It was not long ago Raven Stormcrow visited the city of Glynnfaighn, where his future position of Guildmaster lay waiting. It was not long ago, he entered the Inn where his Goddaughter Raja, magically sealed herself in a room, fearing to lose herself, and her unborn children. And it was not long ago Raven unraveled the mystery of Rajas curse, and broke down the magical seals that surrounded her. Entering that shade filled room, fighting off shades, so Raja could be saved. It was during this moment...a small spider climbed his robes, and bit deeply into his right hand. This is where it began. Unknown to anyone at the time, that Lolth was fed up with Ravens constant interfering of her plans, so she sent her small servant to place her curse apon him....the same curse, that this day, withers a man away in Sylvaras tower.
A couple nights ago, Raven awoke in his Ivory Tower in Glynnfaighn. The pain of Lolths symbol curse on his hand has grown up his arm and past his shouldernow....and sleep was far from his mind now a days. Over the past months time he tried many things to rid himself of the curse. He reversed the pool of enchantments to disenchant magic, and bathed in its waters,.....but it didnt work. He cast one of his mighty spells, Mordenkainens Disjuncture, trying to rid himself of the spidery curse.... again to no avail. He sought the council of old wizardly friends, who tried to use their magic, and artifacts to remove the curse.....again failure. Raven thought of these attempts as he drank more potions and elixers to try and ease the pain...thought of his failures. But he wouldnt change a thing, his friends, and family needed him, and he would gladly give his life to save them. Tonight however he was restless, and decided to go for a walk through his favorite forest. Within moments Raven was walking under the boughs of Elmshade, breathing in deep the fresh air of the night. He stood out like a sore thumb in the darkness, his white robes acting like a beacon to danger. But he new Elmshade was safe now, and was enjoying a refreshing walk.
Raven wasnt the only one out that night. Arienne Starsinger, and Hiel, the Shadowier, were out themselves. Hiel had gotten into trouble, and was being chased by a band of hounds. Raven and Arienne both sprang into action to help the Shadowier. Raja herself killed most of the hounds, gaining their attention away from Hiel. Raven cast spells of protection, and servailence, to search the area for more danger. It all soon prooved to much for the handsome mage....low on energy, and weakened, the curse took him that moment. Raven collapsed there in Elmshade forest, the spidery curse strands pulse with glee as they double their efforts now. Arrienne, Hiel, and a wimpering worried Raja, carried him back to Sylvaras tower, and placed him in a room there. And it is there where he remains. His own efforts, skills, and powers failed to rid him of this curse.....now time was up. Raven Stormcrow lay dying in Sylvaras tower, unconsiouse to the world now, and maybe forever. His hope for survival now lay on someone else.

Silvaras accolytes scurry around Raven, tending to his health and needs. Raven dismissed Raja earlier, due to the complaints of the acolytes, they seem affraid of her, and could do their duties more efficiently with her gone. Raven relunctantly agreed, sending Raja back to her astral home, for now. He wished he hadnt, after a while of the acolytes probing and prodding him, he fantasized about Raja running them all out. But he left it to his imagination, knowing Silvaras people only want to help him.
Later that afternoon, Raven was sitting comfortable in his bed, all covered warm, and reading one of his tomes. Earlier he spoke with one of the acolytes, who described what happened to him, and when and how he came to be here. It was also their suggestion he stay and rest for at least a couple days to regain his strength. Raven relunctantly agreed to that too. Occasionally he looks down to the symbol still on his hand, studying it. It seems the effects were slowed greatly, the symbol will not grow as fast this time. With that discovery he seemed pleased. He now had more time to find a cure for it. However....it seemed to speed up its growth when Raven casts spells. It seems to feed off his spell casting, which he would have to cut down on using, until he found a cure.
He pulls out a wand stuffed in the folds of his robes sitting next to his bed......and activates its power. (Wand of Element Air.) With its power he summons a powerful airiel servant. The transparent being forms at the foot of his bed, and bows humbly to its master...awaiting command. "I want you to fly as fast as you can to Glynnfaighn. Go there and find Laurelle. She could be in the Ivory Tower there, or the Temple. Search her out, and tell her where I am."
With that said the servant bows to Raven once more, and quickly flies out the window, hastily heading on its journey to find Laurelle. Raven looks to his hand again shaking his head...."I will not let you beat me, if not using my magic is what it takes, then so be it." He then puts the wand away, and leans back on the pillows, picking up his book to read again. His eyes look to the window, hoping his messenger comes through.

Silvaras student acolytes intercepted Laurelle in the hall. The sight of the late Mistress of this tower made the initiate even more timid. "Excuse me Mistress Laurelle. Master Ravens room is upstairs on the 5th pylon. He is still weak and needs lots of rest. It seems this morning there was some arcane activity in his room, when we went to investigate...Master Raven was seeming much better. We made him stay in bed anyhow, instructions from Mistress Silvara that he gets rest, wether he likes it or not."
The young female initiate backs away bowing her head to Laurelle, holding her arm out and pointing to the stairs leading up to the bedrooms.

Laurelle skidded to a stop before Ravens room door, looking in at a quaint little room with two arching windows along the opposite wall, and carpeted floor with a reddish rug. Sitting along the wall to her right is a large bed with two tables on each side, topped with a water basin and several viles of medicin. From the bed, Raven looks up to Laurelle smiling, sitting up in the bed dressed in a white silken robe, covered by white sheets to his waist, and a large tome open in his lap. Several pillows are stacked behind him, propping him up for a better reading position. A couple of Silvaras startled acolytes stand next to his bed, preparing medicin.
"Welcolm my dear. I hoped the ariel servant would find you." Raven says with a smile looking to the doorway at Laurelle. It seems to her he has his old spirit back, and seemingly healthier, with his normal color returned to his face.

Raven placed his hand on Laurelles shoulder, a smile on his face... "I have not been attacked by anyone my dear, I just over did it a little."
Raven then explains to her what happened up to this time, from the battle in the woods along side of Hiel and Arrienne, to where he found himself in this room.
Raven holds out his arm, and unwrapps the bandages from it. He reviels the curse symbol still emblazoned on his skin, yet shrunken back to a smaller size on his hand, and it is now outlined with a bright blue line. "I have discovered why it grew so fast, and was able to reverse it, and stave off its effects for now. I discovered it grows faster as I use my magic."
Raven then has a sad look on his face for a moment, then smiles again as he brushes his hand through Laurelles hair...."So as long as I dont use my magic anymore, the curse will be in check. After all I still have my Alchemy."

Raven holds Laurelle close to him, feeling her heat die back down as she calms. He smiles as he strokes her hair, watching the firey red leave her hair, and become its platinum color again. A firey spirit she is, I already feel sorry for anyone who makes her mad......he thinks to himself.
"Dear Laurelle, I will never leave you...even in death. You are my flame, that keeps the forge of my heart beating strong. And as for this mortal life we share, I think I have ways to make it last as long as we want." Raven smiles holding her close to his chest.
Silvaras accolytes leave the room to give them privacy, and Raven takes the chance for a possible exit.
"However I do feel better now, and your X apprentice wont let me leave. I understand everyones concerns for me, but Raven Stormcrows been though much in his many years of life, and I can handle this too. I didnt remove the curse, but I stopped it from advancing...for now. So how about we get out of here, and go for a walk in the woods. Its lovely this time of year." Raven continues to hold her, awaiting her response, fearing he already knows it. He just smiles more, glad he has so many people who care about him, and his safety.

Raven smiles wide like a little kid. "Ok, sounds good. Raja would love to come along with us, and I bet Beldar would enjoy it too...those two love to prowl and play around with each other in the woods. But Id better wait till we get out of the tower...Raja has made Silvaras accolytes a little nervouse lately." Raven chuckles and climbs onto the disk when it is prepared. He scoots to one side of it, patting a spot next to him...."Theres room for both of us. It'll be a nice ride through the forest."
Raven looks to the doorway hearing footsteps approaching....."We'd better hurry though. Someones comming."

Raven rubbs his chin at what Laurelle said about the disc...."Hmmmm. Looks like Ill have to come up with an improved version one day."..he chuckles as Laurelle tucks him in.
Raven smiles to Beldar, reaching down to rub him behind an ear...."Ill bring Raja out to play, when we reach the woods."..he says to Beldar, flashing a wink to the beutiful, magical, cat.
Raven then turns his attention back to Laurelle, his smile still on his face. "Im ready when you are my dear." Raven then leans back on the pillows behind him, and rubbs his hands together, ancsious to go outside.
"The Red Poppies are blooming this time of year in Jadzias grove. Id love to get a couple samples."

((OOC: The following is a summary of what transcribed during the chat session hosted by Janiece. I would have posted the chat session itself, but it was late, and I was tired. So here goes.))

Apon entering Jadzias Grove, Raven and Laurelle found a nice spot in the center of the gardens to have a romantic evening alone. It wasnt long before Raven was attacked by the former Guildmaster of Glynnfaign, Vondor. He wanted Suede Holimions secret treasure that he left to Raven before departing on his final journey to the Celestial City of Elves. Vondor first distracted Laurelle away from Raven, and then trapped the defenseless White Mage on a circle of raised stones that sprouted from the ground benieth him. Laurelle quickly heard Ravens cries and came to his aid. Also Hiel, and Trea were nearby and saw the smoke and ruckuss from Vondors castings creating the Stonehengelike ring of stones. They too soon arrived on scene.
Vondor was persistent in getting the information he wanted from Raven, even if it meant killing him. Raven was still weak from the cursemark that the Spider Queen Lolth had placed on him weeks ago, so he could not use his magic without sacrificing the protective ward that held the curse in check. So Raven tried to gain information from Vondor, why he was doing this, and refusing his demands. Laurelle, Hiel, Trea, Raja, and Beldar all were in a fierce battle with the Black Mage Vondor, trying to help Raven and protect him. Laurelle used her spells to aid the others in seeing Vondor in the darkness by calling light from above, and casting offensive spell at him. Raja, and Beldar did what they do best, claw and bite at him. Trea made it up to Raven, protecting him with her swords. Hiel was circling below, firing deadly accurate arrow shots at Vondor, hitting him in critical areas, and defeating a couple Vampires that Vondor summoned to his aid.
Vondor finally cast a fireball at Raven, who had no choice but to cast a shield spell to protect him, and the other up there with him. This of course set the curse on him once more, quickly growing to claim Ravens life. Raven then called on the power of an amulet Jadzia had given him long ago, summoning a Black Unicorn. But the curse was growing too rapidly, and Raven could barely speak. Hiel struck Vondor with a mortal wound in the head, distracting him from Laurelle who reached Ravens side and called apon her god to save her beloved Raven. Her God answered, transfering the curse to her. Raven quickly regained his strength, and was stricken with sadness as he watched his curse start to consume Laurelle, he called apon the Black Unicorn to transfer the curse to Vondor instead. Which it did, and then vanished. Hiel was able to get to Vondor then, and finish him off with his sword. Laurelle regained her strength, and was stricken with grief, revieling Vondor as being her son. Laurelle disposed of Vondors body in Holy flame, affraid of him returning as a Lich.
Raven and Laurelle then returned to the Ivory Tower in Glynnfaighn...Hiel and Trea returned to the Temple in Elmshade. Raven was happy now to be rid of the curse, and restored fully, but saddened for Laurelle at losing her son Vondor.
Now the only evidence of the encounter, is the still standing circle of stones, in the center of Jadzias grove.
