I'm sorry, hon. You know I won't post it on Bill's Boards. He's a thief in billionaire's clothing. When we meet though? I will read you my poetry until you beg for mercy!

Wrote another one over the last couple days. During the few months after the heart attack and before the operation they were just pouring out of me. Most I wrote in one day was five poems. Of course they weren't all brilliant, but at least there were lots of them. It has been several months since I've had one come to me, before last week anyway. Feared it was gone for good this time. So, it's really a treat for me to have two come in one week! It just feels good. Can't wait to get together with you 'guys' and bore you silly with my words.

Okay, just to prove I am not making this up. Here is a part of my second to last poem.... Not the whole thing mind you. I simply refuse to give that b*stard Bill anything for free. But, enough for you to see I'm for real....

The title is News

News

Mouthed masks barking
proclamations
interchangeable platitudes
shifting meanings
lacking, substance or
intrinsic value.
Artificial significance
permanently transient
value greatest during
moments of inflated
propaganda.

That should be enough to prove I'm not lying, but not enough for Bill to steal it.

It would have been nice, you know? Some kind of response, even, 'oh my, how iiiiiinteresting! Even better would have been, "golly, I can't wait to have coffee with you and hear the rest." As is it, y'all are dreadfully unsupportive of a rank novice.

Xer, sweetie, I would've posted sooner if the stupid Thunderstorms would just go bother somewhere else and let me keep my 'puter plugged in!

I think your poem is marvelous!  The words are evocative and telling!

Thanks for sharing!

Sir Xer! God told me to look at the Off-Topic board this morning, and what did I find! A piece of one of your poems, which I never expected to find or I would have been looking every day.

From the first line about barking masks, I knew this was The Real Thing. "Interchangeable platitudes" told me barking masks was not a fluke.

I'll learn to drive in Seattle to hear you read.

Gryphon....

Whatever would I do without you? I sure hope those nasty old T-storms blow themselves right away and allow you some golden spring light to bring out colorful flowers to bring a sunny smile to your lovely face! <smooch!>

Belle, I would love to read for you. It's a good thing G-d was paying attention so she could tell you where to come look for a partial poem! I'll read you the rest of it when we have coffee, deal?

May I listen in if I buy the first round?

Xer...the paradox is delicious...

Artificial significance
permanently transient

If only I could see it in its entirety...Apologies for being a latecomer...seems to be life as of late.
