The Twisted Roots Inn

Mornings in Elmshade are often said to be undescribably beautiful. The mist from the farms and open lands start to settle with the morning light. The vast fields of wild flowers and the gorgeous sunrise over the hill. A cock crows in the distance and cuts the silence of the morning. Soon the bustling of the villages market starts with the various crops and products sold by the merchants start there sales. The Twisted Roots Inn started off there interesting morning by serving its tenants the breakfast they paid for the prievious night when they get there rooms. As the party comes out of there rooms and downstairs they find it busy with farmers, merchants and a few adventuerers that was seen the prievious night.
As Raymund comes downstairs Jarlosh looks his way and calls him over. "Hey there youngin, Come on over here." He looks over to him and hands him a small paper wrapped parcel. On the parcel is a letter with Raymund Ordelias  scribbled on it in fine hand writing. Taking a seat the old waitress Holga approches the table with her distinct waddle. Holga is an old and lumpy woman  with the distint weight of someone who has never had to starve. "Morning my lovely. What can i get you?" When Holga leaves Raymund looks at the letter (sent to you via email) and then opening the parchment wrapped parcel reveals a scroll tube. Inside the scroll tube is a scroll of a handdrawn map depicting to you how to get to Brookhollow from Elmshade. After she gets Raymunds order she approaches Andrew and then she approches the young paladin. To both of them she asks what they would like for breakfast and to the young paladin she batts her bushy eyebrows and calls him cute before she goes off to give the orders to the kitchen crew. As the party waits for there order to be filled a woman walks into the tavern drapped in a bear fur cloak, the hood of the cloak is a bears head itself. She walks up to Jarlosh and asks for a cup of mead and a bowl of milk. The woman is a tall human woman with broad shoulders and a large sword hanging off of her back. She looks around the bar and then back to Jarlosh as she prepairs the odd order.

§ Andrew's Hit Points: 13/14 §

Drew just watched as Mark slashed down the ogre.  He had done his job and was proud of himself.  His attention turns to Lux, who seemed to be having a different state of mind.  " Something about that look, I don't like"  He said to himself.  " Be careful Mark, she may not know you."  He says to Mark, as he readied to help his new friend

(Ready on Lux vs attack)

Raymund's contact was broken upon the giant ogre's death... An experience he had never had before.  To be in a creatures mind when it died was an odd feeling, one he didn't like too much.  The young psionicist knew it would be something he would have to experience though if he was to be an adventurer and see the world.

Pulling his hood back up, Raymund approached the large creature.  "It's dead, no need to butcher the body.  We should move it if we are to stay here tonight so it doesn't attract any animals to us."

((Lux 2/13 Hp))

Lux pushes Mark out of the way with her damaged arm, Her blood spattered face sneers and growls at the paladin as he attempts to help her. Taking a few steps she comes to the realization that the Ogre is in fact dead. Her savage eyes twich back to reality as she sees the whole party around her and the Ogre dead on the ground. Within seconds the rage that blocked out her pain, and her surrondings numbs out of existance and she for the first time feels the extent of the damage done to her. She drops to her knees holding her damaged plate over her chest as she starts to breath heavily.  Her good arm takes the Tomahawk and starts to hack at the rivits holding the leather straps to her breast plate. Soon it comes enough free where she rips the armor off of her chest. Taking a moment to breath again she weakly stand on her legs, wobbling a bit. "Were are we putting the Ogre?"

"Your in no shape to do anything. Unless you want to hurt yourself ferther. Then where would we be. One dead Orc and one dead fighter. So will you take care of yourself?" Mark said as he took an arm of the Orc. "Lets try to drag it off into the woods some where."

Drew drops his guard on Lux's rage, as he notices that she has indeed come back to her sences.  She goes to fall on her wobbly knees, as Drew goes to help her to her feet.

" Easy milady, you are badly hurt."  Drew will assist her in getting the plate off, and then will ask to let him take a look at her arm. (first aid skill (SS))*  "This indeed looks bad, here, drink this."   Andrew hands her a small vial with a red liquid in it, it is crimson in color, but is odorless and tasteless.(**)

(* - first aid = the art of checking and mending wounds - INT or WIS skill (cant remember))

(** - Potion of cure light wounds 1d8+3)

Raymund moved about to find some tinder and other things to start a campfire.  "I'm not strong enough to be dragging the ogre around, so I'll set up camp."

Once he had the fire going about 10 feet into the cave, Raymund set up his tent a few feet from the fire and sat down to eat some rations.  "I'll take first watch if no one else minds."

Lux allows the boy to help her. Her pride hurt a little seeing that she needed help but she shrugs it off. She growls a little as he examins her arm. He looks to her face and sees the growl was out of pain, not malice. She nods to him about her arm being badly damage, she knows this is the worst she has ever experianced for this kind of damage. She figures the boy knows what he is talking about so leaves it to him until he pulls out the bottle of red liquid. Having seen this before when she was in the last village she doesn't even touch the bottle. "I'll heal on my own. I dont need some witch's brew to heal my ales, I'll heal the old fasion way. Slow and painfully. If you wanna do something to help me. Go fetch my sword and help me tie the sling." And with that she stands up and calls her horse with a sharp whistle. Within about a minute of so it comes trotting back. She pets him on the nose as she goes to the saddle bag and pulls out a spare cloak. Holding the one side in her mouth she jerks her head and pulls down with her right arm, ripping off a long strip of crimson cloth. Keeping the strip of cloth in her mouth she stuffs the remainder of the cloak in her back in the saddle bag.

Once the sling is tied she walks over to where Mark is standing, near the Ogre. Hearing what he had to say she just shrugs it off. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna die doin meanial work. I'll die in battle." She painfully laughs a little, holding her chest for a moment. She then reachs down with one  arm and grabs onto what ever her hands could hold steadily enough. She starts to drag the ogre slowly by his leg. Her strength allowing her to do so.

In the Cave, once the fire is lit Raymund is able to see what the who cave is about. The cave is of decent size, but not what one would call a Great, elaborite cave. The cave stretchs about 10 ft high, and about 30 ft back to a stone wall. With the fire lit you now see something shiny reflecting to him near the back of the cave. Going back and investigationg (I'm assuming you are) you see a broken cart with several crates left in there, un opened and seemingly undamaged. A sweet but foul smell seems to be coming from the back of the cart though. Moving a little firther back several coins catch the light of the light soarce. Soon as you move forward you see a Large animal hide coving a large mound. Pulling the coving back reveals the Orge's horde, Gold and silver mixed together. Amids the treasure is the skeleton of a human which, besides the now rotten and useless equipment is in pretty good shape. On his body however is a large metal heater shield that seems to be in good shape, an empty flint-lock that is good save for a small bit of rust (no amunition left) and a sheathed cutlass that seems, besides the cobwebs undamaged.

The cart, if someone goes to check it out is loaded with 7 remaining crates. All with labels to different buisnesses. When examining them, the one labled Exotic Fruits seems to be smelling the sweet but terrable smell. The Other crates are labled. 2) Gerneral Store-(Misc. and Expolosive!!!), Alchemist-(Herbs), Weapon smith-(30 lbs Iron), Library-(misc),  Inn-(Whis, Rum, Wine) And amidst everything there is a few bodys with some useable armor and weapons, some of them are a bit rusted though.

(( Here is the treasure as follows There is 7000 silver, 1000 Gold, Magic cutlass, and Magic shield. (i know its a lot but i had some good rolls for you guys))

The Cart: General Store 1: 2) 50' Silk ropes, Bulls eye lantern (no fuel), Some dry rations (still usable), and a very mad spider                          General Store 2: 12 bottles of Alchemist Fire

Library- 8 rare books (you determine what they are.)'

Inn- 3 bottles of Whisky and Wine. 2 Bottles of Rum (one's broken)

(The rest you can figure out)

(ooc for those who aren't good at conversions:

The silver is 7000 or 1750 per person
The gold is  1000 or 250 per person

if you convert the silver into gold, it is 10 silver per 1 gold so that is 175 gold + 250 = 425 gold.  Just thought that I would help out with that.)

§ Andrew's Hit Points: 13/14 §

Drew shrugs as she refuses his potion, and smiles. " Ok, Here, let me help you up."  He helps her tie the sling on her arm, and then whatever else she needs, as he puts the first aid kit back in his duffel bag, and throws it over his shoulder.

(A2)
After Andrew helps to Lux to her feet, he will aid Mark and Lux in the ogre away.

(A3)
Once inside the cave, Andrew agrees to let Raymond take first watch, and Andrew tells him that he will help him out in about 4 hours.*  Before he finds a corner of the cave to meditate in.  He sits indian style, laying his left hand in his lap, palm up, and setting his right fist in his other hand, and closes his eyes in focus.

(* Quick rest - 1 hour of meditation -2 hours of sleep)

"We'll split the money and alchemist's fire equal ways for those who want them... The other items are a more complicated manner though." He says upon finding the stash.  "I'd like to take the books and rope if that's ok with everyone else, and the lantern if no one else wants it."

With that he would lead his horse back into the cave and load up the saddlebags with his share of the money (250 gold, 1750 silver) as well as with the rope and books (if none argue for them).  If the lantern was available after everyone else took what they wanted, Raymund would take that as well.  Finally, if anyone didn't want their split of alchemist's fire, he would split their share among those who did.

Once that was done, the teenage boy would go and sit by the fire for his watch.

(OOC: I'd like you to make the books up Arashi so I know what Raymund would be msot interested in, and I'd like a definition for alchemists fire since it isn't in the 2ED PHB)

He became interested in the Cutlass and sheild. He picked them up to look them over. He looked up and asked: "If no one objects I'll take clame to this two items."

Mark looked over to Raymund to see him rufulling threw a few books. "What kind of books are they?" Mark asked in a interested tone. "If your so inclind to I will give up a my share of thoise bottles over there to abtain a couple books for my self?"

"As it is, I don't know how much I will use the alchemist's fire.  But you're welcome to read all the books you like." Raymund said to Mark as he looked up from Monsters A-G.  "I'd just like to have them at adventure's end.  I've always enjoyed reading and would like to start a collection you see."
