My poor baby fell down the basement stairs last Thursday. We rushed him up to the ER where he was x-rayed and examined. He's fine. Today he started Topamax. The goal is to have him on Topamax fully and take him off of Tegretol. He's regressed in his academic skills. His reading was at 2.3 and is now at 1.5. This is normal for him. All we need to do is start at where he is at and go from there.
Sam, I am so relieved Dom was not seriously hurt on the stairs. I know with you as his mom he will progress along very quickly. He will be in my prayers tonight. Lori
Hi Sam. I also wanted to let you know I have been looking into getting a SR dog. I found a website for people who need one or have one. I can't believe how expensive they are..approx 6,000. do you know of any places that sponsor dogs or charge less money? thanks Lori
Thanks Tammy and Lori! He's fine. Lori send me the links of those companies you looked up and I'll see what I can find out. My e-mail is [email protected]. What state are you in again?
Glad to hear he is doing ok. Thank God he didn't break anything. Gotta keep a close watch on those little ones. They can be climbers. I know myself when I was little got on top of the frig. Jana
Hello! I just read your discussion. I got my service dog through Paws With A Cause. You don't pay for it. It is a non profit and rely on donations. I wanted my dog sooner so I raised the funds on my own. At that time it was $18,000 for a dog. They also have an endowment fund set up and will train me a successor dog also. They are the oldest training center in the US. Another thing I like about them is that they come to U. That means that U don't have to come up with travel expenses on your own. Most places have U travel to them to train with the dog. Yadda, Yadda. I think they are the best for people who cannot travel. You can contact them at 1 800 Paws or Paws With a Cause.org. Just my 2cents worth if this helps. I am very happy with them and wouldn't have done it any other way. Good Luck!!!!!
