Rashwen had spent far too many moons away from her Ari. The mating fire had come upon her when they were about to leave another place and she had to answer. Flying amongst the trees daring the males to catch her...and the unthinkable happened. She was caught!

Force by nature to stay and clutch even as her mage bond with her Ari streched and pulled and slowly faded. The moment she could leave her young, she did, struggling to find her mage once more.

Rashwen had found this place, brought here buy the pull of her bond. Landing on the ground she looked about, clearly exhausted.

Location:  Enroute between from the Trinity Dias (33) to the Ruins of Alliance of the Faiths Temple (14), Elmshade;
Time:  Evening (D+1 after the Temple's Destruction);

~ ~ ~ Following the orders of the Great Druidess Aer'ie Van'Zant, the human warrior, Jericho, vassal and loyal follower, along with humongous Dire Wolf Tawny left the ruins of the Alliance of the Faiths Temple, and retraced their steps back to the Dias of the Trinity, their arrival point.  The 5'8" Warrior dressed in plate mail armor is dwarfed by Tawny who, as big as the largest draft horse, pads ahead of the man zigzagging back and forth with her nose to the ground to pick up any scents.  The armored man carries a sword and a morning star, one at each hip, and easily bears the weight of the armor and weapons without encumbrance.  Upon Jericho's arrival at the Dias, the last of daylight fades, bathing the landscape in darkness. ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ Tawny pads around the Dias checking for new scents since they'd been there only an hour or so earlier.  Mean while, Jericho digs out of his pack a lantern, and proceeds to light it with his flint and tinder.  After several moments of clicking away, the Warrior lights the lamp with a piece of tinder, and holds up the lamp, lighting up the surrounding area in a 30' radius.  An evening breeze, an early precursor to a building storm, gently blows out of the north-northeast, and hisses through the trees of the surrounding forest.  With the Dire Wolf guarding the area around the Dias, the human lowers the lamp, and in a regular volume of his baritone voice, starts talking to himself saying "Rosa, are you there?"  A silver piece clinks down onto the marble surface of the Dias in answer.  With assurance that the Arch-Druidess still monitors their arrival point through the Mirror of Mental Prowess from Mornbryn's Shield, the follower continues with his report speaking to thin air "Aer'ie wants continuous observation of the arrival point at +15.  She also wants you to mobilize and assemble the Stone Giants, the Centaurs, the Galeb Duhr, the Sky Riders and their Giant Eagles, Hippogriffs and Pegasi, the Unicorns, and the Others, and reconvene the Circle of the Druids to organize them and counter any meddling with the weather now before this night passes.  Next report, barring any emergencies, will be at day break.  Did you understand everything in my report?"  Another silver piece clinks down.  The Warrior nods, and give the thumbs up sign before heading back to the Ruins of the Alliance of the Faiths Temple to find Aer'ie Van'Zant with Tawny leading the way. ~ ~ ~

The  pseudodragon  walked on the ground clumsy as such creatures are. She found some water and drank from the puddle. Turning her head about she tried to find where the pull to her heart was leading her, and the tiny creature stumbled landing on her chest. Rashwen regained her feet, determined to find her Ari. Lifting her nose, she scented the wind, and whimpered softly.

With the coming of the wet-heavy-cold white she need to find a hollow, someplace to stay warm.Lifting her wings, Rashwen attempted to take flight once more and just found herself too worn to do so. The tiny creature gathered her formidable will, and focused hard, making the attempt once more. Her attempt succeed, only to have her come down, crashing loudly into the bramble that had been but a few wingspans away.

Then Rashwen heard the noise, and lifting up her head she scented those approaching. They held a strange scent, and there was no scent of her Ari about them. She relied on instict alone in trying to contact the one with the bright shiny.

      ~Help,Help.Help!!!~

The faint plea was tainted with exhaustion, as though the creature calling had not long without aid.

From the Sparring Fields, which were a little over a mile from Rashwen's location, the one whom the psuedo-dragon sought was deeply enmeshed in serious talks with two very important people.

Arienne was waiting for some sort of response from Amagato when she felt a small, very faint tug in her mind. It felt familiar to her, like a link that had been gone for quite awhile, now, suddenly spark back into life. In fact, it felt like...the silver elf shook her head to herself as if unbelieving. Rashwen? she thought. It can't be, after so long...but...

But the presence felt known, none-the-less, and Arienne would know that feeling anywhere. Her small psuedo-dragon friend had been missing for so long that Arienne had thought her gone forever, but...that feeling...

Her blue eyes narrowed and focused again on Gillette, wondering if he was somehow trying to manipulate her thoughts, but she couldn't prove her suspicions yet.

For just a moment she thought..~AriAriAriAri!!!~ trying hard she floundered but a few steps before toppling once more. ~Ari HelpHelpAri~

The faint mindvoice was broadcasting openly now, uncaring who and what else may hear her.

Marina wrapped herself tightly in her blue cloak against the chill. A newcomer to the lands She looked around at the unfamiliar woods and poked her fire with a long stick to get it some more air. Her tan horse, Black Magic slept quietly under its thick wool blanket. She put the remaining logs on the fire as she felt herself drift towards the open arms of sleep.

Fallon, Marina's Psudodragon crawled out of her bag on Black Magic and sniffed at the air. The smell of another of her kind. She crawled out of her pack like a lomg lizard and poked her head under Marina's arm. "Lady Marina... Lady Marina, wake up my lady." As Marina started to wake up they heard the mental scream of the creature.
"What was that?" Marina said sitting up.
"I'm not sure my lady, but i believe it may be another dragon like me. We should go and see." Fallon said As Marina woke up and grabbed he long staff. and woke up Black Magic.
"come, lets see if we can find the little creature." Marina says on her way towards the direction she belives the creature could have been.

~ ~ ~ More aware of the surroundings by sight, sound and scent than the human, the huge Dire Wolf curiously zeroes in on something of interest to her, and with ear tensely perked forward, takes an alert posture intently staring at some bramble bushes growing along the river.  Tawny gives a throaty deep growl at the hiding creature, and then wuffs over her shoulder at the clueless two-legger behind her to draw his attention to their possible dinner meal. ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ Carrying the lamp at his side, the platemail clad Warrior slowly follows the path leading away from the Trinity Dias in the wake of the Dire Wolf, and comes up behind her when she assumes her tense pouncing posture.  Jericho, knowing Tawny as he does, grips the pummel of his long sword, and lifting up the lamp, circles wide around her flank to come at whatever she'd found from the side.  The armored man with the lantern lifted high slowly approaches until he can make out what's caught her attention, and jumps back startled, giving a small cry "Gaaa!" when the thing in the bushes starts thrashing about. ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ Automatically, like any wild wolf, Tawny growls at the sudden motion, her nose wrinkling, and lunges forward intent on snapping up the small morsel. ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ Thankfully, Jericho, needed to get closer to figure out what was lurking in the brush than the Dire Wolf, and is able to intervene when whatever it is starts mentally broadcasting pleas for help.  The Warrior, knowing if the thing attempted to flee would trigger pursuit, strongly shouts "Tawny!  Stop!  I'ye!" and stops her a hairsbreadth away from snapping her jaws shut on the Psuedodragon and shaking her like a dog's playtoy.  The man knows only the Great Druidess commands the full loyalty and trust of the Dire Wolf as another of her followers, so very cautiously tells her "Tawny!  Find Aer'ie!  Where's Aer'ie?  Go get her!  Get Aer'ie!" ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ Thoroughly trained to respond to certain commands, the Dire Wolf looks away from her newest 'playtoy' at the mention of her Mistress, and at the goading of the Warrior, bounds away after a moment's hesitation into the darkness seeking the Great Druidess. ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ Releasing a sigh of relief, Jericho returns his attention to the miniature dragon, and after a moment's pause of his own to regard the find, asks "Alright come out little morsel.  The big bad wolf has gone." ~ ~ ~

Weak as Rashwen was, as the snarly-growly beast charged her, she brought up her tail and hissed at it. Her claws were extened, and her wings came up slightly.

Then the bright-shiny one caught the snarly-growly beast and sent it away. Her body relaxed, and her poisonous tail came back down, curling about her body.

Cautiously she emerged from the bramble, her step unsteady. Flexing her head back on her long neck she looked up at the bright-shiny one. The usual rich variated reds of her hide were dulled into a common mud brown. It was very obvious that the tiny one had flown far by how extremely lean she was, as though she barely took time to hunt to feed herself. The back legs that supported her wobbled, and without the added help from the brambles she simply dropped to her haunches on the ground.

Rashwen knew she had to tell the bright shiny one what she needed. Reaching out once more with her mind voice she 'spoke'. ~Need find Ari-Mage. Help?~ There was a pitiful sound to her voice as she spoke.

~ ~ ~ Not fully cognizant of her mental voice during her first attempts perhaps due to distance and the steel helmet upon his head, the Warrior finally puts two and two together, and connects the small plaintive voice to the bedraggled dragonet.  The man crouches down, flexing at the knees, and seeing the quite desperate condition of the Pseudodragon, figures the little one could probably use a lift.  Jericho mistakenly wonders why let alone how the miniature dragon knew to come to this small village in search of his Mistress, and tells the small one "Looks like you've come a long way, Little one.  You must bear important news."  The human gathers his cloak into a hamock for the dragonet, and tells her "Come climb into my cloak.  I will take you to Aer'ie." ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ No sooner does the Warrior pronounce those fateful words than the Bane of all Flying Creatures shows up as if by magic, but in truth merely horrifically bad timing.  The hyper-energetic Pixie, Cher'ie, another follower of the Great Druidess, suddenly appears directly between Jericho and the Pseudodragon.  Rapidly beating her beautiful wings and excitedly clapping her hands together, Cher'ie cries in ecstatic glee, "Oh!  She's precious!!!  What a beautiful Pseudodragon!!!" and zips down to the ground in front of her, touching down.  The miniature 1' tall woman like a wildly spinning top pokes and prods the little dragonet examining her front and rear claws, each of her wings, even her dangerous tail, and lastly her neck and head.  The Pixie coos at the wretched shape of the poor Forest Dragon, and plants a kiss on the tip of her snout before demanding of the human "Well!  Just don't stand there gawking!  Carry us to Aer'ie!!  She's in bad shape!!"  Cher'ie throws her arms around the neck of the dragonet, and tightly hugs her saying "Don't you worry, Beautiful!  I'll take good care of you." ~ ~ ~

She climbed into the cloak, trembling now from too much energy spent, and not enough restored. Closing her eyes, Rashwen rested, knowing that soon, very soon she would be with her Ari.

The pixie's arrival changed all that as she began to examine the psuedodragon without even a asking. Roused from her bare moments rest, Rashwen hissed in annoyance, and tried to snap at the Pixie.

It was then that she began to catch an image of who they intended to take her to, and she struggled out of the cloak, her weak mindvoice projecting for any to hear. ~~NO!NO!NO! ARI-MAGE!!~~

Feeling as though she had no choice the tiny dragon reach hard using the last reservors of her hoarded energy to project a clear image of who she needed.

Rashwen made a soft heart-rendering sound as she use the prescious energy to show them the mage. Then completely spent, the little one simply toppled over onto the forest floor with one last mindcall.

    ~~Ari...~~

She still breathed, but the utter exhaustion of the travel and soul-sickness of a Familar seperated from her mage finally claimed their full  payment.

~ ~ ~ At the sudden appearance of the Pixie, the Bright Shiny One audibly groans, "Oh Goddess, not her!" and when she starts getting a little too personal with the protesting drake, objects "Here now!  Leave off, ya blasted wannabe butterfly!  I'm taking her to Aer'ie!  Now see what ya've done!  Ya've disturbed her.  Huh?"  The man blinks at the flash of mental image sent to him, not recognizing the face of the Elven Woman, and when Rashwen crumples in exhaustion, forgets his anger at the willy-nilly Ms. Caregiver.  The Warrior plucks the dragonet from the ground, wrapping her in his cloak, and ignoring the Pixie's tirade, once more sets off for the ruins of the temple to find his Mistress. ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ Like a pair of squabbling siblings, Cher'ie sticks her blue tongue out at the human as the Pseudodragon scramble at out of the cloak, and smartly retorts "Ha!  She just has good taste, and know's better than to trust a human!"  When the mental image flashes into her mind, the Pixie exclaims "Hey!  I recognize her!  Aer'ie and the others are going to find her at the burnt symbol grounds." and then gasps as the dragonet collapses to the ground.  The Fey Woman looks up at the man, and in accusation spits "No look what you've done!  She's dead.  You killed her!" flying after Jericho as he carries the exhausted Familar back to the temple ruins. ~ ~ ~
