That we were contacted by  President Elect Obama's team and asked to pick out the breed of dog that they should get for their little girls to share the WhiteHouse with.

One of his little girls has allergies and they have to choose a Hypoallergenic Dog.

White breed would you suggest:

List of possibly hypoallergenic dog breeds*
Breed Reason cited for reducing allergic reactions
Airedale Terrier
Barbet (dog)
Basenji
Bedlington Terrier Doesn't shed[1]
Bergamasco Doesn't shed[1]
Bichon Frisé Springy undercoat doesn't hold much hair or dander [2]
Bolognese Doesn't shed[1]
Border Terrier
Bouvier des Flandres
Cairn Terrier Sheds little to no hair[3]
Chinese Crested Has very little fur, doesn't shed much [2]
Coton de Tulear Doesn't shed[1]
Dandie Dinmont Terrier Doesn't shed[1]
Fox Terrier (Wire) Sheds little to no hair[3]
Greyhound Short hair, single coat[2]
Havanese Doesn't shed[1]
Irish Water Spaniel Doesn't shed[1]
Kerry Blue Terrier Single-coated, short hair, sheds less[2]
Lagotto Romagnolo
Lhasa Apso
Maltese Doesn't shed[1]
Peruvian Inca Orchid No hair
Poodles of all sizes and Poodle hybrids Single coat, sheds less[2]
Portuguese Water Dog Doesn't shed[1]
Puli Doesn't shed[1]
Samoyed (dog)
Schnauzers of all sizes Short hair, sheds less[2]
Scottish Terrier
Shih Tzu Doesn't shed[1]
Silky Terrier Sheds the same amount of hair as a human[4]
Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Doesn't shed[1]
West Highland White Terrier Sheds little to no hair[3]
Yorkshire Terrier Hair has same pH as human hair

N.B.-*Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a truly non-allergenic or hypoallergenic dog. Dogs (and cats for that matter) produce allergenic proteins that can be found in their dander and saliva, regardless of their breed or the length and color of their hair, or lack thereof. Some may produce more - or less - allergens than others simply because of their individual nature. Allergen immunotherapy may be an option for those who wish to be desensitized to such allergens.

I'm not sure Susan, but I've always wanted a Potugese Water Dog!!  Do you think if I plead my case with Dwight he'll let me?  I mean if the prez' daughters can get a dog, why can't I!!

Maybe a poodle would be a good choice for the girls.

Wire Fox Terrier Personality

Although terrier breeds are generally not considered good with children, the Wire Fox Terrier seem to prove otherwise. It can be quite patient and protective and exhibits moderate dependence on humans. It is fairly friendly even with strangers .

The Havanese is a breed of dog of the Bichon type, which do not shed. These dogs were developed from the now extinct Bichon Tenerife, which was introduced to the Canary Islands by the Spanish and later to other islands and colonies of Spain by sailors. They are very playful dogs and good with older, more considerate children.

I think the poodle would be a good choice for the girls.
They have wonderful temperaments, are very intelligent
and have minimal shedding
