A Sight to See
Rowing ashore
My time is mine
A small break
From the ship's mighty grind
I tied my boat
To the rickity dock
Money in my pocket
But must watch the clock
Through the forest
I must tread
To reach the town
To have fun and be fed.
As I walked through the forest
My eyes did turn
To a gathering of some kind
A fire did burn
As I got closer
I could see such a sight!
Of fairies dancing
By the shimmering light
Giggles and laughs
Were all on display
Dancing in a circle
So happy and gay
Oh how I wished to join!
But my presence would intrude
The lovely gala
Might dampen the mood
I tip toed away
And smiled to myself
But heard in my exit
"Good luck stranger, and good health!"
I will never forget
That wonderful sight
Of fairies dancing
On a sweet summer night
