It's strawberry season here in Michigan! My favorite time of year! Nothing better than a Michigan strawberry! If you've never had one, you don't know what you're missing! Nacho! |

The very best strawberries are the alpine strawberries we have growing semi-wild in our garden. At 4 to 5 mm across they are very intensely flavoured - more of a treat for when we are pottering in the garden rather than a fruit we would bring in for a meal. |

John, We grow a variety here called "Jewels" that are outstanding! Deep red in color through the middle of the berry, very sweet, and they hold well, too! A wonderful fruit! Always freeze these things when possible, they'll hold through the winter, and they'll eat well all year long! Nacho! |
