Bandit Dog Doberman Pinscher Size: Large Age: Adult Sex: Male I.D: Notes: Bandit is a wonderful 6 year old male Doberman Pinscher. In spite of having a very unhappy life, until he made his way to Rescue, he is a very loving and loyal companion. As a younster, Bandit fell into the hands of dog fighters. It is unknown if he was trained to fight or used as bait; all we know is that he wasn't what they were looking for, so they sold him as a guard dog. He lived his next 2 years tied out on a chain with no shelter. We discovered him when his former owners placed a "free to good home" ad for another Doberman that they owned, and had him for sale as a guard dog. We convinced them to allow him to also come into Rescue along with the female, who was placed some time back. When Bandit first arrived he did not know that human hands could be kind but soon learned to enjoy human companionship. Unfortunately, his early life had caused him to become very dog aggressive. It took nearly a year in foster care to socialize him to other dogs. Then along came Sadie. She taught Bandit to play and enjoy being around other dogs. They have become very attached to each other and must be placed together. Bandit is now a fun-loving, playful and affectionate boy! He still has some fear and guarding issues and must be placed in a home with an experienced Doberman person. Both dogs are house trained, crate trained, and know basic obedience commands. They will need to live indoors as well as having a large fenced yard for exercise.
