How to use a mask in psp 7

Dont put the masks in your mask folder ...waste of time
make a folder on comp and put all black masks in there
Do your new  checkerboard in psp
flood fill with white
new raster layer
floodfill with the colour you want mask to be
Bring the mask you want into psp
if the right hand side pallette is fuzzy
go to to to  colours and increase the colour depth to 16 million
then
go to the top of the board
Masks
New
Click on  the *from image*
a box will come up
have the source luminance ticked
in the source window it will be on *This Window*
click on the drop down arrow till you get to the one named the same as the mask in your psp click it click ok
the mask should be on your checkerboard

sometimes you may have to invert it ..so when the box comes up
click invert mask data ... it depends on what you want mask to look like

Any probs let me know
