Storyline:  Due to Raven's RL concerns, we're moving on.  Consequence: Akashi dies, and is taken captive by the Undead;
Location:  Hall of the Golden Gate of Wonders
Time: Dawn (Morning after the Temple's destruction)

Akashi, the Drow Scout, succumbs to the life draining touches of the Life Stealers, and leaves the realm of the living behind as his life is absorbed by the Undead.  The Capture Team, having completed half their mission, quickly withdraws, and carries the dead scout back to the Main Body and the Entrance into the Ruins.  The Agents of Shadow Realm, screening the Capture Team's withdrawl, act as Rearguard to ensure they're not counter-attacked or surprised.  The composite force of Undead arrives back at the ruins with their captive, and carry their prize down into the darkness to the Mummy Priest Halm as ordered.  The Capture Team leaves the body in the Mummy Priest's care, and depart back up the staircase to take their position with the rest of the Undead.

  • Halm turns to the other Mummy Priests, and summons them to attend him, saying "Come.  Assemble.  It is time for us to combine our powers, and prepare.  Who remains apart?"
  • The other Mummy Priests turn from their deliberations at Halm's announcement, and move around him joining hands in a circle.  Except for Vaug, who answers "I remain apart.  Begin at once."
  • Halm nods at the answer and instructions, and immediately begins incanting the prayer for joining the powers of the other Mummy Priests [Combine] to his own.  Upon completing the prayer of empowerment, Halm announces "It is done.  Let us begin the interrogation of the fledgling Life Stealer." and launches into another prayer [Speak with Dead], specifically targetting the corpse of the former scout.
  • As the prayer incantation is completed, a spectral, dark-violet radiance outlines the corpse of the drow scout, and then fades away, almost like it soaked into the body.  A few moments later, the body jerks, the chest deflates in an exhalation, and the clouded over, purple eyes of the dead Drow snap open, rolling in their sockets before coming to a rest on the Mummy Priest Halm.  In the Drow tongue, dead Akashi raspily asks "Vel'bol xun dos ssinssrin?" [What do you want?]
  • Halm mentally asks of Vaug "Tell me the questions."
  • Vaug immediately and recites the questions proposed during deliberations, mentally relaying
    1. Did you SERVE Kiranslee?
    2. Tell us whom did you ULTIMATELY serve?
    3. Does whomever you served SEEK the Wand of Orcus in these Ruins?
    4. WHAT does whomever you served SEEK in these Ruins?
    5. Where will your comrades HIDE when the sun rises?
    6. When were you EXPECTED to report back to your comrades?
  • Halm nods, and looks down at the future Wight, asking in Drow "Xunus dos KLA'ATH Kiranslee?"[1]
  • The dead Drow tries to resist answering the question, but ultimately answers "Nau." [No.]
  • Halm next asks "Tesso udossa vel'ussa xunus dos untaramar kla'ath?"[2]
  • The fresh corpse answers "Nash Zeranexus."
  • The Mummy Priest asks "'udtila Nash Zeranexus dos kla'ath lac l' Jihard d' Orcus wun nindolen ze'zhuanth k'lar?"[3]
  • Akashi answers "Nau." [No.]
  • "VEL'BOL 'udtila Nash Zeranexus dos kla'ath lac wun nindolen ze'zhuanth k'lar?"[4]
  • The former Drow scout answers "L' Mrim'ol ulu Pahntar l' ze'zhuanth k'lar." [The Key to Open the Ruins.]
  • Halm frowns at the answer, thinking that didn't make sense, and deviates from the set questions, asking "Vel'uss uriu xor vel'klar zhah l' Mrim'ol?" [Who has or where is the Key?]
  • Akashi asnwers "L' sssiks xellased wun l' che'el inbal l' mrim'ol." [The sun dwellers in the village have the key.]
  • The Undead Priest nods at the answer, and weighs which of the deliberated questions was more important before asking "Vel'klar orn dosst abbilen VELDRI vel'drav l' sssiks ku'lamen?"[5]
  • The dead Dark Elf gives a cryptic smirk before saying "Velkyn klædera muth tu'fyr l' rivvil delmah lu' ghil." [Hidden tents between the human village and here.]
  • Halm finishes the questioning of the dead Drow, allowing the Speak with Dead magic to lapse, and turns to Vaug asking "We have our answers. Shall we revive him, and send him back to the surface as bait with a Company-sized ambush team for the other Drow who come to his aid?"
  • The dead scout drops back into a relaxed death-like posture.
  • Vaug shakes his bandaged head, clearly disapproving of that idea, and counters "To what end? All that will do is draw more attention to us, and remember we are in a dead end with no way out of here other than the way we came in. Not a tenable situation if we come up against superior forces. Keep him handy with that Horn in case we need a diversion or deception."
  • Halm nods at the correctness of Vaug's reasoning, and asks "What do we do now?"
  • "We wait. The Mistress will return soon." answers Vaug prophetically as the smoke billowing, fiery form of the large bat sweeps into the hall letting the heavy coffin She'd levitated slam to the floor. Both Mummy Priests turn to look at the Vampiress as she changes shape to her human form, shedding ash and hot sparkles from her body, while the other Undead Priests continue to concentrate on Halm to maintain the Combining of their Powers. The Mummies stand unflinchingly, innured to such horrific sights, and watch their Mistress, a smoking, burnt and blackened Vampire with reddened bloodied cracks running through her once beautiful skin, approach them, surely a sight to send the mightiest of living warriors fleeing in terror.
  • Halm defers to Vaug, allowing him to confer with their Mistress.
  • Vaug answers Ehliana, saying "Mistress, Tuhl organized the defense. And Dokn saw to the arrangement of your coffin." and moves to her side when she directly addresses Lihm, who despite her query to him continues concentrating on the prayer incantation Halm had invoked. "Mistress, Lihm is helping to maintain powers Halm invoked, and needs to maintain his concentration. I can answer your questions." intercedes Vaug, tyring avoid the spoiling one of their incantations, and hope the Vampire would see reason.

Location:  Ancient Temple, northwest sector of the Ruins;
Time:  Late Evening (D+1 after the Temple's Destruction);
Day Walker Info:  Half physical strength (10 STR).  No special/mental powers until FULLY healed.  Only 1 Unlife HP at present, gains back 1 Unlife HP per HD of life drained from prey.  Oh, and sunlight will kill him at this stage of recovery, and he ain't gonna be too pretty to behold.

 - - - Within the black coldness of the coffin, the newly revived Vampire, Kain, lay awake in the freezing crimson mist that had nearly restored his physical body to its former glory.  The Day Walker was weak beyond comprehension at half his full strength otherwise he'd have flung the lid clean off the coffin.  The fact of the lid being sealed shut, frozen in ice, and the weight of the paralyzed Beast Man prevented Kain from opening the coffin.  The Blood Lust, the newly reconstituted Vampire felt was powerful, gnawing at his veins to feed, and the enticing panicked patter of the Jackalman's heart beat, further enraged the undeniable compulsion.  The inside of the coffin lid was shredded and striated by the bony finger tips of the Day Walker where he'd furiously tried to feebly claw his way out of the ice box to no avail.  As soon as the coffin lid flips aside, Kain, blazing eyed, frost-covered gray dead flesh and wreathed in the icy Blood Mist of his revival, rises feral and rabid from the dark box of his resurrection. [cue RAVEN] - - -
THE DAYWALKER

 - - - Regaining her senses after being stunned for an indeterminant time by the Thundercone magicks employed by the Priest of Orcus, Malice Everhate continues the charade of her unconsciousness, and surreptitously assesses her situation, finding it extremely bleak.  She was gagged with her hands bound squarely between her thighs to one of the rib bones of a Giant Skeleton.  The Commander feels the blood-warmed flesh of the Vampire's hands fumble between her legs freeing the binding to the Skeleton's rib bone but not her hands themselves.  The female Drow almost made her move to escape now that her arms were freed, but at the feel of the strong hand closing about her throat, stays her impulse, maintaining her limp state.  Malice couldn't believe her luck and the sheer incompetence of her enemy, who hadn't even bothered to strip her of all she possessed, and instead foolishly prattled on about her plans to yet another Mummy [SAVED vs Fear]. - - -

- - - Stealing a glance at the foe who dared to challenge her and Kiaranslee, the Drow finds her glance met by the icy baby blue eyes of the Vampire staring up at her, her deception revealed, and sneers at the arrogant bitch, who monologued to her about the 'greatness' of her wormy master, Orcus.  Malice had heard and seen enough, especially the dessicated, pasty fleshed Vampire sitting up in a coffin, and with both hands, grabs hold of the wrist of the hand clasped about her throat, acting as though she intended to struggle with the Bloodsucker.  The Commander presses the black silken skin of her forearm against the emblem of Everhate, her House Insignia prominently displayed between her smallish, chainmail-covered breasts, and stares down at the Ehliana, her sneer turning into a similarly wicked smile and a sinister glimmer shines in her vermillion red eyes.  With the meerest thought, the Drow instantly vanishes from the Vampire's grasp, leaving her holding empty air, and a split instant later rematerializes in the safety of her personal quarters, deeper inside the dungeons below the ancient temple. - - -

Real.... feelings....    ............life.......... death........... colliding.........

In a burst of bloodlust and foaming fury, Kain sits up from the coffin... tearing the lid from its hinges in a sudden burst of strength and rage. A momentary memory flash of the last moments of his existance... at the mercy of a puny... Sellini.

As fast as he rose, the vampire sunk again clinging shakily to the edges of the coffin. He didnt even realize the beast mans body he just shredded to a bloody thin ribbony mush as he sat up. His strength was nothing near what it should be... he needed blood... and lots of it. His red hellish eyes looked up to the nearby dangling dark elf... instantly making out the heat signature of warm pumping blood. He was too weak however... and could only raise a feeble hand tward the most wanted morsel. However the great vampire Kain was once again denied of his pleasure... the elven bit** vanished a moment later into thin air. This however gave clear view to the one who was holding the darkelf wench by the throat... ...Ehliana...

Kain slumped over... his white hair stringing down over his face as one red orb focused on the female vampire... He began to chuckle lightly at first... then let it grow to a more sadistic cackle before speaking in a raspy gurgling voice... "Well well.... look whos here... to my rescue. Im surprised you had time... from your buisy schedule... to even bother." He remains sitting in the coffin, soaking up what blood surrounds him like a sponge.

The drow's sudden disappearance momentarily stunned Ehliana into silence, and then her rage rose to match that of the newly awakened vampire behind her. Ignoring his sneering, sarcastic words for a moment, her eyes became glowing red with solid black pupils as she sought an outlet for her fury. The vampiress's gaze fell upon the mummies and within seconds she was holding Lihm much in the same manner in which she had just held the drow priestess.

"INCOMPETENT FOOLS! You didn't even disarm her!?!" came the outraged snarl. Ehliana was almost foaming at the mouth she was so mad. Her thoughts were broadcast loud and clear to Anh'Kiadis and the rest of those forces below who could hear her, as well as ringing off of the walls of the room in which she raged. "THE NEXT TIME A CAPTIVE IS BROUGHT TO ME ALIVE, YOU WILL STRIP AND DISARM IT OF EVERYTHING FIRST! IF THIS IS NOT DONE, I WILL PERSONALLY FLAY YOU ALIVE, AND FOR THOSE WHO AREN'T LIVING, I WILL SEND YOU TO THE POSITIVE MATERIAL PLANE TO BURN FOR ETERNITY!" Whether or not the vampire could make good on the last threat would remain to be seen, but she narrowed evil eyes at Lihm and her lips curled back in a feral grimace of hate. "You have failed me again, Lihm. I grow very tired of your carelessness, so I'm going to give you a chance to think about it for awhile."

Pulling a small caterpillar cocoon from inside the low-cut bodice of her gown, she let go of the mummy, stepped back and began to cast a spell upon him. ((Polymorph Other - cast time: 4, save vs. spell, then Int. check)) The arcane words slipped from her ruby lips with growing power and the force of cold hate and disgust that had grown inside of Ehliana. Her gestures were graceful and precise, and the form she tried to force upon the mummy was that of a cockroach.

Location: First sub-level of the Ancient Temple;
Time: Evening (D+1 after the Temple's Destruction);
Battle: PART III of 3 Mass Combat Sequence (Turn 2);

COMBAT SEQUENCE (by Round):

2.6 DROW:
    MAIN TEMPLE:
  • Drow Commander regains her senses, and while watching for her opportunity to escape, must endure the insufferably arrogant Vampire's monologue;

    CENTRAL SECTOR:  In retreat [End Combat].
  • Corridor [125]:
    • Patrol Leader, while moving with the rest of the Drow through a series of rooms into a double wide east-west corridor, orders of the Body Guards and the Healer "Sslig'ne l' linoin ragrubah valm l' izznarg luent-linoin tullus.  T'yin flohlu l' byrren ulu l' huthin harl zik'den'vever.  Udos ph' sut l'harl eairthin tizzinen." [Ward the west passage adjoining the large east-west passage.  Then follow the others to the next sub-level.  We are releasing the Troglodytes.] and going into the room [126] across the corridor, orders the Lieutenant "Dos lu' dosst Ilythiiri kulggen nindol dobor, lu' inbau doeb.  Mumbaro ulu l' harl thac'zil." [You and your Drow block this door (127), and get out.  Move to the lower tier.]  Like the Healer, She begins warding the room against the Undead [Glyph of Warding (3rd), FIRE (8d4)];
    • Body Guards and Healer move to the west passage, and guard against Undead while she invokes Kiaranslee's power [Glyph of Warding (3rd), FIRE (9d4)];
    • SL, ASL, both Mages and the Accolyte move east down the large wide corridor, and take the next corridor going north;
    • Lieutenant orders his Drow out of the room [127] they were to hold, and has them begin barring the door leading to the room they just left;

    EAST SECTOR: Fighting for their lives.
  • Cut-Off Drow make their last attacks [Dagger-Short Sword vs Shadows, HIT (X4, 4-12), 26 hps DMG (4/67)];

        UNDEAD COMBAT STRENGTH:
      • West Intersection (Wight Companies 2, 3, 4 & 12; Shadow Companies 2 & 4):
        2/2 Mummies (28/29 & 26/39), 0/4 Wight [DEAD], 0/4 Shadows [DEAD], 0/5 Animal Skeletons [DEAD], 6/6 Giant Skeletons [44/133], 0/12 Skeletons [DESTROYED], 8/8 Monster Zombies [119/159], 0/13 Zombies [DESTROYED];
      • East Intersection (Wight Companies 13 & 14; Shadow Companies 3, 6 & 10):
        1/1 Mummies (33/33), 0/2 Wight [DEAD], 4/4 Shadows [4/67], 4/4 Animal Skeletons [13/13], 5/5 Giant Skeletons [90/137], 2/6 Skeletons [9/16], 12/12 Monster Zombies [208/310], 16/16 Zombies [84/123];

  • UNDEAD:
    MAIN TEMPLE:
    • Giant Skeleton stand motionless awaiting orders from the Mummy Priests;
    • Dokn and Lihm [actions to be detailed in separate posts];
      WEST SECTOR:
    • Tuhl, left with only the Monster Zombies, holds position outside the closed doorway through which the Drow had disappeared, and awaits the arrival of his reinforcements.  The Mummy Priest informs the other Brethren over the death link 'Hold!  We've arrived at a decision point.  Do we continue to battle the Drow, or do we descend to the lower level and batter down the double doors there?  Keep in mind, we sensed the power of the Wand after the first pair of sealed doors were sundered.  What say you?'  Halm answers for the rest, saying 'We're here to get the Wand, not battle Drow, and waste our forces.  From now on keep the Shadows and Wights in reserve, and let the lesser Undead serve as our shield.  We should replenish our losses, and revive as many of the fallen before breaking the next pair of doors.'  Tuhl bows to the wisdom of Halm, and answers 'Agreed.  Collect the dead, and fall back to the first intersections nearest the stairways.  Stage all remaining Wight and Shadow Companies in these corridors along with the rest of the Brethren save one to command the Ghast Companies securing the main temple complex. Keep the Juju Companies in reserve for now.'  The Priest of Orcus moves back to the first intersection, and mentally commands the Monster Zombies to gather the Drow bodies as the Wights, Shadows, Skeletons and Zombies were destroyed;
    • Monster Zombies collect up a paltry 9 Drow bodies, 10 Ghouls and 2 Ghasts, and after arranging them in the intersection for re-animation, guard the northern corridor;

    EAST SECTOR:
    • Room [128]:  Mummy Priest & Giant Undead [5/5 Giant Skeletons, 12/12 Monster Zombies];
      • Halm, finding the room empty of Drow an obvious trap, orders the Giant Skeletons and Monster Zombies back to the intersection, and has them as well as the Strike Force collect the dead for revival.  The Priest of Orcus gives his reply to Tuhl's query above, and occupies the intersection nearest the east stairs awaiting arrival of the Shadow and Wight Companies;
      • Monster Zombies and Giant Skeletons grab up the four dead Drow and two Bugbear bodies lying in the second intersection, and follow the Mummy Priest back to the first intersection;

    • Strike Force: [0/2 Wights, 4/4 Shadows, 4/4 Animal Skeletons, 2/6 Skeletons, 16/16 Zombies];
      • Shadows attack [MISS, No DMG];
      • Skeletons try to finish off the Drow [MISS, No DMG];
      • Animal Skeletons take down the Drow [HIT (X4 d4) vs 3rd Lv Drow, 11 hps DMG (X4 DEAD)];
      • Zombies grab the four dead Drow, and with the rest of the Undead, return to the first intersection as ordered;

          DROW COMBAT STRENGTH:
        • West Intersection:

 - - - All Undead 'eyes' turn toward the Vampire and Mummy, and watch the confrontation taking place between the Masters.  Before Ehliana, her minion stood motionless under her command, but as she spoke her magic words and made her gestures, the docile veil of domination drops from the eyes of the Mummy.  Too late to affect the outcome of the Ehliana's spell, Lihm, intent on pummelling into bloody paste the Bloodsucker, slowly lifts his arm, and freezes in place as her magic washes over him.  The Mummy shudders and spasms in its rags.  EACH of its limbs dwindles down into a pair of spindly, carapace-covered, jointed limbs with spike like hairs along their lengths, and in the case of his legs, divide into an additional pair of legs bestowing a grand total of six limbs to the changing Mummy.  Now standing upon four bug-like legs, the power of Ehliana's spell continues to affect Lihm, causing his torso to compress down so his shoulder meet his hips forming the thoracic cavity and juncture of his six new legs.  Obscenely, in the process of his torso's collapse, his spine juts down from the juncture of the six legs until the undead flesh flows over it forming the segmented, carapace-covered, abdominal pod.  As with the torso, the neck of the Mummy also compresses down on to the shoulders.  From the shoulders, a carapace shell grows down the back to cover the abdominal section.  The head flattens, turning triangular, as the eyes bulge outward turning compound in nature, the mouth sprouts mandibles with horizontally positioned jaws, and a pair of antenna sprout from the top.  In the blink of an eye, the Mummy Lihm shrinks down into an UNDEAD cockroach before the eyes of the other Undead, and "starts" to skitter off to do cockroach things. - - -

DEMISE OF LIHM

 - - - Listening to the internal dialogue between Halm and Tuhl, Dokn agrees with the assessment of the elder Priest of Orcus, and turning to carry out the preparations, notices their fearless Vampire Leader going unbelievably crazy again.  As Lihm gets transformed into a cockroach, Dokn inwardly sighs, wondering how that split moment of freedom from the domination of the Vampire felt, and wisely refraining from comment about Ehliana's OWN ineptness for failing to notice the obvious, informs the Brethren over the Death-link 'Lihm won't be joining us.'  Dokn then leaves the Bloodsucker to attend to the freshly revived Vampire Kain, and continues mentally issuing instructions to the other Mummies on the disposition of the Undead forces, telling them 'Vaug remain here in the Temple, and take charge of the Ghast Companies in defense.  Kohm, you're with me.  Take the remaining odd numbered Juju, Shadow and Zombie Companies down the east stairs, and reinforce Halm.  I'll take the even numbered Companies down the west stairs to reinforce Tuhl.'  Vaug nods at the mental orders, and recalls the Juju Companies sent to reinforce the Ghast Companies outside.  Kohm helps  Dokn organize, and send the Undead marching down their respective staircases. - - -

MUMMY PRIESTS & ARMY OF ORCUS

 - - - The screams on the other side of the door continue for a long time before silence finally reigns once again.  It was a safe bet that the mist, whatever it was, was not treating nicely whatever creatures were on the other side of the door.  Anhk decides a change of perspective is in order, and changes into his large black bat form.  Still invisible, the Quasit crawls up the wall beside the door and over the doorway, and clings to the wall over head waiting to see what happened next.  The fresh scent of spilled blood works its way to the sensitive nostrils of the Vampire's Familiar, who quickly grows excited at the prospect of cleaning up whatever munchies might be left behind by the black mist.  As he waited, faint metallic clinking sounds from inside the room beyond the door come to the Quasit bat's ears followed by an ominous creaking sound coming from the door itself.  The sound of protesting metal and splitting masonry grows louder, crescendoing as the door is ripped open to reveal an alarming figure standing in the door.  'Oh, crap!  What is this?' thinks the upside down minor demon as he recognizes the armored figure as the newly reconstituted Beast Man the Ghast had brought to his Mistress. - - -

ANH'KIADIS

 - - - Standing in the doorway, Takileos wears adamantine plate armor specially designed for him by his new Goddess from the belongings of the now dead Drow prisoners, and revels in the intoxicating rush of their blood now hotly coursing through his veins.  Still learning about the new powers of his vampiric existence, the Jackalman is deluged with the knowledge carried in the blood of his recent victims, no doubt the first among many to come.  With feeding comes knowledge imparted by the blood, the Beast Man turns left away from the where the Undead battled the Drow, and leaves the immediate area through doorway out of which the Ghouls and Ghasts had come when the battle first began.  The new Vampire strongly feels a need to find a place to rest, and assimillate all the new knowledge assaulting his fragile mind before carrying out the Goddess' quest.  Taki wanders through several rooms before finding the remnants of a kitchen, and finding the large stoves, changes to gaseous form flowing up into the chimney.  Along the length of the soot covered irregular conduit, it opens into a suitable resting place for the Vampire, who reforms to take his rest. - - -

     - - - It takes Malice a moment to recover from the disorientation of the Dimension Door magic, but as soon as she shake it off, whips out one her daggers.  The bound Priestess uses the blade to saw through her binding, and once freed of the Mummy rags, immediately pulls the disgusting rags which gagged her from her mouth.  The Drow Commander stridently yells out, "Kyorlen!  KYORLEN!!!" [Guards!  GUARDS!!!] and going to the door of her room, opens it to yell "Sila jal l' kul'gobussen dal ninta kul'gobsula.  Ka jala ssuth, dos JAL orn plynn ninta k'lar!  Alu, NIN!"* - - -

     - - - Several puzzled Drow stared at the Commander, who was believed to be with the Patrol Leader on the next level up, but the facts spoken differently as she stuck her head out the door issuing orders to them.  The Guards all rapidly nod, and hasten off to comply with Mistress Everhate's orders. - - -

     - - - As soon as the Guards, Malice slams her door shut, and pulls out the Fiendonomicon from among her possessions.  The Drow Commander lays the red-brass bound book upon her podium before an inscribed mystical pentagram on the floor, and after nullifying the protections on the volume, carefully opens it to the desired spell.  Calming herself, the Priestess of Kiaranslee spends several moments studying the inscribed prayer before she incants the arcane verses which glow with the power of their invocation.  On completion of her recitation, the black candles arranged at the points of the pentagram flare to life and the mystical inscriptions between the concentric circles glow with a crimson radiance. - - -

     - - - In the center of the pentagram, a winged, red-scaled, reptilian humanoid of man size instantly appears, and loudly roars it's joyous release from the harsh existence in Hell.  The Red Abishai looks down at the circle of containment, reaching out to test the effectiveness of the barrier inscription.  The candles flare up brightly a crimson red brilliance, and where the Devil's clawed hand met the resistance of the barrier, a shimmering red opaque wall of force appears.  The Soldier of Hell looks over at the one who summoned him, and regarding the Drow, telepathically states 'Summoned, I appear.  Name the service, I shall render.' - - -

     - - - The Servant of Kiaranslee comes out from behind the podium to the edge of the circle of protection, and also regarding her new partner, softly speaks "Usstan inbal naut aliss quivveden wun l' ultrin onhir tullus yath phor.  Naut-elghinyrr, draa natha sanguine lu' mzil M'thainen d' Orcus tlu 'bgualyiz."**  She walks around the perimeter of the containment inscription, and continues to explain, saying "Dosst emp'poss zhah ulu elgg l' Sanguinen lu' l' M'thainen, drill p'los dos thalra mina, izin uns'aa ulu telanth areion dos ulu mina ust wun ussta ehmtu ssivah."***  Malice stops her pacing, and faces the summoned Baatezu, asking it "Vel'bol zhah dosst an'yui?" [What is your answer?] - - -

     - - - After hearing the proposal of the Drow Commander and considering the cost of battling Vampires and Mummies, the Baatezu Soldier in return mentally replies 'Undead?  Lifeless, souless husks of decaying flesh are of no value to me.  For this service, I demand payment of 6 Drow souls NOW.  Do we have a deal?' and patiently watches for her response.  It was a fair offer especially considering the task. - - -

     - - - Malice would've payed twice that number in souls even at the sacrifice of her own Drow, and nods to the Abishai, affirming "Ves al.  Dosst iiyola orn tlu ghil ulnin." [Agreed.  Your payment will be here soon.]  The Drow Priestess checks the hall outside her door, and is pleased to find her Guards and the prisoners waiting for her.  In the time since Priestess Everhate performed the summoning and concluded her deal with the Abishai, her Personal Guard had returned from retrieving just over half a dozen Drow prisoners from their holding cells, and awaited the pleasure of their Mistress.  All seven prisoners, 1 female, 6 males, are gagged and bound face down on the floor abused and malnourished to varying degrees.  The Drow Commander studies the prisoners, and after several moments, commands of her Guards, "Sweer!  Yutsu l' Yathrin d' Lolth ulu ilta kul'gobsula. Whol ilta houj, il zhal zhaun l' jiv'undus lu' myar tejmook'cinkjuu d' tupora 'zil uss d'lil Dothkarn, vel'drav udos belbau ilta ulu Talliaha." - - -

     - - - Turning her gaze on the 6 male prisoners, the Priestess of Kiaranslee invokes her innate Levitation ability on them, raising them from the floor, and drags the chained sacrifices into her room.  Leaving the doomed Drow hanging in mid-air, Malice closes her door, and turns back to the Soldier of Hell, announcing "Rraun Ilythiiri vesdrac, 'zil udos xunus qua'l, whol l' elge d'lil Sanguinen lu' l' M'thainen d' Orcus."††  Mistress Everhate pushes the now screaming Drow prisoners through the containment barrier into the clutches of the Baatezu, and quickly runs back, leaping onto her bed from which to watch their delightful defilement.  The Drow Priestess pleasures herself while watching the hideous demise of the 6 Drow. - - -

    MALICE EVERHATE

    * = Bring all the prisoners from their cells.  If any escape, you ALL will take their place!  Go, now!
    ** = I have uninvited guests in the main worship hall of the temple above.  Undead, two vampires and several Mummy Priests of Orcus to be precise.
    *** = Your task is to destroy the Vampires and the Priests, but before you confront them, allow me to speak through you to them first in my own voice.
    † = Excellent!  Return the Priestess of Lolth to her cell.  For her failure, she shall know the torment and disgrace of becoming one of the Driders, when we trade her to Talliaha (High Priestess of Lolth).
    †† = As we did agree, 6 Drow souls for the destruction of the Vampires and the Priests of Orcus.

    Her fury temporarily sated by the unexpected success of her spell, Ehliana's wicked, gloating smile turned to the other mummies, waiting for them to rebuke her for her actions. In truth, the vampiress hadn't been certain that her magic would have been strong enough to force the change on Lihm. She had created the mummies long ago, and she knew she was taking a huge chance in attacking any of them - Ehliana knew that her control over them would be broken by any attempts against them. That was how the magic worked.

    In her rage, she had accepted the possibility of Lihm's resisting the spell and him attacking her. As the magic snaked through his limbs and his rag-covered body, the undead mistress saw the exact moment he had been freed of her control, saw him raise his arm to cast against her or attack. She had been lucky and she knew it. But then, there had been witnesses to her success, as well, so the risky move had not been completely futile. Perhaps the others would think twice about crossing her, now. Perhaps not. Ehl was satisfied that her spell had worked for the moment, and felt a little better that the price for failing her with such ineptitude and carelessness with the drow prisoner had been addressed. Of course...she was completely unaware of the drama unfolding in the rooms and tunnels below. The vampiress would not have been at all smug if she had known what the lucky drow was up to.

    Ehliana turned her attention back to the newly revived day-walker. The sight of his bloody tissue and muscles was revolting, but she also knew that the more he fed, the better-looking he would become. Sidling over to the coffin, the vampiress understood that without the drow prisoner to feed him, she would have to relinquish some of her own, precious blood of which she had recently partaken. It wasn't a pleasant thought, but she had no recourse, now that the black elf bitch had escaped. She fixed her icy blue eyes on Kain's and extended one pale, beautiful arm, offering her delicate wrist to him. "Drink." She bade him. "But I warn you, Kain. If you get greedy and take too much, it will go badly for you. I won't allow you to suck me dry."

    [For every HD/8hps Kain drains from Ehliana, he regains 2hps back due to the potency and age of blood nutrients (for want of a better description)]

     Coldness again....the sweet warmth had gone away and there was nothing to gain it back.  His eyes normally would have pulsed with rage, but he had not the strength for that.   Then the vampire bitch offered her own blood in  compensation, and that was something the Daywalker could appreciate.  His fangs immediately sank into her wrist, drinking with an almost insatiable thirst.  He continued to feed on the vampiress' wrist until she pulled away from him, wanting to take everything he could to regain his strength.

    " Don't threaten me Ehliana, just find me some fresh food...I need to feed, and your liquid filth does not satisfy me," he Daywalker manages to choke out after he finishes his feeding.  His arrogance is obvious, even in his incredibly weakened state, and his arms continue to shift uncomfortably in the air, almost silently searching for a victim stupid enough to venture close to him.

    Ehliana pulled her wrist away before Kain was even remotely satisfied ((allowing a drain of 2 HD - 16 HP - Kain regains 4 HP from it)) and his words caused the lovely vampiress's face to wrinkle in a snarl. "Liquid filth, is it? You ungrateful wretch, I should let you starve for that. I'm just as hungry as you, Kain." Sensing that the horrid ball of fire had sunk below the horizon, Ehliana decided to take matters into her own hands and go on the hunt. "I'm going out to find food," she told the mummies via the mind-link. "Anh'kiadis, come to me. You will come with me and help me hunt." She looked back at the bloody mess in the coffin with disdain. "I'll be back with fresh blood, Kain. You've waited this long, you can wait a little longer." Shape-changing into her bat form, Ehliana took to the air and out into the evening sky, headed toward the nearby village to find food.

     - - - Before Ehliana finishes polymorphing Lihm into a cockroach and allowing Kain to drain 2HD of her blood, a Soldier of Hell completes the defilement of the six Drow souls bestowed upon him as payment for the destruction of two Vampires and a half dozen Mummies.  The six Larval Minions of the Red Abishai now prowl the alleys and streets of Menzoberranzan, preying on slaves of any race and other unsuspecting Drow.  The Devil. appeased with the payment, carries out its instructions. - - -

     - - - As Ehliana flies on her merry way to the village, the Vampire only gets as far as the sundered doorway when a bloodish red 'wall' suddenly appears before her, and like fly-swatter, slaps her back the way she came into the main worship hall [no dmg].  Having Teleported without error not a moment before the Bloodsucker would've flown passed, the Baatezu grins toothily as the large black bat tumbles to halt among the debris and rubble, and insincerely telepaths to the Undead 'Ooops, my bad."  The tall, winged, reptilian humanoid steps inside the main worship hall, and mentally announces "I have a message for you!"  The Minion of Hell taps into Malice Everhate's mind, and in her Drow accented voice, mockingly sneers "It was SOO good to meet YOU face to face, if only for such a short moment.  Sorry I couldn't stay longer to chat, but pathetic, incompetent Orcus scum just aren't my type!"  The Abishai increases the volume of the Drow's Priestess' voice as she screams out her message back in her personal quarters "You will never reclaim the Wand!  Our Goddess Kiaranslee will reign supreme.  All Undead will bow at Her feet, or be utterly destroyed like the Worm you serve!!!  Annihilate them all." - - -

     - - - After Drow Commander finishes delivering her ultimatum, the Soldier of the Infernal Layers takes a few steps further inside the temple, and stretches his wings to their fullest extent, limbering them.  The Abishai had used one of them to swat Ehliana back into the temple as she tried to leave.  Flexing his claws and swishing his spear tipped tail back in forth, the Hell Spawn prepares for battle, and as he does so, cordially states via telepathy over the death channels "Right, now that we've got the unpleasantness out of the way.  Let's do this easy way.  All of you come along quietly with me back to Hell, so my friends and I can slowly destroy you at our leisure without a whole lot of fuss and ugliness." - - -

    Her bat-form was knocked to the ground and Ehliana immediately began to shift back to her normal humanoid form in time to hear all of the arrogant drow priestess's message. As she shifted, she regained her feet and prepared to fight the minor devil, although she hadn't much experience with such foes. She heard the telepathic voice in her mind and grimaced, knowing that Kain would probably be useless to her in his current state. The vampiress wasn't about to blithely go along back to Hell with the Abishai. She suspected her magic wouldn't have much effect upon the demonic creature, but Ehl was a mage, not a fighter, and so her mind was indeed her best weapon. The beautiful undead woman knew exactly which spell she would try first, as she got her feet under her and tried to put a small bit of distance between her and the devil. ((Assuming that she has to shift back this round. Will attempt to cast next round.))

    (( OOC: I'm having some MSN problems with the tables and stuff...forgive my "plain looking" post, hopefully I can fix it later.))

    Kain hears the crashing and thunderous voice of some creature, and knows trouble has shown up.  Although still weak (7hp) , the Day-Walker knew he couldn't leave Ehliana to fight something alone.  Getting up and moving to the general area, his eyes widen at the demon that has been summoned against them.  Kain uses his enormous strength, grabbing the coffin he resided in.  Being a daywalker, he had no value for this hunk of wood, and proceeded to hurl it at the Baatezu Soldier, frantically trying to think of a way to battle against this foe.  He would collect any weapons surrounding him, and try to stay away from the Abishai.
