Thanks for the other post Angel.
Yes I did have my teeth out a few weeks ago, 6 on top(all I had left there) and two on the bottom. I finally can get the full top denture *cry*, I am only 34, out and in easily without having to use Oragel to compeltely numb my gums and even then it hurt from ulcers.
The procedure wasn't bad. I took valium twice, the night before and the morning of. Then they had me drink a bottle of antihystamine and yes I mean a bottle. Then they gave me laughing gas and an IV. When they woke me up my denture was already placed in. They oral surgeon helped me to the wheelchair, then to my car and then buckled me in teh passenger seat. Yes, the surgeon himself, not a nurse.
It hurt REALLY, Really bad to take them in an out for the first few weeks. My gums would bleed. It would take 10 to 15 minutes to get them in or out. Now less than one minute.
I still can't really eat, can't chew. Needless to say I now HATE pudding. It hurts when I bite down and the denture pushes up in front and pops in teh back, I dont have back molars so until I get a bottom partial, unfortunately next spring due to insurance, I am miserable.
Besides when I eat though it doesn't really bother me and wear it 99% of the time.
Sorry for rambling.
