The column of smoke appears from no where. Then the tell tale  flash of lightning is followed several moments by an unusual thunder. It seems to be below treeline

Far across the canopy the smoke can be seen, thick and billowing. Flame licks at the sky

It's coming from where the ruins lay. far to the horizon.

The beast lands before Charyn?
She looks at it. She thinks inwardly.

It speaks?
She looks left, she looks right
The wood girl is talking
She spins her blade to rest down against her forearm like a huge dagger
She bolts to the side and heads for the woods at breakneck speeds. She is large and deadly quick.
She clears the now exposed 6' wall with relative ease

She makes it about 1000' were she suddenly falls to the ground and skids to an unconsciencous heap.

The Silver dragon raises its head, and looks to them a moment. He watches as the dark female takes off in a frantic run. He doesnt follow. Instead he shakes his head, and shapeshifts fluidicly back into his normal form standing before Denora. He then leans on his staff, looking to her... "I am fine thank you. As for saving the forest... Thank you for that as well. So you are saying that you came across this area, and tried to help those under attack by the Death Knight? Interesting." Raven looks to the ruins, which are now more exposed than before. " I knew there was danger inside these ruins when I discovered them. What I didnt know that it was able to get out." He looks back to Denora, and Tallican. "Who is the dark woman, and what was her part in this?"

Denora's green eyes rounded and her mouth gaped a little as she watched the silver dragon change into...the White Mage from earlier! She had watched the dark woman run into the forest, leaping a huge wall as if it weren't there. Shaking her head in wonder, the young woman stared at Raven. "You? The dragon....but...." Denora sighed and looked back towards the forest. "I don't know who she is. I think she knew the Death Knight somehow, though. What I do know is that she uses some pretty scary magic, so I'd wager she's a wizard, too. She's actually the one who brought down the giant." The druid studied him for a minute and then said, "If these ruins are so dangerous, how come nothing's guarding them to keep innocents from being hurt? There ought to be a sign or something."

She brushed a hand through the frazzled remnants of her chestnut hair and fought the urge to cry as a few more strands broke off in her fingers. "Look. Not to be rude or anything, but I'm tired, I'm sad, I look like hell, and I could really use a hot bath and some decent sleep. I'm Denora and this is Tallacan. We were on our way to the Temple to see if maybe we could find those things and put this horrible day behind us, Silvanus willing." The rain had slowed and then stopped, and the silence was almost deafening. No birdcalls rang from the smoking woods, no animals called out as they foraged. There were only she, Tallacan and the white-robed mage, and the stench of things burnt and dead. Denora turned saddened eyes back to the man again. "The forest will recover, in time. But you might wanna think about putting up that sign. And if you really do wanna know about the dark one, I suggest you go find her and ask her, because there's really not much I can tell you. Except that she helped out quite a bit."

Raven nods to Denora... "As I said. I DIDNT know the danger could get out.... until now. Now that Im aware of this fact, there will be precautions set up around the ruins now." Raven bowed to Denora and Tallican again, and politely stepped out of their way. "Thank you for answering my questions, you may leave."
Raven then turns and follows after the dark womans direction. He would have to go to the source and find out who this person is. He runns and leaps like a regular athlete himself, uncommon to most mages, but not to the healthy Raven.

((There ought to be a sign or something." LOL))

Charyn lays on the ground past the wall/tail just out of sight of where they stood. If anyone actively searches they will easily find her body in minutes

Raven soon comes up on the prone woman laying unconsiouse on the ground. He briefly checks her vitals to see if she is alive, then cast clean and freshen cantrips over her bloody form to clean the wounds. Raven then kneels down, pulling out a canister of salve and a couple potions. He tends to her wounds, dressing them, and stopping any bleeding. Raven shakes his head as he works... That must have been one hell of a battle before I even got here. Shes cut up pretty bad.
After finishing up, Raven stands back up and finds a comfortable mossy rock nearby to sit on. The healing salves, and revitalizing potions he administered to her would work quickly, and he hoped she would regain consiousness soon. She did look battered pretty bad however, and if she didnt... he would have no choice but to take her back to his tower so he could tend to her more. He couldnt just leave her laying out here.
So Raven got comfortable on the rock, and leaned on his staff while watching over the dark woman. As he watched her, he couldnt help but notice a few similarities in clothing and jewely to the recent encounter he had with a Gladiator Circus. Perhaps they are from the same world.

The woman appears quite dead.

As Raven nears her he sees inside the multiple gaping wounds are odd in the way that they seem to fester and bubble inside. It seems to him that they are trying to heal at an accelerated rate but just can't. He may conclude the wounds might worsen if not for whatever force was keeping them stable.

In her left hand the ancient gothic  black-blade is still clenched in her death grip.

The gargoyle like characture at the hilt watches him with a silent mouth but the glowing red eyes follow his every move.

The wind whispers to the mage as he comes closer. " slay her"
He pauses to look for the speaker. "slay the weak,"
Only the druid is near
" drink from the fallen, all victories will be granted thru the death of our foes.

 Take hold of I, Jihade-tetken-allaei

The black maelstrom, devourer of men" ((save vs charm. I assume Raven is too smart for it, but I don't know for sure. If not immune, mag resistance, if fail save w/a +2 for every point of wisdom over 15))

As he applies the medicinal salves and ointments he observes a marked improvement in some of the open wounds and massive deep black bruises that criss-cross the odd tribal scarification markings. They are laid out similar to some of the markings on the outlanders at the sparring fields. Some are very different. Concentric geometrics and sweeping points.

As he sits and watches he detects the first signs of her shallow breathing. A soft moan escapes and she actually rolls to her side.

Now he can see her right hand is enveloped in some sort of crystaline substance. Even as he watches several crystal viens slowly wrap up her forearm. The bubbling wounds surround them as if it is red hot

Denora simply nodded silently and watched the wizard as he set out to find the dark woman. We go to the Temple now, Denora? Tallacan asked in her mind. The druid sank down and rested against one of the treant’s large, wooden fingers. Yes, please, Tallacan. I’m exhausted and I think we could both use some peace and quiet. Good, the sprite agreed. The Temple will be a good, good place for you to try to regain favor for us, too. With a heavy sigh and shake of her head, Denora said nothing, verbally or mentally. Tallacan began to walk, taking large, ground-eating strides with her long, branchy legs, and they were at the village’s Temple within the hour.

Raven examines her close, especially the crystaline substance thats has enveloped her hand. He notices how her wounds are rapidly healing themselves, and hopes his medications will aid. He keeps his distance from the crystaline substance and anything else she may have that looks to be abnormal. Hes half tempted to place her in stasis, and take her back to the Ivory Tower... but he still does not know the nature or intentions of this woman. He decides to wait, and see if she revives. Raven gets comfortable close by ready for a long wait if need be.
He looks to the sword of hers laying nearby, and grinns as he looks directly at it. "Be quiet spawn of evil. You have no power, nor influence over me. Ye best hope she lives, for your sake. I'll leave ye here to rust."
((Raven has wards against the sphere of enchantments and charm, making him immune.))

The magical radiations wear off and her healing stops. The wounds ooze red puss and the crystaline tendrils begin to wrap her arm up to the shoulder and keep entwining her as they go.

Her hand is but a clump of red diamond now.

The blade continues to whisper promises of power but Raven's wards and high intellect are much to high for such low brow mind tricks.

The female will probably be covered in the red glass like substance within hours at the present rate of progression.

Raven decides he cant take the chance of this crystaline substance destroying the woman. It obviously doesnt belong on her, and its living like manner of growth seems to be continueing to cover her whole body if he doesnt do something.
Raven stands up and casts a spell, Ottilukes Resiliant Sphere around the woman, crystal substance, and even her talkative sword. Once hes sure hes encased them all, he casts Space Warp inside the barrier to make everything inside weightless, and float around its center. Then finalizing his spell casting with one more powerful spell. Raven casts Stasis inside the barrier, causing time itself to stop inside.
Once finished with his spell casting, Raven waits a few minutes to see if his spells are going to be effective, and stop the growth of the crystaline substance.

((She just lays there. Her breathing had become very labored just before all of Raven's spells take full effect. Space warp? LOL. I don't recall that one. That any better than levitate or Tenser's disk? JK, sounds fine. Sphere will stop the whispers of the blade also))

((Yes. Space Warp. Its in the Tome of Magic, it effects gravity.))

Raven nods satisfied his spells worked correctly, and the growth has stopped. He shifts back into a Silver dragon, grabs the sphere in a talon, and then leaps into the air. Raven flies back to the Ivory Tower, where he can study the crystaline substance in the safety of his lab, and perhaps save the womans life.

The huge red wolf watches the powerful mage take the dead woman in the bubble. The ent had already departed with the wood child.

It loped up to the rune scarred ground and paced slowly over the area with it's head lowered.

It sniffs at the altar and then looks to the direction of where the mage and his cargo took to....

Towards the town in the distance.

The lupine sulks off into the burned wood disappearing into the shadows.
