Being an incurable vainglorious dandy, I am a bit of a cuff link collector. I thought I'd show you my latest acquisition.

They are great CD. Tell us more about them.  I too have the same dandy characteristics but mine is expressed these days in fancy waistcoats which garment also has a practical purpose of covering up my braces (suspenders in US I think) which since the attack of galloping middle aged spread have become an essential bit of kit.

All I've been able to find out so far is that they are of Persian origin, of indeterminate age. The painting may be on bone (if old) or sime more modern material. I need to clean them so I can get a better look and figure out more.

They are absolutely GORGEOUS!  Do you wear them?  Have a display of some sort?

I wear them. I don't see the point in buying beautiful things and locking them away.It helps that I never spend a lot of money on these things....

When I said "clean" I meant the silver backings. Just to remove the tarnish and see if I can make sense of the hallmark.

Anything "antique" should never be cleaned or restored without prior inquiry to a qualified appraiser. Even cleansing tarnish on the silver could adversely affect their value.

Get that appraisal first, please.

None the less, they are a beautiful set.

That's a good point Pikes; I might consult a dealer.

These are beautiful. I'm glad you wear them, to share them with the general public. I'm very pleased to see them.
