Wiccan Beliefs In 1999 Phyllis Curott, author of Book of Shadows, estimated that there were 5 to 10 million Wiccans in the World. Most forms of Wicca are henotheistic. They recognize a single divine source, and view other Gods and Goddesses as manifestations or aspects of that primal deity. Henotheistic and polytheistic religions have traditionally been among the world's most religiously tolerant faiths. Wiccans follow one of two major divisions within Wicca: | Traditional Wicca: this is secretive and coven based. | | Solitary Wicca: this is open and individualistic. | Many Wiccans believe in the repetitious Transmigration of the Soul. This is the transfer of one's soul after death into another body. This produces a continuing cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth through their many lifetimes. Each life is a learning lesson, and the place of rest between each lesson is called the Summerland. Meditation is often practiced, with Spellcraft being the most common form. Other activities include the celebration of the Sabbats and the Full Moons, the Great Rite which represents the divine creation of all life, and a sacred meal dedicated to the divine. Wicca has a deserved reputation of being highly tolerant of other religions. Wiccans have a saying: "An it harm none, do what you will."
