Does anyone keep up with how your local High School football team is doing? The local team here (where my youngest son is a freshman) went undefeated until the 2nd round of the playoffs when they met the team that won the State championship last year and wound up losing a close game. Our team is usually one of the best in the state, having won the State championship 5 out the last 10 years and has been the #1 team in the U.S. twice in the last 10. This year we were ranked #7 in the nation going into the final game ESPN has been filming them since August for a show called "Varsity Inc." that will be airing this Thursday night on ESPN2. Here is a link to the preview of the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMRGVKVdie4
They did a lot of filming around town following the players as they went about their day to day activities along with the Football games and practices. They have had about 20 different cameras filming the games. It is supposed to be similar to that show that was on MTV called "Two a days" about a High School team in Hoover, Alabama. Anyone interested in seeing what life is like in the small southern town where I live, tune in and catch this show if you can. We usually have over 15,000 fans show up at the home games and usually half that many at the away games. We have more people "tailgating" than most college games..lol Here's another link to an article on the USA Today's website where we were voted one of the ten best places to watch a High School game.
That's a neat story Jonsey. That is tough when something like that happens to someone so young.
That is the same type tumor that my Mother-in-law had. This story is the first time that I have ever heard of it travelling beyond the brain when it reoccurs though. It can reappear in other areas of the brain but of all the research I've done and read, they say that a Gioblastoma Multiforme never travels to other parts of body as other types of cancer often do.
