The words are gorgeous, Pikes. What translation is this? I can hear the sounds, but not the tones. Sometimes I can tell what the piece is by the rhythm ("Moonlight Sonata," for instance). And I was suprised and pleased to be able to hear that aria from "La Rondine" on an episode of The Sopranos the other day. I must fill in a lot with my mind that I can't actually hear. Opera is easier to hear than other singing, but it's frustrating to hear it imperfectly. |

"...there are nerve cells similar to those of the brain, that are believed to store memory."
That is positively facinating, Pikes. Can you point me to an article? |

"I can no longer hear music..."
I am deeply saddened to learn this, Belle. Can you hear any sounds? Voices? Horns? Anything? |

Brahms took it from a Lutheran German Bible, and this is the English translation from that. If opera works better for you, this might be possible, since it is orchestral, choral, and vocal. If one can imagine a Smiling Saviour as Shepherd with humanity at His feet, receiving comfort following a life of hardship, that is how this music gently wraps the soul. This is the most comforting work of which I know. |

Ah! Just read #28. Please disregard #31.
Or as Emily Laticia would have said, "never mind!" |

Belle, I am glad you will be able to hear my poetry! Darn! Was that selfish, or what? But, it's still true. I so look forward to reading you some of them. I want to watch your face as I read and hope you will have your eyes closed. |

Guess I shouldn't have said that. Now your face will be ridged. 8'^( |
