Healing Meditation For The First Chakra

First do the grounding meditation.  Now, sit and relax your body.  Relax your body from the top of your head to the bottom of your toes.  Concentrate on your first chakra, bring your thoughts and awareness to this area.  Breathe.  Imagine planting a sacred garden here.  Imagine this garden and these seeds will sprout up with all the people, symbols, animals, and objects that bring you a feeling of support and well-being, people who love you, symbols you cherish, animals you adore, and objects you keep.  Plant your seeds in the red-rich earth of this chakra and watch them bloom.  Watch them bloom into your sacred images.  Feel yourself rich in the support of all these people, animals, and object that nurture you...Breathe...and enjoy the richness of your garden.  If people or objects are appearing who are not supportive, remove them as you would a weed, roots and all- and they pull away like the weeds from a pond- and place them in a compost bin and shut the lid tightly.  Savor the strength and the richness of your beautiful sacred garden.  Stay as long as you like.  When you are finished, slowly open your eyes, take a deep breath in and release.  Journal your visions.

Healing Meditation for Second Chakra

First do the grounding meditation.  Now sit and relax your body and bring your concentration to this place, to this chakra.  Notice (or imagine) water moving around you...notice how this feels.....smooth, warm, calming.  Allow the water to remind you of how it moves, changes, stays strong yet is fluid at the same time...very much so resembling yourself as you move change and remain strong but still flexible.  Allow your the senses to awaken to the flow of the water....how it carresses you and surrounds you.  Breathe.  Let the water carry away any negativity, any worries you have will be carried away by this water.  Relax and notice how the water will baptize you in its powerful medicine, taking away your addictions, your depression...and leaving you a sense of calming peace.  Give yourself about 15 minutes for this exercise and let the water awaken your sensations and pleasures assosiated with this Chakra.  Imagine it moving through you...and around you...carrying away your worries and bathing you in its pleasures and powers.

  • Element~ Fire
  • Helpers~ pysical exercise, biking, walking, hiking, jogging, lay down outside on the ground, spinning

Healing Meditation for Thrid Chakra

First do the grounding meditation as this chakra is very sensitive to grounding.  To exercise this chakra, become aware of your personal power and concentrate on this area and chakra.  Breathe and look around and notice the colors, the things and people who appear in this chakra, and these people will have cords attached.  Keep cords from people who make you feel big and pull the cords of people who make you feel small, to pull a cord, gently tug and it will come away like the weeds from a pond.  Bath this area in bright and golden sunshine, no corner goes without this brilliant light as you seep it all in healing sunshine.  Breathe and notice how much bigger you feel, how stong you are, how right with yourself.  Keep this feeling for as long as you think you need.

Note on personal power and another strengthening exercise:  Personal power is knowing that your life is a series of choices, and that your life happens in direct response to the choices you make.  This means that you don't blame others for what happens to you in your life.  If you blame others for what troubles you and for your decisions, you are giving up your personal power.  Life becomes something that happens to you and not something you control.  Empower yourself.  Take responsibility for your life, take the driver's seat in your life and chose to be stong and powerful.

Fourth Chakra ~ Love Chakra ~ Heart Chakra

  • Keywords~ seat of the soul, love, compassion, hope, trust, healing others and self
  • Location~ center of the chest, middle of the rainbow body
  • Color~ Green
  • FlowerPower~ aloe vera, borage, bleeding heart
  • Stone~ rose quartz (used for love and healing properties)
  • Element~ Air
  • Helpers~ any type of medicine wheel work

Healing Meditation for Fourth Chakra

To make your own Medicine Wheel:  use small stones, flour, sugar, sand, chalk, bird seeds, anything to make a circle in a natural setting where you can sit undisturbed for at least 15 - 30 minutes.  Try and bring some natural objects you cherish with you into the circle for your relaxation and stimulation purposes.  After making this circle, sit inside of it and do your grounding meditation.  Now, feel your connection with the earth as you sit in your circle, noticing the animal's that may be nearby, feeling connected to them in special ways.  You are alike, both breathing the same air, in the same space, going about your day, peaceful like flowing feelings come to you from these animals.  Think about the cycles of life, the cycles of the seasons, birth and death, endings and beginnings; relax and let images come to your mind.  Take note of the animals, people and things that appear as you are in your internal mode and concentrate on the loving peaceful feelings.  Sit in this circle and remember all the love that is in your life, remember times when you were shown love, remember times that you have loved.  Connect yourself with this love, keep your memories of love flowing through you.  Feel your body again connected to the earth and feel the love that flows from it into your inner being.  Open your heart center to the connection that is always there.  Sit in this circle of love for however long you feel the need, connecting to all things.

Fifth Chakra ~ Communication Chakra ~ Throat Chakra

  • Keywords~ communication, self-expression, creativity, truths, inner or higher self
  • Location~ middle of the throat
  • Color~ Blue
  • FlowerPower~ clematic, blackberry, iris
  • Stone~ turquoise (used for it's healing properties and for grounding work)
  • Element~ Sound
  • Helpers~ listen to sounds of nature, outside sounds or taped nature, go for a walk in the park

Healing Meditation for Fifth Chakra

Healing for this Chakra can be done outdoors or in a natural setting.  First, do your grounding meditation and relax.  Take a deep breath in and on the out breath make the sound OM-AH.  Om is the universal sound for meditation and Ah is the sound of life, of breath.  Try it:  Breathe in and on the out breath chant Ommmmmmm-Ahhhhhhhh.  The effect is more potent when chanting in a group.  You can chant to music or drumbeat if you like rather then chanting out in nature.  Do this for 5 - 10 minutes and let yourself feel the energy of chanting. Once you are relaxed and comfortably breathing, listen to the sounds of nature, the animals, the falling of leaves, the babbling of brooks, the barking of dogs, the wind as is blows past your ears.  Nature sounds will soothe you and will bring out your inner truths, and will awaken your spiritual and psychic skills.  To be still enough to listen deeply will stir and awaken you, enabling you to hear what is inside and around you.

The Sixth Chakra ~ The Psychic Chakra ~ The Intuitive Chakra

  • Keywords~ third eye, intuitive, insight, imagination, dreams, symbols, images
  • Location~ middle of the forehead, between your eyes just above your eyebrows
  • Color~ Indigo
  • FlowerPower~ cerato, lotus, mullein
  • Stone~ Lapis Lazuli (used for it's sacred properties for awareness and clarity)
  • Element~ Light
  • Helpers~ journaling, nature activity, meditation, drawing, coloring, self-expression

Healing Meditation for Sixth Chakra

This chakra benefits from dream working and keeping a dream journal is beneficial for this chakra meditation.  After having a dream, take your dream journal and some colored pencils, crayons, or markers and sketch pics from your dream into your journal.  The act of being in nature and working with your dreams will open up new areas for your conscious mind to dive into.  Another way to help balance and open this chakra is to draw a picture of your chakras.  This will give you a physical record of what you see with your imagination.  Give yourself at least 30 minutes for this exercise and let your mind have some freedome with it.  Ground yourself then get yourself in a meditative posture and check out the first chakra.  Notice whether it it open or closed and trust what comes to you.  Breathe...now choose the colors that you feel represent the energy of this given chakra and draw shapes, symbols or anything that comes to mind to express the energy of this charkra.  Color and breathe moving on to each of the chakras one at a time, each in turn checking them out then drawing.  After you have finished this exercise, look back at your drawings and see if anything pops out to you.  You may want to draw them again.

The Seventh Chakra ~ Divine Chakra ~ Crown Chakra

  • Keywords~ crown, psychic development, wisdom, spiritual,
  • Location~ top of your head, crown of your head
  • Color~ Violet
  • FlowerPower~ Lotus, Star Tulip
  • Stone~ clear quartz (used for its communicating powers) smoky quartz (used for its grounding properties) and amber (used for its cleaning properties)
  • Element~ Divine Spirit
  • Helpers~ tree grounding exercise, psychic trance, shamanic journey, meditation

Healing Meditation for Seventh Chakra

It is not reccommended to work with this Chakra until you have opened and worked with your other 6 chakras and they are all in balance.  To completely open and work with this chakra it takes years and years of learning meditations and other spiritual practices, and studying with a spiritual adviser such as a guru, meditation teacher, transpersonal psychotherapist, shamanic practitioner, or Zen master.  Energy practitioners recommend that you only open this chakra after opening the other six.  So, to begin the process of opening your crown chakra, be aware of it, be attentive to this internal tug to connect with spirit.  Practices such as mindfulness, meditations, monitoring your thoughts, and consciously focusing your full attention on whatever activity you are engaged in all make it possible for you to experience the presence of the divine in everything you do.  Prayer is a postive and time-honored technique for engaging this chakra and virtually all spirtitual practices include forms of prayer.  After practicing different techiniques you will choose what kind of prayer works for you.
