Pan-Seared Tuna with Avocado, Soy, Ginger, and Lime Leaves from 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped 2 jalapenos, sliced 4 teaspoons grated fresh ginger 4 garlic cloves, grated 4 limes, juiced 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/8 teaspoon sugar Salt and freshly ground black pepper 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 4 (6 ounce) blocks sushi-quality tuna 2 ripe avocados, halved, pitted, peeled and sliced In a mixing bowl, combine the cilantro, jalapeno, ginger, garlic, lime juice, soy sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup of olive oil. Stir the ingredients together until well incorporated. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and coat with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Season the tuna pieces generously with salt and pepper. Lay the tuna in the hot oil and sear for 1 minute to form a slight crust; flip and sear the other side 1 minute. Pour half of the cilantro mixture into the pan to coat the fish. Transfer the seared tuna to plates and serve with the sliced avocado and the remaining cilantro sauce drizzled over the whole plate. |

Lemon Tuna PastaCuisine: Kids Category: Kids Servings: 4 Ingredients:4 ts Butter 1 ts Oil; olive 4 lg Garlic cloves, chopped 1/8 c Lemon juice 3 ts Capers, drained 18 Black olives,pitted & sliced 2 cn Tuna; chunk,drained Pasta; penne , cooked anddr 4 ts Butter (add at end)
Instructions:Melt butter with oil in skillet. Add garlic and cook 2 minutes. Add lemon juice, capers and olives and cook another 2 minutes. Turn heat to lowest setting. Add tuna & separate it (do NOT flake) with a fork. Heat through, stirring gently. Drain pasta. Add remainder of butter and sauce to hot pasta, tossing well. |

Grilled" Glazed Tuna Steaks Cuisine: Microwave Category: Microwave Servings: 4 Ingredients:1/3 cup Dry Sherry 1 tablespoon Ginger Root -- minced 1 tablespoon Low Sodium Soy Sauce 1 teaspoon Honey 2/3 tablespoon Garlic -- minced 1 pound Tuna Steak -- cut in 4 pieces
Instructions:Combine Sherry, Gingerroot, Soy Sauce, Honey & Garlic in A 1 Cup Glass Measure. Microwave Uncovered At High 1 Min. OR Until Mixture Boils. Cool Slightly. Place Tuna in An 11 X 7 X 1 1/2 in. Baking Dish. Pour Marinade Overtuna. Cover & Chill 2 Hours. Remove Tuna From Marinade, Reserving Marinade. Preheat A 10 Inch. Browning Skillet At High For 8 Min. Arrange Tuna On Hot Browning Skillet With Thickest Portions To Theoutside. Microwave Uncovered At High For 2 Min. Turn Steaks Over & Baste With Marinade. Microwave At High For 1 1/2 To 2 Min. Let Stand Covered 2 Min. Serve Immediately With Warm Marinade. (May Also Grill Outdoors.) |
