Marsala paced back and forth in one of the rooms in the temple. "Come on, Lita," Marsala said, looking around for his sister. "I've got to stay calm. I want everything to go smooth. I want this to be a wedding that Diedra nor Elmshade will ever forget." He gets down on his knees to pray. "Marfa, Mother of Earth, I ask you to bring a sense of peace. With your hand, touch this trembling body and make me as calm as the lake on a summer day. Please bless this ceremony, shine down on its participants and make it a truly special day. ... And if you can hurry Lita along, I would really appreciate it...Sorry for the irreverance, Marfa, your humble servant is just very nervous. May this day bring wondrous glory to your name." Marsala gets back on his feet and is immediately pacing again. |

Marsala watched as his bride was walking down the aisle. He thought to himself how beautiful she looked and his mind flashed back over the times they spend together. From the time they sparred on the training field to the first time they kissed at the river. Marsala knew this was true love. When Diedra reached him, Marsala extended his hand and held hers in his as the ceremony continued. |

Arienne stood behind Diedra, looking at her best friend with love in her eyes. She smiled at Diedra as she made her way up the aisle, and her heart filled with joy that Diedra had found such a wonderful mate. She smoothed her crimson silk dress, nervously, and held the bouquet when Diedra reached Marsala. She quickly fluffed Diedra's gown's train and stepped to the side, watching the beauty of the moment. The ceremony was so beautiful that it made her heart ache a little, and tears sprang unbidden to her eyes. Perhaps someday...was all she could think, and smiled at the happy couple. She thought to herself, smilingly, They really are a cute couple. They belong together. Anyone can see it...She waited and watched, wondering how long the ceremony would be, and hoping that she could slip away afterwards for a little reflection in solitude..... |

Raja was about to proceed with the ceremony when Marsala nervously interrupted her. "Excuse me, Raja, but I have to say my piece now or I'll burst. Diedra, my love, I want to tell you how much you mean to me. Being with you has given me a bigger reason to enjoy life. I have never been as happy as I have been, walking alongside you and talking with you. There is nothing in this world I'd rather have than your love - not gold, not power, nothing. I want to laugh with you and I want to share my tears. I want you there besides me as I grow old. I will love you and cherish you for the rest of your life. I would gladly give up my life to protect yours. I will never leave you but will be there whenever you call. Diedra, my heart belongs to you." |

(OOC: Umm, people, I'm glad the wedding seems to be going to so well without my posting. But you all forgot someone, who is very important to me, THE MAN WHO IS GIVING ME AWAY!!! I'm adding him in now.) Diedra looked at Araon, and smiled then turned to Marsala, squeezing his hand that she held in hers. She smiled at her husband to be, and leaned over to him and whispered so only he could hear. "My love, nothing in this world would make happier than to be the person that keeps the key to the lock of your heart. Now let's make it official." Diedra turned to Raja, flashing her a smile and nodding, giving her the signal to proceed. Diedra looked over at Arienne, and smiled gratefully. She then looked at Lita, and smiled welcomingly. She then turned once more and looked at Araon, and gave him a smiled that only he understood. A smile that said: It's finally happening to me. She turned back to Arienne and handed to her the bouquet. She then looked back to Raja, ready for the ceremony to comense. |

Lita staied her place, behind her brother. Her red velvet dress, red heel-boots and white belt and flower tiara all seem to match. She stands there as the couple exchange words and when the ceremony begins, she remains calm and focused, as not to let her inner self get away. She can feel the joy that only a truely loving person could have, yet deep down, she hurts. The pain is overwelmed by Marsala's incredible joy and she watches. A silent tear rolls down her right side of her face and she remains silent. |

Marsala was handed the ring by Lita. Taking Diedra's hand, he slides the ring on her finger. "My love, Marfa has blessed me greatly for bringing you into my life. I will cherish and honor you through sickness and health, good times and bad, I will never leave your side. I will look to you not only as my wife, but as friend, lover, equal and hopefully mother of our children. I pray to Marfa for her blessing on our union, that through it we shall be strong. Nothing, even death, will ever break this bond of love I confess to you." Turning to Raja, Marsala says "amin." |

Diedra turned to Arienne, and took the ring from her. She picked up Marsala's had and finally spoke out loud for the first time. "My love, I cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together. Every moment I am with you is one more that I can hold in my mind to cherish. I will love you beyond time. And I cannot wait to see the happiness in store for the two of us." As Diedra slipped the ring on Marsala's finger she softly, yet firmly replied: "Amin um." |

Arienne quietly brushed away a tear as she watched the couple exchange rings, vows and then embrace. She looked around the temple, admiring the perfect beauty of the scene, wanting to transfix it in her mind forever. Someday...she thought. And if that day never comes...then at least I have been able to share this one.... She smiled at Diedra and Marsala and gently laid the bride's bouquet to the side, near one of the tall windows, after plucking a single, red rosebud from its heart. She gathered her silken dress and slipped quietly into the afternoon shadows to escape and contemplate her own life...and love..... |
