Homemade Hershey's Syrup

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dash of salt

Combine cocoa, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Add water and mix until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil. Allow it to boil for one minute, being careful that it does not boil over.

Remove from heat. When cool, add vanilla extract.

Mango Flavored Syrup for Soft Drinks

Recipe Summary

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Yield: about 4 servings

8 ounces mango, peeled, pitted and chopped into large dice (can use
frozen mango, thawed)
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch salt
2 tablespoons orange juice
Club soda or seltzer


In a food processor or blender, combine chopped mango, sugar,
vanilla extract and pinch salt. Puree fruit mixture and add 2
tablespoons orange juice to loosen.

Strain into small pitcher and bowl. Refrigerate until needed.

Mix mango syrup with club soda or seltzer to desired strength for
flavored soft drink.

CHOCO-CINNAMON SYRUP

Makes 12 servings (1 1/2 cups syrup)

3/4 cup honey
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 cup warm water

In medium bowl, blend honey with cocoa powder and cinnamon to form a paste. Blend in warm water. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator.

To serve, stir 2 Tablespoons syrup (or more, to taste) into 8 oz. cold milk.

ORANGE BLOSSOM SYRUP - MaryFran

1 cup honey
1/2 cup warm water
2 Tablespoons grated orange peel
1/2 teaspoon orange extract

In medium bowl, blend together all ingredients until thoroughly combined. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator.

To serve, stir 2 Tablespoons syrup (or more, to taste) into 8 oz. cold milk.

Note: Honey should not be fed to babies less than one year of age. Honey is a safe and wholesome food for older children and adults.
