Siannodell marched with the Selenni, her head held high and her bearing proud. Clothed in her white robes of holy office, she strode through town to the edge of the fields, heading towards the arenas. There was a slight frown on her normally kind, elderly face, and her brown eyes said volumes about her mental state at the moment. The high priestess of Meilikki looked as if not even the Gods themselves could sway her from her current mission; she looked determined. Her thick, heavy oaken staff thunked the ground with each step, and she glanced at Hi'el every now and then, wondering silently what had gotten into the Shadoweir. He did not seem himself.

As they approached, her soft, brown eyes scanned the chaotic scene of the arenas with great distaste. Her lips wrinkled into a moue of disapproval, and she hoped to herself that perhaps the Trinity would show up to help back their cause. She looked around for someone that seemed to be in charge, her gaze taking note of the large center tent in the arena fields. As she and Hi'el passed by numerous cages, her eyes grew darker and darker with unspoken anger. By the time they reached the tent, her scowl was complete, and her jaw tightened perceptibly in anticipation of the arguments to come.

Siannodell smiled worriedly as Arienne approached. "Mistress Arienne, Thank Meilikki you’re here," she said warmly, laying a hand upon the elven maiden’s arm. "Hi’el and I came to make sure that Elmshade will not be further corrupted by the "games" and "activities" of this offensive place. We have asked to speak with their leader, apparently someone by the name of Weremachtt." The elderly woman shifted uncomfortably on her feet and her anxious look deepened. She motioned to Gillette. "That elf, over there, is apparently the spokesperson for them, and he has not impressed me overly much as being couth." The high priestess of Mielikki glared at Gillette as she spoke.

She looked back at Arienne. "The Weremachtt spoke to us in our heads, Arienne. I think they have mind powers, so beware if they should try to use them on you. There are many things he said, in fact, and I would like to discuss some of them not only with you, but with him, as well. He said they would wait for you and the others before having a meeting. I would ask to be present in this meeting. They have not...openly threatened us, no..." Her brown eyes shifted uncomfortably to Hi’el. "And I am sorry, Hi’el, but your disposition would perhaps be more volatile then needed inside. I would ask that you stay outside and perhaps do as the Weremachtt suggested and investigate the treatment of the animals and...the others..." Her glance at him was sorrowful and tinged with regret that she had needed to even utter such words to him. Siannodell knew he meant well, but she was hoping to avoid another war for the village that would cost more lives, and destroy more of the land. She looked up and smiled again as she saw Raven approaching them. When he arrived, she told him basically the same thing she had just told Arienne.

Arienne frowned again and narrowed her eyes at the albino elf as Siannodell spoke. She still did not like that one, and could very easily believe what the high priestess said about him. She smiled as she saw Raven approaching them, thinking that as soon as Silvara arrived, they would definitely need to meet this Weremachtt. When Gillette stepped forward and made his comments, she had an overwhelming desire to wipe the smug look from his countenance with a feeblemind spell or something similar. Her blue eyes regarded him coldly and she deigned to speak to him barely with a civil tongue. "You," she said, her voice dripping with ice. "Do you then speak this Weremachtt’s wishes?"

Arienne approached him and studied him intensely. "The Selenni does not speak for the Trinity Council. If anyone delivered an ultimatum, then it was premature, as we have not yet even held palaver with your leader." Her gaze flicked to the green, magical sphere and another frown marred her elven beauty. "If you do, indeed, wish to war, then let it be known that you will have started such, without even offering parley to the rightful guardians of this realm. Perhaps you are not intelligent enough to recognize the truth of who rules this village and the surrounding lands. If you had bothered to consult with us before setting up," she waved her hand around the encampment but did not take her eyes from his. "Then this confrontation could very well have been avoided. If you would run along and inform your master that we desire an audience with he or she, then we would appreciate it." She smiled sweetly at him, but her sapphire eyes were arctic and sparkled with her dislike of the "elf".

Raven listened to them babble and threaten, he shook his head, and a frown came to his brow. He looked to Arienne, and Hiel, and the Priestess. "Arienne, Hiel, and everyone else! Calm yourselves! These glares and idle threats are benieth all of us, and should not continue. Elmshades doors are open to all weary travelers, merchants, and Lords. It has always been that way, and all of you know it. This gladiator circus is as welcolm here as would a traveling band of gypsies would be. We cannot expect every traveler that comes here to know our laws and ways..."... Raven then looks to the pale elf...".. as we expect they know that we do not know their ways..... And no thank you kind sir, I am fine."
Raven looks back to Arienne and the others... "We will wait for Silvara to arrive, then we will talk to Weremacht like the civilized people we are."

Siannodell's grip on her staff tightened once more and she rolled her eyes, shaking her head in disdain at Raven. "Do you really think they understand that word, Master Stormcrow?" she asked him, using her staff to point. "I saw that elf almost break a man's arm for what reason, I'm sure I have no idea. They have slaves here, Raven. Slaves! They offer death matches! They hunt Mielikki's creatures for naught more than sport and to turn a profit!" Her dark brown eyes held Raven's and they crackled with indigantion. "You know that Elmshade is a peaceful village. Full of good people, I say. They do not need to be corrupted by such as this Weremachtt offers! We were fine before these people came, we can be again. Do not let them fool you, I pray." She looked over at Arienne, her gaze full of pleading. "Talk to them if you must, but please do not let them fool you into thinking what they do is harmless."

Raven leans forward on his staff looking directly at Siannodell. "I am nobodys fool Priestess. I accomplish such a feat by keeping an open mind to other cultures and civilizations. If you have not noticed by now, these people are not from our world. How they got here I dont know that either. But I do know that if they meant harm to this peaceful village, they could have done it weeks ago."
Raven leans back, continuing... "Yes it seems they have slaves. Yes it also seems they prefer deathmatches, and hunts of our animals here. But think a moment. Perhaps this behavior is normal where they're from, and they dont know any other way to survive or act. It is our responsibility to show them the correct path, and behaviors of our world. You of all people should want this Siannodell, the chance to show them the error of their ways, and convert them to a less violent way of life. Or perhaps I expect too much from you... High Priestess of Mielikki." Raven tilts his head to her with a smile, awaiting her answer to this holy question.

The older woman shook her head and sighed unhappily at Raven. "Of course I don't think you're a fool, Raven. But how do you know these people come from another world? And how do you know they mean us no harm? The scouts that investigated when they first set up camp were badly beaten from what I hear." She looked around, taking in the foreign designs and attire of those she saw. "True, they don't look like anybody from these parts, but they could merely be from some far off country, although," she paused with a frown. "I don't know how they got here, either, and it really makes no difference." Her brown eyes looked back at the albino elf who was smirking at them with a self-satisfied look of having gotten his way. The priestess' nose wrinkled the slightest bit and she looked back at Raven.

"Of course I would welcome the chance to convert them," she agreed. "But I don't think they'll listen to me, old friend. Maybe to you, Arienne and Silvara, since the three of you are responsible for what happens here. But they're secure in their way of life, it seems, and not only that," she paused and brought a frail, thin-skinned hand to her temple, as if her head hurt, closing her eyes. "Not only that, but they speak inside our heads, instead of face to face. That makes me think they have something to hide." Siannodell opened her eyes again and favored the White Mage of the Trinity with a thoughtful, saddened look. "And as far as converting them to a less violent way of life, tell me, Master Raven, how often have men changed to follow goodly ways when there's so much gold for profit's sake that would keep them doing what they do?"

Siannodell knew that she spoke truth, and that Raven, as fond as she was of the man and what he had done for the village, would have no answer to that question. She, too, leaned heavily on her staff, seeming to draw some small comfort from it. "Maybe you expect too much from them," she countered, stung by his reproachful tone to her. She looked sadly at Hi'el and then to Arienne, and finally glanced once more towards the towers, silently wishing that Silvara would make haste so that they could all begin the meeting in earnest.

Raven placed a caring hand on Siannodells shoulder, and a warm smile across his face. "You are one of the strongest people I know priestess, in heart and in mind. It is true we dont know that much about them, and so far their ways have prooven to be shady in the least. All I ask..." he glances at Hiel as well... "..is that we give them the chance to explain themsevles. And not go off half-cocked with accusations and threats. If they proove to be what you and Hiel say they are, and they refuse to change their actions to accomidate our laws here. Then we will kindly ask them to leave."
Raven leans in again tward her... "Forgive me if I have hurt you with my words Priestess, I just prefer to give everyone a chance is all." he takes her hand, places a Good Berry in her palm, and gives her a wink.
Raven then straightenes and looks to Hiel... "I believe you wont be needing those for the time being, so if you dont mind Hiel... " ..he looks down to Hiels wapons in his hands... "... put those away."
Raven then looks around himself, wondering where Silvara is.

 ~ ~ ~ Staring daggers at the tall elf, Hi'el does not allow his gaze to waver from Gillette except when he hears the powerful wing beats of the wyvern braking to land fifty feet away.  He glances at the great beast, Arienne and the unknown passenger with her then back to the albino elf.  He'd never turn his back on this one.  The Silenni, his equine ears slightly twitching in the direction of Raven's arrival, steadily stares at Gillette, and begins to calm down now that two of the Trinity Mages had shown up to this place. ~ ~ ~

 ~ ~ ~ On the verge of answering Raven's question "Why does Hiel have his swords out?", Gillette interrupted speaking more lies to the Mage by saying "Just delivering YOUR ultimatum to us." which further angers the Shadoweir.  Glaring at the tall elf, Hi'el hisses at him and tightens his grip upon the sabers held reversed with the tips aimed at the ground.  Intent on declaring his unswerving loyalty and enduring service to Mielikki, he takes a half step forward toward Gillette, but stops in mid-step when Siannodell speaks his name, saying "Hi’el, I understand your anger...".  He hesitates quietly listening to her words then bows his head to her, and respectfully steps back taking his place behind her. ~ ~ ~

 ~ ~ ~ At Arienne's approach, he also bows to her then remains stoically silent behind Mielikki's High Priestess.  With his blades loosely held reversed, he stares solely at the tent beyond the tall elf and nothing else  while belying his calm outward state, his tail still lightly brushes side to side beneath the cover of his illusion. ~ ~ ~

 ~ ~ ~ When Siannodell complete's her exchange with Arienne and then turns to tell him, "And I am sorry, Hi’el, but..." he slowly looks down at her non-pulsed almost surprised even for several heartbeats then just as slowly nods his acquiesence.  He turns to go, but pauses when Raven instead of supporting the cause of Mielikki begins treating the situation like a sociological and theological debate. The Silenni frowns at Raven's attitude then softly places his hand upon Siannodell's shoulder to whisper "High Priestess, you and I both know that our Goddess would not abide these... beings who condone slavery, bloodsports or wantonly defile Her Forest.  With your permission, I'll return to the Temple.  I strongly feel the need for prayer." and glances disapprovingly at Gillette and then Raven.  He pulls free another of their flyers, and slings it fluttering to the ground at the Mage's feet where it luckily lands written side up.  The Shadoweir coolly says "No explanation needed.  They've..." indicating those about them with a head nod "elloquently indicted themselves about what they believe in, and it absolutely runs contrary to what Mielikki upholds.  And I'll be the judge of when and where my weapons are needed.  Thank you very much.  I'll be returning to the Temple now.  May the Blessings of Mielikki shine upon you and bring a peaceful accord to this situation.  High Priestess, I need to speak with you when you return."  He bows to Siannodell, Arienne and Raven and starts back toward the Temple. ~ ~ ~

The tension tore at Siannodell's heart as surely as anything else might have done. Raven's words and his gift of the berry did not assauge her unease much, though she appreciated the gesture somewhat. She forced a small smile for his benefit, but her deep, doe eyes were still troubled and her brow still held a small frown. "With all due respect, Raven, please don't patronize me. I agree to allow them their say, and only then decide how to respond, but," she paused and looked at Arienne as if for support, then back to the White Mage. "What Hi'el says is very true. The Goddess would not abide such...practices, and you know it."

Her saddened eyes turned to Hi'el, showing her complete agreement with his attitude, if not his methods. She studied him quietly for a long moment, sensing something in him beneath the surface....something that was surely troubling him greatly. It showed in his quickened anger, his venomous tone, and Sia found herself wondering for the second time that day what had gotten into him. If it were simply the stress of having to deal with this situation, the High Priestess hoped that it would resolve itself in a peaceful manner soon. "Hi'el," she said quietly and pulled him to the side, her concern evident in her mannerism and gentle voice.

She stared deeply into the Shadoweir's eyes and laid a soft, comforting hand on his shoulder. The smile she gave him was sincere and full of peace and faith. "I think that you returning to the temple for prayer is a good idea. You seem much troubled, my son, and I wish to help, but we must first make sure these infidels don't cause war within Elmshade." She sighed and then drew him to her in an unexpected hug. As she hugged him, she whispered, "Have faith, Hi'el. If necessary, we will call upon Mielikki and Her forces here in the forest. Keep faith, my friend. We will prevail. I will see you hopefully before the sun sets this evening, but don't be alarmed unless I don't return by daybreak. Now, go find peace...and be strong in your convictions. We will talk more when I return to the Temple." She gently released him and smiled beatifically at him, the smile of her faith softening her elderly face and taking years from it, making her seem much younger. At that moment, Hi'el saw how very beautiful Siannodell had been when she was a young woman, and wondered briefly at how hard the choice had been for her to devote her life to her holiness and her Goddess and never taken a mate. She would have had such beautiful children....

Rolling his eyes unconscientously he whispers, "Yes milady, I do have authority to convey the vices. We have a distinct hierarchy here. My liege conveys her wishes at this very moment!"

He retorts with eyes that flick to HT,  He thinks to himself "It would appear your the residents don't grasp who is in command any better than we."

Outwardly his piercing eyes peer from betweeen the white thin strands of blowing long hair. Thru clenched teeth he replies calmly "The parchment flyers we incorperated have accomplished their intended task. Insomuch as the medium to inquire of the local regency. It was not our priority. A thousand pardons my comrades

And here you are. All very convienent wouldn't you concur?

But of no cosequence, I ramble again. I shall serve you as you desire"

He smiles from the corner of his mouth watching the other proceedings from a small distance. The cross armed elf witnessess the mutant saunter away.

His brow furrows ever so lightly at that. That was not what he had hoped for

Standing in the waning light Gillette asks "Will you stand the night or shall we retire to more comfortable accomadations this eve? If your aquaintence happens along we can glady show them to you.

Her majesty has desire to make you comfortable and welcome. The grand halls await your company if you so wish. "

Suddenly near the conglomeration of people, a purple smoke began to form. It shaped itself in the female form. As the mist cleared, Silvara turned to face the people. She looked to her two counterparts. She walked to them and bowed. "I'm sorry you two. I had some business to take care of before I could come here. But I'm here now. What have I missed?" She looks to the two and remains silent after the fact.

Siannodell worriedly looked after Hi'el as he departed and then made her way back to the others, gladdened to see that Silvara had finally arrived. She heard Gillette's question and nodded to the others, standing straighter and grasping her staff. "I think that's a wonderful idea. Welcome, Silvara. We're going to speak to the person in charge of this...this place," she finished politely, though it was apparent that 'place' would not have been her first choice of wording. The priestess brushed at her long, white robes subconsciously, and turned to Arienne and Raven, waiting for them to lead the way.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Arienne smiled and dipped her silvery head in greeting as Silvara appeared. "Hello, sister. We're here to parley with the Weremachtt and discuss terms for them remaining here in Elmshade." Siannodell began to speak up at that, but Arienne's glance at her was kind and held a quiet plea to allow them to speak. Arienne's eyes caught the perturbed twitch of the priestess' jaw, and she found herself hoping that they would be able to all come to some sort of agreement that suited everyone. The elven mage could see both sides, and knew that it would only be fair to hear out the Weremachtt. At this point in time, she had no feelings one way or the other about it, except that she knew that she didn't like Gillette. He had tried to purchase Pheryl and Spyke for their "games", and then been highly offended when he had been refused. No, that one seemed "oily" to her, slick and slippery as a serpent, and she didn't trust him. She could be just as cordial as anyone, though, and she smiled disarmingly at him again. "Yes, now that we're all here, please show us to your liege."
Raven watches as the angered Selinni walks away, he can only shake his head and look back to Sia. Raven takes their glares and comments tward him the only way he can... with a shrug. No matter what he says now, their rightouse quest to save ES from the tyranny of this Waremacht continues to close their minds. He had tried to give them a glance at the possibility of the travelors viewpoint, and the cultural differences between them. They could only see their barbaric ways of life, and their violent nature. Raven sighs in relief once he sees Silvara had finally arrived, he gives her a nod and looks to Gillette. "We are ready. Lead on Sir Gillette."
Raven leans on his staff as he follows the pale elf, he glances to the others as they travel to meet with the Waremacht. A look of worry comes across his brow, hoping maybe at least the Waremacht has more of an open mind than most here in ES. With Sia, Arienne, and Hiels attitude tward the gladiators, war may be waged in this forest by morning.
