Mushroom Stuffed Burgers

1 1/2 pounds hamburger
1/4 cup finely diced onion
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 pound sliced mushrooms
6 slices Swiss cheese

Mix well the first 7 ingredients and form into twelve 1/4 inch thick patties. Melt the butter and saute the mushrooms lightly in it. Place on 6 of the patties. Top with remaining patties and seal edges. Broil or grill to desired doneness. Top with cheese. Serve on toasted buns or as an entree. Serves 6.

Blue Cheese Burgers
Prep: 5 min, Cook: 10 min.
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 tsp. onion salt
  • 1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted

Prepare grill or turn on broiler. Combine first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Stir 1/4 cup sauce into a bowl with ground meat. Shape into 4 patties. Grill or broil 4-5 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Serve on toasted buns topped with remaining sauce.

Bistro Cheeseburgers

Dijonnaise mustard

Lightly shape ground beef into four 3/4 inch thick patties. Lightly brush onion with oil. Place patties and onion on grid over medium, ash covered coals. Grill, uncovered, 13 to 15 minutes or until centers of patties are no longer pink and onions are tender, turning occasionally. Season burgers with salt and pepper if desired, after turning. About 1 minute before burgers are done, top each with 2 cheese slices. Meanwhile spread mustard on top half of each roll. Line bottoms of rolls with lettuce and tomato; top with cheeseburger and onion.

Smoky Burgers



2 slices bacon

1/2 cup (2 oz.) smoked Cheddar cheese, shredded

1-1/4 lb. ground beef

1/4 cup dried bread crumbs

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

4 hamburger buns

1 tomato, sliced

1 red onion, sliced

4 lettuce leaves



1. Preheat grill or broiler. Cook bacon in a small skillet over medium heat,

turning once, until browned

and crisp, about 5 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Crumble bacon into a

medium bowl.



2. Add cheese to bowl; stir. Add beef, bread crumbs, salt and pepper; mix

with a fork until just blended.

Form beef mixture into 4 patties.



3. Grill or broil burgers, turning once, until cooked through, about 5

minutes per side. Place each burger

on a bun. Top with tomato, onion and lettuce.



Serves: 4.

Horseradish Burgers With Havarti Cheese



Add to a large bowl and mix well: 

2 lb. ground chuck

1/4 cup grated horseradish

1/2 bunch fresh chives, minced

Salt and freshly ground black pepper



Shape 8 burgers, cover them, and chill in the fridge while preparing the

grill.



Canola oil



Place a large grill pan on 2 burners over medium-high heat or preheat a gas

or charcoal grill and get it

very hot. Blot a small amount of canola oil on the paper towel then carefully

and quickly wipe the

hot grates of the grill to create a nonstick grilling surface. Grill the

burgers for 8 minutes per side for

medium; 7 minutes if you like your meat rare.



8 slices Havarti cheese*

8 large hamburger buns, split



When the burgers are just about cooked, put sliced of cheese on top of each

and cover the

grill for 1 minute to melt the cheese. Remove the burgers to a clean plate

and then toast the buns,

cut side down for 1 minute.



Serve the burgers with your favorite garnishes.



Garnishes:

Ketchup

Mayonnaise

Mustard

Pickles

Cooked bacon

Lettuce

Sliced tomato

Onion slices



Yield: 8 burgers.



*Havarti cheese is a Danish-type Swiss cheese.

Aloha Burgers

8 pineapple slices
3/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1 pound ground beef
1 large sweet onion, sliced
1 tablespoon butter
4 lettuce leaves
4 onion or sesame seed buns, split and toasted
4 slices Swiss cheese
4 bacon strips, cooked

Drain pineapple juice into a small bowl; add teriyaki sauce. Place 3 tablespoons in a resealable plastic bag. Add pineapple and rotate to coat; set aside. Shape beef into four patties; place in a 8 inch square baking dish. Pour the remaining teriyaki sauce mixture over patties; marinate for 5 to 10 minutes, turning once. In a skillet, saute onion in butter until tender, about 5 minutes. Grill or broil burgers until no long pink. Place pineapple on grill or under broiler to heat through. Layer lettuce and onion on bottom of buns. Top with burgers, cheese, pineapple and bacon. Replace tops; serve immediately.

1 pound ground beef

1 jar mushroom pieces, drained
3/4 cup grated Cheddar cheese
6 slices bacon, fried, crumbled
1 tablespoon dried parsley

Thoroughly combine ground beef, salt, garlic salt, pepper and soy sauce. Divide mixture into 8 equal patties, patties should be thin. Combine remaining ingredients; divide evenly atop 4 patties. Place another patty on top of each; seal edges, may be refrigerated at this point until ready to cook. Cook on grill or under broiler to desired doneness.

1 large onion finely diced
3 tablespoons of minced garlic
2 tablespoons of spicy curry powder
2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon of mustard powder
salt and black pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl until thoroughly combined. Knead hamburger patties into 1/2 pound portions. Cook over hot coals on a grill, dousing burgers with beer as required to avoid excessive flames. Cook until medium rare. Serve with your choice of cheese and other toppings on a toasted bun.

Grilled Burgers with Roquefort Mayonnaise and Barbecued Red Onions

8 ½ Inch Thick Sliced Red Onions

1 1/3 Cups Bottled Hickory Flavored Barbeque Sauce

3 Lbs. Ground Round Beef, formed into 8 4 o 5 inch diameter patties

8 Hamburger Buns, split

Roquefort Mayonnaise (see recipe below)

Prepare barbeque. Brush onions generously with barbeque sauce. Grill until onions are tender, brown and glazed, basting with barbeque sauce and turning occasionally, about 15 minutes. Sprinkle patties with salt and pepper. Grill patties until cooked through, about 5 minutes per side. Grill hamburger buns, cut side down, until lightly toasted, about 2 minutes. Place patties on bottom halves of buns. Top each with 1 onion slice, Roquefort mayonnaise, then bun tops.

Roquefort Mayonnaise

8 Oz. Roquefort Cheese, crumbled

2/3 Cup Mayonnaise

2 tsp. Red Wine Vinegar

1 tsp. Hot Pepper Sauce

Stir all ingredients in bowl to blend.

Red River Burgers

½ Cup Chopped Green Onion or Finely Chopped White Onion
2 Tbsp. Fine Dry Bread Crumbs
2 Red Serrano Peppers, seeded and finely chopped
3 Canned Chipotle Peppers, chopped
½ tsp. Salt
1 Lb. Lean Ground Beef
4 Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns, split
Roasted Red Pepper Catsup, Roasted Garlic Catsup, or Other Purchased Flavored Catsup, optional
4 Tomato Slices, optional
Sliced Red Onion, optional
Red Serrano Peppers, optional

Combine green onion or white onion, bread crumbs, Serrano peppers, chipotle peppers, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add beef; mix well. Shape meat mixture into four 3/4-inch-thick patties. For a charcoal grill, place patties on the grill rack directly over medium coals. Grill, uncovered, for 14 to 18 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the side of a patty registers 160 degrees F, turning once. For a gas grill, preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium. Place patties on the grill rack; cover and grill as above. Grill or toast buns or bread. Serve burgers on grilled or toasted buns or bread topped, if desired, with flavored catsup, tomato slices, red onion slices, and Serrano peppers. Makes 4 servings

Feta Cheese Turkey Burgers
               1 pound ground turkey
               1 cup crumbled feta cheese
               1/2 cup kalamata olives, pitted and sliced
               2 teaspoons dried oregano
               ground black pepper to taste

Directions
1. Preheat the grill for medium high heat.
2. In a large bowl, combine turkey, feta cheese, olives, oregano, and pepper. Mix together, and form into patties.
3. Lightly oil the grate. Place patties on the grill. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, turning halfway through.
Serves 4.

All American Onion Burger



1 pound ground beef

2 tablespoons French's Worcestershire Sauce

1-1/3 cups French's French Fried Onions, divided

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

4 hamburger rolls



Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 10 minutes



Combine beef, Worcestershire, 2/3 cup French Fried Onions, garlic salt and

pepper. Form into 4 patties. Place patties on grid. Grill over hot coals

about 10 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted into beef reaches 160F,

turning once. Top with remaining 2/3 cup onions. Serve on rolls.



Luscious Oniony Cheeseburger Place 1 slice cheese on each burger before

topping with French Fried Onions.

Tangy Western Burger Top each burger with 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce and 1

strip crisp bacon before topping with French Fried Onions.

California Burger Combine 2 tablespoons each mayonnaise, sour cream and

French's Bold n' Spicy Brown Mustard in small bowl; spoon over burgers. Top

each burger with avocado slices, sprouts and French Fried Onions.

Salisbury Steak Burger Prepare 1 package brown gravy mix according to

directions. Stir in 1 can (4 ounces) drained sliced mushrooms. Spoon over

burgers and top with French Fried Onions.

Pizza Burger Top each burger with pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and French

Fried Onions.

Chili Burger Combine 1 can (15 ounces) chili without beans, 2 tablespoons

Frank's RedHot Sauce and 2 teaspoons each chili powder and ground cumin.

Cook until heated through. Spoon over burgers and top with French Fried

Onions.
