Here are some of the HOTEL CHAINS that accept dogs.

V

Because of the huge number of requests from our visitors, we are starting a section dedicated to breaking down the hotels by chains and telling you their overall pet policies and restrictions--if they have any. If you see our little dog (with the checkmark) next to the chain logo, this means you can click on their logo to access an exclusive database dedicated to pet-friendly lodgings for that chain. If our dog is not next to the chain logo, then we simply provide you with the overall pet policy for that chain--and you'll need to go to our US Lodgings section and search for them by city.

The difficulty in giving general information on pet policies is that many chains are not owned by a single parent company, but are franchised out and often owned by many different management companies. These separate owners then set the policies for their hotels. So a "Days Inn" for example might accept pets in some hotels & not others. In other words, to get definitive pet policies on chains is more difficult than herding cats....But, hey, our research team is made up mostly of sporting dogs--which means that they're endlessly optimistic and, to be frank, are not exactly working off a full box of biscuits.

This is just a start to let you know we're on the case. We'll be adding many, many more in the next few weeks. If you are a hotel chain and would like to forward us information, please click here.

With 9 pet-friendly lodgings in 5 Southern states, Crestwood Suites makes a point of advertising that pets are "Very Welcome". Just click here to access our dedicated database of pet-friendly Crestwood Suites.
La Quinta has over 350 pet-friendly locations from coast to coast. Cats and dogs up to 50 pounds are allowed in guest rooms (unless prohibited by law). Housekeeping services for rooms with pets require pet owner to be present or pet must be crated. No fees or deposits are required.

La Quinta knows that your pets are part of the family and they welcome them in their hotels. They only ask that you show consideration for other hotel guests.

At Vagabond, we know that your pet is part of the family. Our Pet Friendly rooms make your four-legged family member feel welcome. With nearly 50 hotels throughout the West, pets are welcome at most Vagabond locations. Policies and fees may vary from hotel to hotel, so it's always best to check with each location in advance about individual policies.

Some tips to remember when traveling with your pet are:

  • Make sure you speak with your veterinarian before traveling regarding vaccinations and paperwork.
  • Bring your pet's favorite toys, medications, ID collars, etc.
  • Please make sure to clean up after your pet.
  • Never leave your pet alone in the room. You don't know what might happen.
  • If you are in the room, please make sure to leave a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. This will help your pet avoid being startled from knocking.
  • Please keep the noise your pet makes to a minimum in order to not disturb other guests.
APlus Lodging operates a portfolio of hotels spread throughout the Virginias. They consist mainly of pet-friendly Econo Lodges and Rodeway Inns.

Their philosophy is simple "a comfortable night's rest at the best value available backed up by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee." They think you should save money while you sleep and spend the savings on enjoying the sights, shopping and eating well.
