…there’s time?/FONT>

Finally embarking
 The canoe travels upstream
Inky waves
 Mark and mar the shore.

Oh Captain My Captain
 Cries a young voice
Seeking the commander
 She cries o’er and o’er
oar slaps ink
 And they glide.

In their wake
 Are monuments
To moments
 Totems with faces grotesque
Piled grins and grimaces
 Frowning smiling skyward.

Aye!  There’s the rub
 Monuments to moments
Faces piled high
 Oars slapping ink
As they glide
 O’er and o’er
As waves mark and mar
 The canoe slips on?/FONT>

Oh Captain My Captain?BR> She never finds shore.

Xer, do you not like Wagner's music?

Wagner is my choice when I want power music. As Beethoven and Mozart stand alone from the other Enlightenments, Wagner stands alone among the Romantics.

His influence on 20th century is astounding. Star Wars is a space adaptation of The Ring story, and John Williams' music is not only Wagnerian, but he told me, crafted to be like a melodrama, to help the audience boo the villain, and cheer the hero.

No, I don't Pikes. Guess it's a matter of taste. When I listen to Wagner it feels like someone is jumping up and down on my head.

Mozart I love, also Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, Verdi, Strauss... Gods, more than I can even remember to list. Just never cared for Vaahgner's work.

Loved the Elmer!

That's totally OK, Xer. I feel the same way about Mahler, whom I call Mauler.
