"To all, I bid you Greetings and Velcohme." "But I must warn you all. I bring dire news . . ." "The Wind-Chimes have spoken. There are dark days ahead. An 'ancient' evil has awoken the Legions of Darkness, and noticed the existence of Elmshade. We are all in grave danger." (For several weeks now, I've been dabbling in my spare time to create a new adventure for Elmshade, based upon the story thread "Hated Foes of the Shadoweir". The time has come to summon forth the 'hiros and hiro-inas' to defend Elmshade and save its inhabitants from the Legions of Darkness.) "To any among you, who are willing to take up the call to arms, and defend Elmshade from the horrors and terrors which may beset our peaceful village, you are implored to make clear your intentions here for all to know." Ok, here's the deal. I'm an old-timer, meaning I know Basic, 1st, 2nd, and 2.5 editions of D&D. So don't go bringing no 3rd Ed stuff to the internet table. You'll just confuzzle me (something you all get to look forward to in your old age). Also let's keep it simple... no psionics (you'll just wind up as some kinda fodder), and no Skills and Powers (too advanced for a simple internet adventure). The adventure is mostly meant to be played out in the chat room, and the chat posted into a thread. This hack and slash adventure is moderated for 3-6 starting low level characters (1-3 level, starting base experience for 3rd level characters), using standard 2nd ed rules with the following house rules:
~ Unconsciousness at 0 hps
~ Hp loss continues -1 hp per round after 0 hps until treated by a healer or bandaged
~ Death occurs at -10 hps
~ Healing skills 'successfully' used in advance of magical healing can restore 0-3 hps on each wound received (and bungled attempts will can cause 0-3 hps). Don't bother using healing skills after magical healing.
~ Bandages prepared by a healer can, depending on the quality, restore between 0-3 hps
~ Natural healing restores 1 hp per full day of rest.
~ Mages must be fully rested (8 hours) before studying spells, and declare the ones committed to memory after studying
~ Priests must remain within the good graces of their diety performing requisite prayer and rituals once per day. There is no requirement to pray for specific spells, merely do an on the spot prayer which lasts as long as the casting time for the needed spell. Priests will know if their diety is unhappy with them.
~ Initiative is determined using standard d10, modified by Dexterity reaction adjustment, weapon speed, specialization, spell casting time, magic item activation time. To get this show on the road, here's what is needed: 1st) Post here the following information about the character you will run in the adventure: Name; Class (diety if priest); Level (experience); HPs; AC; Race; Any characteristics granting exceptional bonus; Weapons; Spells; Thief Abilities 2nd) Use this thread to make game coordinations, ask any questions, post what times you'll be available to kick ass in the chat room etc. That's all for now. Doubtless I forgot something... but you all can remind me. Thanks HT |

YAY! Welcome back, Orin. I'm not the DM, but I will hazard a guess in saying he would be more than happy to hand over your character to you again, for you to play. You might wanna ask him about your last Con. roll, or if you need to make another one yet. Ol' Ethan's kinda in a bit of a spot, wot? We'll have to see what we can do about that. Again, good to have ya back in action. |

Hey man, Welcome back, I kept your character only slightly warm... Ethan is currently separated from the rest of the group after a nasty step sent him on a tumble into the darkness. There is currently a blizzard wailing around them further adding to the difficulties of the party in the form of extreme sub-freezing temperatures and accumulating snow approaching a foot in depth. Footing is very treacherous for all involved. The key thing for you the player to pick up on is that when Ethan stood up from his tumble, he grabbed hold of the pointed end of a truncated tree stump. The kind produced from an axe. Thanks to lucky rolls on my part, Ethan is not suffering too much from the cold... yet. HT |

Lord Orin, You are summoned for 1-2 hours to the chatroom for the next phase of the Quest for the Wand. You may use the chatroom schedule or tell me what times are good for you with the understanding that my free time is during the day on weekdays and weekends anytime (usually). That is all. HT |

Dang, sorry about my late reply. I guess the weekend will be the best option, considering my available hours during the week days fall upon your evenings. I'm available on Saturday 6pm onwards EST (In my date/time that is on Sunday 12pm onwards). The only other option for me is Sunday 6pm EST. |

So like, I've been waiting for Bryce to reply but I'm not sure if he's waiting for me or not. I've done the combat chat RP, but it's only today where I remembered something Hiel said about me posting after he transcripted the Chat RP in the board? Is it my turn to post? Ethan |

Post at will. Bryce can post or not, but no player will hold up the adventure. Whatever you plan to accomplish, et al. through the night until the dawn when I'll post next. There will be a dream episode for Tessa. This applies to Kubla Kai's Ice Dome, and the little vacation cabin. That is all. HT |

Roll Call! Sound Off! For the Players/Members already involved in the Restoring the Balance thread, post a message. Give me a clue here in this thread about your readiness or interest to continue roleplaying the adventure. This message is valid until 01 August 07. New Players are always welcome. HT |

I'd love to, but can't take on too much RP right now. Dunno about the others. Let me get a few things in RL organized, and maybe I will be able to pick Tessa back up again at some point, but I have to pass for now, HT. Sorry. ~ C |

Tks, Well, we appear to have a couple of things in common. - Working on a degree (only one class at the moment)
- Interested in continuing the RB thread
But busy, busy, busy. We'll get around to using the paddles on this thread eventually. Shock it at 200 jewels. HT |
