We are in 09 and London ushered it in with a fantastic firework display. It gave me an uneasy feeling about bread and circuses. Perhaps that is just me and my Methodist heritage. I LOVE new years! This one is coming in with wind and rain. We're supposed to get a new storm today. But when it's over, everything will be washed clean. Of course there may be limbs lying in the yard, but Barack will be inaugurated on the 20th, and even before that, the second season of Damages will start Jan. 4. Glenn Close, don't you know. And there are hints that Ted Danson wasn't killed after all.

Happy New Year to you PikesPeak and everyone in here.  I really hope that 2009 will be great for all of us.
 
I thought I was the only one in here that didn't care for New Year's eve parties.  Guess I'm not now and I feel the same as most of you.  I know I'm always asleep before midnight, but my husband must be a light sleeper.  Around this part of town is where he hears all the fireworks, firecrackers and gunfire going off at midnight.

Actually, the second season of Damages starts on Wednesday. I'm starting off the new year by being mistaken.
