Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm excited about joining a group of dog lovers. I've h ad some kind of dog all my life. I will tell you about myself & my buddy; Missy Mae. I'm a 69 year old retired LPN. I was a nurse in my home's hospital of 40 beds for almost 30 yrs. I have 5 grown children, & 15 grandchildren. One daughter who lives just up the road doesn't have children but doggies. I'm their Grandma. I baby sit them now & then. A great dane, Shadow, a cocker spaniel Keesha, & Winston a bassett hound. They are all precious. I live in south central Nebraska. Have all my life. I love dogs because they give unconditional love. They are always there for you, listen to your secrets, never judge you. My little Missy Mae is a long haired minature dashound. You wonder why only one fur baby? That's because Missy thinks she's the queen & rules the roost. She just does not want to share me or her home. She was a rescued dog from the pound. She was found tied to a dumpster, tired, scared, dirty & starving. My son in law gave her to me for Valentine's day. She weighed in at 8 lbs & scared of everything & everybody. They figured she was about 3 yrs old. Her Dr is pretty sure that she was abused. Didn't take long for her to settle right in with me. She sleeps with me, naps with me, & I take her in the van with me whenever I can. She knows the drive up windows & can easily get into the drawers for her treats. She's a whopping 11 lbs now & the reason I get up in the mornings. I'm going to try & make a photo album. I'm kind of new at this so please be patient. So glad to be here. SweeterMitch/Janie |
