Marina checking in this morning.
Visited my 'baby' brother this morning. He's in the hospital with a mass in his lung which has us very worried. For you who don't know Freddie, he's MRDD and just celebrated his 50th birthday. He lives in a beautiful center about 1-1/2 hours away from us so it's a bit difficult for us to visit often.
He has been in the hospital with pneumonia a few times so we're hoping this mass is scar tissue, but it doesn't look good. The doctors want to do a biopsy tomorrow morning but his blood pressure is very low so they're keeping him in ICU and keeping him hydrated and medicated.
My poor mother has been on pins and needles, calling every hour on the hour so it's time to get her there to see him in person. We were just down for a visit a week ago and he looked very pale and terribly thin, so there was something going on then. He had a kidney infection and a touch of pneumonia but they caught them early so the anitbiotics helped immediately. The low blood pressure caused them to do a CAT scan to see if he maybe had clots in the lungs and they discovered the mass.
Please say a prayer for him...he's just like a child and doesn't understand what's going on with him. He can't communicate what hurts either and that makes it difficult to diagnose.
This is why I've been in and out so much this week...it's been a whirlwind!
I'll check back in this evening when I return from the trip.
Thanks so much everyone. Hugs, Marina
