Angry Iraqi throws shoes at Bush in Baghdad

Among Muslims, throwing shoes at someone, or sitting so that the bottom of a shoe faces another person, is considered an insult.

The man was dragged out screaming after throwing the shoes. Bush ducked, and the shoes, thrown one at a time, sailed past his head during the news conference with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in his palace in the heavily fortified Green Zone.

As the man continued to scream from another room, Bush said: "That was a size 10 shoe he threw at me, you may want to know."

Bush had been lauding the conclusion of the security pact with Iraq as journalists looked on.

Bush landed at Baghdad International Airport on Sunday and traveled by helicopter to meet with President Jalal Talabani and his two vice presidents at Talabani's palace outside the Green Zone.

It marked the first time he has been outside the heavily fortified Green Zone in Baghdad without being on a military base.

The visit was Bush's fourth since the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

{ I'm surprised the secret service didn't wrestle the shoes to the ground? Don't get me wrong as I'm glad he wasn't hurt but I hope the video is on television news tonight as I would pay money to see that. Too funny!}

Bwa HA ha Ha ha!

Bush is really popular in Baghdad, isn't he?

Dana Perino thought she was being a bad ass and thought she'd wrestle this reporter to the ground, and ended up getting a black eye as a result!

Stinky,

My sarcasm is based on how Bush and all his cronies have been out on the road talking about his legacy, and how the Iraqi people love him for liberating them from Saddam.

They really love him, don't they?

One guy throws his shoes, his fellow Iraqis take him down.  What is your point?

I'd spit in Bush's face if I had the opportunity.

That guy that threw his shoes, made a pretty good shot.  Now I'm wondering if he did hit him, then bush just might know what pain feels like.  It's too bad that he missed.

If I saw bush face to face then I wouldn't mind hitting him in the head or face with a baseball bat.  He can go to any foreign country and start a war for no reason, but he can't do anything at all for America.  What is his problem?  Maybe his butt is full of bricks.

Khafeshu! means "shut up" in Arabic languages. Hurling a shoe is the physical gesture of the same expression. The man was telling Bush to shut up.

Since just after the fall of Saddam and our invasion all we have heard is how we have "Liberated" Iraq, made them a Free and Democratic Society" <which if you read their constitution and local laws that is not exactly true either>  So this man was just exercising his new found "Freedoms" and rights to dissent.

Yes I laugh, I rolled on the floor laughing as a matter of fact at this man showing his disdain for Bush.....The only regret I have is that it was not me that had the opportunity to show my own disdain for this lamest of lame duck pResident.
And before its even asked, YES,... should Obama or any other president invade another nation on false or misleading information,  cause an civil war, cause that country to be invaded by terrorist causing death and destruction, that were not there before, destroy that countries infrastructure so bad the citizens can not even get basic food, water and electricity, directly or indirectly cause 100's of thousands innocent deaths, bring in non military guns for hire that commit murder and crimes against the citizens for which no one is held accountable and the victims will never recieve any justice for and countless other atrocities too many to mention here..I would laugh just as much should one of that countries citizens throw a shoe or even a rotten tomato at him.

As bad as Bush is, no one should be praised for assaulting a president of the United States. It might make us gleeful in private, but publicly we have to condemn it. Jeering is one thing. Launching a physical attack is another.

I read this morning that the attacker was beaten by police. I'm opposed to that, but I think he should do time. It has to be against the law, and there has to be a penalty.

I'll just say that bush is very corrupt and a very bad president and anybody in Iraq should get away with anything they do to the bastard that started a war in their state.  It looks like bush can't even tell himself that it's past time to fuckin' leave there, they sure don't want the U.S. there any longer.  Don't you feel like an American because bush has killed so many people there, it's too bad that some were related to that journalist?  It just might be better if that jackass that he said could play president in Iraq doesn't have any courage at all, he should kick bush's ass as far as it will go, just to let him know that bush can't even think straight.
FUCK bush he's nothing but a lying murderer that loves to rob others.

Assault? You call that an assault? The "assailant" should be criticised for missing and for not using grenades. The US has killed or has arranged to have killed the national leaders of other countries, why should the US be exempt?
