Hello ladies,
I've got a little problem and don't know what to do. So, I'm asking you ladies who have had a hysterectomy for some advice.
I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and I am still experiencing the same pain as I did before it. The surgeon who performed the surgery doesn't know what to do for me now and wants me to go to pain management. Well as we all know pain meds only cover up the problems and it doesn't get rid of it. (I do take pain meds) He also thinks that I have nerve damage from older surgeries, but honestly I know that it's adhesions and I know I need to be cleaned out again.

Any advice?

Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope you all are having a wonderful day.

Erica
P.S. Sorry for not posting in a while.

I wish I had some advice for you but if you get an answer please pas it on to me. I had a hysterectomy nearly three eyars ago and still have pain and the same problems, minus the bleeding.  Actually mroeso now as I cannot have relations anymore due to pain.

The only problem with them taking out adhesions if there are some is that cutting out adhesions and the surgery itself can cause more adhesions, catch 22.

I hope you find your answers and sorry I couldnt help.

Sorry Erica..I was having troubles posting..I had two all written up and they didn't show..I had something going on with my puter..grrr..anyhoo I'm trying again... I know what you are saying as far as hyster goes..many of us hyster girls end up with troubles even though we've had "The Cure" to endo..I don't know why docs say that as there are more and more girls that still have issues despite the hyster..and you are probably right...it's probably adhesions..and I've tried many many things for adhesions..I've had the lap/surgery and at first it really seemed to help but then I'd get worse after as every time you have surgery you cause another injury which means the body now sends more adhesions to aid in healing...it's a vicious cycle...so then I tried a lot of natural things...Acupuncture which helped some, nature paths which didn't seem to help with the adhesions, D.O. (doctor of osteopathic medicine) that specializes in manipulation (some physiotherapists do this too) and that helped quite a bit..but I have to say the thing that helped me the most was the Neprinol...it's very similar to the fibrovan but it doesn't have the things for the periods, ovulation etc in it...Mind you the fibrovan is a lot cheaper so might be a better route to go..infact Shellie just posted that the makers of fibrovan have put out one specifically for endo..so you might want to check it out..anyhoo..I had results within 3 days..and I am still helped by it..you start out taking 3-twice a day and then eventually you go on a maintenance program..both companies are really good about answering any questions so you can call them ...As I've told many girls..what can it hurt to take one bottle of it and see what happens?? anyhoo..that's my advice..hope it helps...glad to see you posting again..sorry you are suffering again :(..sending lots of huggz..Angel

Thanks Angel.
What is Fibrovan? I'm going to look it up.

I'm so frustrated and don't know what to do. One doc suggested I see a general surgeon. But who do I pick?
I wish doc's made a web site with their experiences...

Thanks again
Erica

Thanks for your reply.

I know, I know it's a catch 22. But I don't know what to do, I'm so done with this pain. I'm having a very bad day today.
The adhesion's are causing many problems from bowl pain to bladder tenderness where I feel I constinly feel I have to go. Urg!

Erica,

I posted a wealth of information on Fibrovan as well as recently posted some discount information if you wish to order.  Fibrovan is a natural product that dissolves, Fibroids, Adhesions, Endometrial Plugs and Cysts.  Take a look at their website www.fibrovan.com .

Hello...I hope you are feeling better! I also suffered with all the same pain after my hysterectomy. They discovered after a year of tests that I had an ovarian remnant. After being sick for an entire year I went to the doctor and told him I would not leave until they found out what was wrong with me. He decided to look over my ct scan I had a year previous and was telling certain things looked fine...when he told me my uterus looked fine...i said well theres the problem since I dont have one. He then sent me back to the gyno and within a week I was having the surgery. The remnant was trying to ovulate every month and it was just like having a period. When my dr. did the surgery I requested my appendix be taken out as well. They really didnt want to remove them because they looked so healthy.....they did and they couldnt believe it but the appendix had endometriosis inside of them. I have since had another remnant removed and still occasionally have pain in my side and lower back pain.

It is your health and be persistant with the doctors. They had actually sent me to a chirpractor and he laughed and told me he could find no reason for my pain. I have lived with this so many years and know that you have to be the one to insist they find what is causing your pain. My second surgery also took about a year until they found out what was wrong but I kept looking until I found a doctor that took me serious and believed me. Good luck and hopefully you will find some answers.

May you have pain free days!
Debbie
