This summer I canned tomatoes, green beans, corn, and Bread & Butter Pickels.
The veggies I will use this winter when I make my homemade vegetable soup and cornbread when there is snow on the ground and I'm inside looking out.

Nacho,  Hubby buys all the jars at the hardware store here but I don't know what they cost.  Somewhere around $11.00 a case is what I think. 
 
Do you have Gala apples in Michigan?  I'm having trouble finding good Gala apples since moving here.  I could get really nice ones in Texas but haven't been able to find good ones here.  Wal-Mart carries them but they are small.
