Danish Butter Cookies
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 pinch salt
2 cups butter
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
5 cups flour
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
Cream sugar, butter, and egg. Beat well, add vanilla. Sift and add dry ingredients.
Shape into small balls (rounded 1/2 teaspoonfuls). Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down with a fork, dipped in water.
Bake at 350ºF for 7-8 minutes.
