It is with a sad heart that I anounce that we have lost one of our own.  I found out today that two days after I had posted the first message in this thread, our faithful friend Steve Duaine Brown passed away of health complications. We all know he had been in the hospital for a while, but I guess none of us expected this to be it.  Please keep his family in your prayers. Thanks.
 
Steven “Brownie” D. Brown, age 48, of Sheffield Lake, former reporter of the Chronicle Telegram and editor of the CT "Encore" tabloid, died on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following a long illness. He was born on February 9, 1957 in Lorain, he moved to Sheffield Lake from Lorain in the 1960’s. He was a 1975 graduate of Brookside High School. He studied at Ohio State University, Michigan State University and then graduated from Lorain County Community College. Steven was employed as a reporter in the sports and entertainment department at the Chronicle Telegram for 27 years. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Elyria. He enjoyed watching movies, collecting baseball cards, watching baseball on t.v., playing the drums and going to and participating in the theater. He is survived by his father: Myron of Lima, OH, brother: Kevin Dale Brown, of Cedarburg, WI, sisters: Terry Lee Brown Burkhead, Grinnell, Iowa, Kathy Sue Brown, of Bar Harbor, Maine, and Ruth Lynn Brown, of Grover Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his mother: Miriam Louise Brown in 1991. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February 20th at 2:00 p.m. at First United Presbyterian Church, 200 East Avenue, Elyria, Rev. Malcolm Peel, pastor will officiate.
