could you please use Quotation marks(" ") so i know when your done talking and when you start. this is a big help. thanks))

Jarlosh takes the bag, and empties it out on the counter.  The Barkeep quickly counts up the coins, and says "Huh, there's a nough coin here to keep them for a little over a week.  Here's your room keys... rooms 47 and 48... go up the stairs, and hang a left at the top.  Welcome to the Twisted Root.  Enjoy your stay."

"Sounds very fair.  Two rooms, then, and we have 3 horses.  I have a small cat and did you notice the two dogs?  They are friendly, house broken and will protect our privacy at night."  She reaches for her belt pouch and pulls out 5 gold, bouncing them in her hand.  "Is there a fee for the animals?"  Ascellina places the sum on the bar.

"Once we have settled in our rooms, we'll have breakfast.  I'll be ready to start playing at dark."

"Three horse, huh. Uh, you'll still be good for a week's time." answers Jarlosh after a momentary hesitation to refigure the cost.  At the mention of animals, the Barkeep merely says "No fee.  Just be sure Holga doesn't get to friendly with em, or they'll likely wind up in the stew pot." and begins sliding away the coins into the coffer.  The big man nods his head, saying "Yeah, sure, sure.  Come on down once you're settled."
