Ok lets see if I can remember all the details....

 

Well I was dxed in 1997 when I was 21 after stopping depo provera injections. I started seeing my regular doctor due to major pelvic pain and increased bleeding. I was told by some of the nurses there was nothing to worry about everybody has pain with their periods....NOT!!!! Well my regular doc ran all kinds of test including a abdominal and trans vaginal ultrasound and found nothing ...everything normal....he then sent me to a gyn who said that I had endometriosis no question about it..and that I need to have a diagnositic lap. but I did not have insuarance so he sent to a group of doctors that work with you bases on your income....by this time 3 months had passed and I had a lap ....the lap showed I had "classic" endo after the lap the but me on birth control and said I would be just fine in a few weeks....the BC only made things worse and I was in extreme pain....I took several different types of BC but nothing seemed to help

They started me on this lovely medication call Vicodin for pain...this went on for about a yr so finally in March of 98 I had another lap where they removed scar tissue and lasered the endo again. Yet again they increased my vicodin and put me on yet another type of birth control and said everything is going to work out and you will be fine...I spent several and I mean several days/night crying in severe pain and a lot of time in the ER due to pain and really not knowing what else to do ....being treated like a druggy and a loser by ER docs who think they know everything...have been told I have had everything from PID to god  knows what else....I have fired more doctors than I can count on fingers and toes. Have cussed more than that I am sure...one in particular ...I was in the ER one night ...a female resident was examining me while talking to her nurse about the new pool she had just had installed....need less to say I was livid and very ugly to them both....anyway in Jan 98 I was raped which did not helpthe pain by any means and did some internal damage to this day I have vaginal scar tissue...I tried a 3 month trial of Lupron starting in August of 98...BIG BIG BIG mistake....I ended up major headaches, blurred vision, and hearing trouble and MAJOR pain after I stopped taking it....I was suppose to be on a 6 month trial but refused to take anymore after 3 months...needless to say I was in nursing school and trying to move on with my life but that was impossible...I ended up having a hyterectomy at the age of 23 in Oct 99 I started seeing a new doctor in Oct 99 who finally agreed with that the only way I could reduce my pain level would be have the hyst since...my uterus was tilted to the side and back...he told me that even if I was to get PG...there was no way I would carry past 4-5 months...anyway...FINALLY someone that listend and understood where I was coming from ....he was an awesome doctor...he talked to my rape counselor who let him know that I was ready mentally to just get it over with...

I moved to Texas in 2000 and had to find another doc....

 

Again in 2001 I was facing yet another surgery due to having large cyst and major adhesions....I had what they call open laperotomy where they took out my ovaries and tubes...removed adhesions from my bowel and bladder....I was lucky enough that my Gyn gave me an infection during surgery so I got spend an extra 3 days in the hosp getting IV antibotics....

 

Well I still have pain after all that but I have decided to just deal with it and go on about my business....because every doctor that I have talked to has told me " if you have had a hyst there is no way you can have endometroisis"  I refuse to take HRT or any form of estrogen EVER!!!!!!  

 

Anyone who reads this may thing I am a negative person....not negative just very up front blunt and honest...
