This is Floyd. He will be 11 just after Christmas. He came into my life here at home. I had his mom (my daughters dog) with me and she had puppies. Roz my other mom had pups at the same time. He got confused and went into the wrong bed and Roz and she snapped at him and cut really close to his eye. We were so afraid she did damage to it that we kept him. One evening I came home from work when he was about 5 and he was gone. It was storming out and he gets so scared but always hides in the house. Someone had stolen him from us. I put up fliers all over even put him in the paper. To top it all off it was Friday the 13th. Two weeks later he came home in the middle of the night. He was pretty skinny and the pads of his feet were raw. I nursed him back to health. He was so excited to see mom again and I was to see him We already had one dog stolen from us and never got him back.
One day he was outside and ripped the pad on the back of his leg. I am not sure what it is called. The vet stitched him up and bandaged it. By the time we got home the bandage was off. So the vet put one of those cones on him. Well he sure didn't like that and even managed to get through the dog door with it on. I just took it off. I changed his bandage every day and he was so sweet about it. He just lay there and let me do it. He had that much faith in mom. So anytime he is hurt he runs to me for help.
He loves to talk to me all the time. Sometimes it gets to be to much LOL. But when ever I am sad or blue he is always there. I just cuddle up to this big teddy bear and feel so much better. He sometimes thinks he is a small dog and climbs on my lap. I could never ask for a better soul mate than him.
One thing he loves to do is sit by my daughters bird and watch him. He growls at the other dogs if they come near. It is like his own little baby to him.
I sure thank Roz for showing us which puppy to keep. Oh yeah his dad is a border collie and his mom was a wired haired terrier. You can tell he took after his dad. He has the softest fur. He loves to kiss lots to.
