When all of life is said and done, and only dust remains,
the moon will still follow the setting sun
and hallowed be the veins.
Blood is thinner when it's new,
and love's lie be forsaken.
For all the things I thought I knew
all that I was, was taken.
Years of life spent waiting for
a gentle, faithful love's reward.
And here this life was so much more
before his sadist's sword.
The simple truth was that I cared,
and loved the boy too well.
And in loving only him, I dared
to follow the heart that fell.
And all shall be forgiven,
forgotten steel hearts will rust.
Never again by love be driven.
For it only ends in dust.
I tried so very hard to be brave.
Tried to be a faithful friend.
Deceived by those I sought to save,
Love damned me in the end...
