Cold Chocolate Syrup Ever Ready
1 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
2 cups hot water
pinch of salt
Mix cocoa and sugar. Add a little of the water to make a paste. Then add
remaining water and bring to a boil. Allow the syrup to boil just 1 minute.
Remove from the heat and add the salt. When cool pour syrup in to a jar
with a tight cover. Cover tightly. If kept in a cool place chocolate syrup
will keep several weeks. When ready to serve add 1 part syrup to 4 or 5
parts milk. Whip briskly with a egg beater.
