Bringer Of Courage Archangel Michael  February 1, 2005 Guardian angels are often spoken of in vague terms. True angels, however, are embodiments of the greater good and the ideals that we strive for. The Archangel Michael, a warrior and peacemaker, can be called on in times of distress, confusion, negativity, and fear. He stands for protection and assistance in times of need, regardless of the severity of that need. This impartiality and willingness to lend his power makes the Archangel Michael accessible to all. Michael is most often depicted with a gleaming sword and shield, for he is both a protector and a destroyer. As a bringer of courage, he protects us from our own fears and negativity. He lifts us above conflict, infuses our spirit with strength, and brightens the dark times by asserting that the universe is a benevolent companion, and not an adversary. His spirit drives away negativity in the home, outdoors, and within relationships. Yet the Archangel is associated with the fires of purification, which burn away that which hinders or hampers us. He cuts the ties that bind us to those ideas, people, and things that no longer serve us in a positive way. But just as we can call upon the Archangel Michael for guidance, so does he call us to honor the spirit of truth, awareness, and integrity, and to be open to the opportunities presented to us. A vision of the Archangel, during meditation or a daily affirmation, can often indicate that you've hit a stumbling block in your destined path or that you could benefit from a new source of inspiration. He brings the knowledge that within each of us lays the ability to achieve great things and a reservoir of untapped wisdom. Simultaneously, he cuts down the notion that we are not good enough to succeed. To access that knowledge, it is helpful to dedicate a candle to Michael and to simply let the wick burn for as long as feels appropriate, or to write him a letter outlining your cares and concerns. Thus called, Michael moves through us, empowering us with his spirit. Though our actions are our own, he assists us in transforming our self-limits into potential, inspires us into acting on our courage or our passions, and helps us understand that we are never alone.
