Seeings how we don't have a medical issues board "Off Topic" was about the only place I could see to put this.......Its kinda a sounding off thread, opinions, and questions about a sensitive subject that most us ladies will experience in our life time

 

 

Let me start by saying I have a mental allergy to Drs. test, pills and examinations, especialy of the female kind.

I am peri menapausal, and while I am suffering some mood swings, bouts of short lived depression and crying cause I can't find the candy corn I bought today. I do not seem to be experiencing many other physical or mental problems.

None that I or those living around me can not deal with...I have not stabbed anyone with dull objects or poked my eyes out with tooth picks...yet.

 

 

And  I am in general good health, with my really only bad habit, besides late night candy corn munching being a smoking .....

My sisters, 5 of them, have all already been through it, and they are all pushing me into going to the dr for pills, shots, hormones or what ever else crazy crap they do to you these days.

 

So far I have refused and unless something drastic happens I probably will continue to do so......This is my reasoning for not....

My mother and her mother and all their mothers before them all went through menapause with no Drs Pills, shots or anything else...So Why Can't I?

 

To me this is just as much a part of the natural female life cycle as was having periods, getting pregnant and giving birth...which I also would have done at home on my own if I had been allowed to......

I have been giving this some thought....As I said all my, and probably your, female ancestors lived through it with out all the medical attention, So why do women of today make it such a big deal?

 

Have We became weaker, less able to handle our own female life cycles?

Or have we just been mentaly manipulated into believing we must have the hormones, and xanax in order to make it through this time in our life?

Is it because of our lifestyles and even eating habbits that makes this natural process something now unbearable for us?

 

I would really like to know what the difference in the menapausal woman of 2008 and the one of 1908 or even 1808......Is it  indeed Diet? ....Is it the medications we have taken in our lifes, including even aspirins Or the immunizations we got as children?

 

Have any of you ever thought about this? Do any of you have any vast knowledge, or wisoms, or even may have read something that might have some clues?

 

I have been to many sites, read message boards etc. and have never even seen these question adressed at all....

 

I feel nervous about posting this and hope I do not offend anyone, embarrass myself  or violate any board rules...I am just hoping that maybe others have asked themselfs some of the same questions or if not maybe give them some food for thought, and spark a discussion and maybe learn something...It is as I said a part of life and the natural female cycle.

 

And BTW, if there is now any male still reading this....Do you have any thoughts, insights or input?
