This is gripping our community.
Brandon Crisp, aged 15, disapeared on Canadian Thanksgiving(Oct 13th) from Barrie ON, after an argument over his time online with Xbox.
He headed out on the Oro-Medonte rail trail (the same trail I walk on every day although about 7-8 miles away) after being grounded from Xbox.
Microsoft has just upped the reward by $30,000 .
We have had below freezing temperatures and snow since he disappeared.

I really don't think there will be a good outcome here. The kid has probably fallen prey to an online predator.

I really think online game play should be restricted to 18 year olds and over but how could you effectively monitor that.

Parents must feel terrible. They tried to regulate the problem but in effect drove the kid into the arms of one of these online pervs who should be castrated with a jagged clam shell.

Hopefully the kid will be found safe and sound but the odds are against it sadly.

I didn't realize it was an online thing.  I thought it was one of those things you hook up to your tv and just play like a video game.  You're right Jakey, if it was an online thing.  If not that then it sounds like the weather is going to be a problem.

Jonsey, you can get online and play with and against people from all over the world. And they are having more and more predators using this method to lure their victims. Parent's really need to be more aware of what their kids are doing while online. It's not "snooping", it's just being an aware Parent. If the kid doesn't want you to know what they are up to online then it's time to restrict or cut off their use. Around here, all it takes is removing the power cord from the router and it's like shutting off a switch to the world!

I like Jakey's method of castration! Only thing that I'd add is a bullet between the eyes immediately following the castration!

So sad........this sort of thing happens way too often.  Is that one of those games where you have to pay a monthly fee?

How in the world do you get Microsoft to put up money for a reward?  I'm just glad they did.  I hope Brandon is ok, but it's not looking good, is it?  Especially with the weather being cold.

I see that they believe they have found his body. No cause of death yet determined but it doesn't appear to be foul play. What a shame---all over a video game console.

How sad.  I guess they think it was just being out in the elements, etc. that killed him?
Is that area so desolate that he would get totally lost and not be able to find his way out?

Such a shame and all over a game.  What puzzle's me is a teenager without a cell phone.  That's unheard of anymore.  So sad it had such an unhappy ending.

That is so sad! The poor parents must be devastated.  I am surprised too that he didn't have a cell phone

Lots of local coverage on the news over the last few days. Very sad.
Not a lot of kids and teens in this area have cellphones. Landline phones in Canada are a lot cheaper than in the U.S.
Where he was it is doubtful that a cell signal would pick up anyway. Out of the 4 major cell carriers in Ontario only one has decent signal in this area and it follows the highway corridor.
