She takes wine
       from a chipped glass.

 

At first, the blemish
       lessens the cups beauty
Then she sees
      a prism
Fracturing light
      arcs of rainbows
illumine the stem.

 

Consuming
      blush of red
         clarity of blue
              pulp of brown
She drinks again.

 

wincing
      she pays the price
for tasting the sky�?/FONT>

 

metallic taste
       crimson drop
               descends

 

                       …this is my blood.
