As simple as it sounds I needed another "little one" in the house. The problem was that my husband and I had been married for over 20 years, our 2 wonderful sons were grown and independant and we could no longer have a child - and we didn't want to birth one either. We discussed adding a furchild to our home for a few years...it was a huge decision to me as I wanted to pick the right doggie to come into our lives and that we could be proper parents to also. We had a kitty named Georgie, whom we loved very much and we knew that another furchild was needed.
One Saturday morning while reading the morning papers and drinking our coffees we spotted an add in the paper for labrador retriever puppies that were near to our neighbourhood and we thought "why not take a look, at the very least". I had done some research and found that both my hubby and I liked the traits of a lab. Once we arrived and saw this beautiful litter of pups, the momma and daddy and the whole family that was raising them, we fell in love and found our "little girl". Eventually we brought home our little Katie and now our life story with her unfolds. Each day is a new adventure, better than I ever imagined! We may consider adding another furbabe in the future!
