These are yummy!
Indian Trail Spice Muffins
From the restaurant Indian Trail in Winnetka, Illinois
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
8 Tbs. butter, melted
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup raisins
Preheat oven to 400. Combine dry ingredients. Combine milk, egg, and melted butter. Add to dry ingredients, beating only enough to blend. Stir in nuts and raisins. Fill greased muffin tins nearly full. Bake 20 minutes.
(I haven't tried it with this recipe, but you can cut the fat by substituting plain yogurt or applesauce for the butter.)
