Sheet Music Ornament
You need:
cardstock; white poster board; craft knife; straight edge; stylus; double-sided tape; musical note wrapping paper; metallic thread and needle; sheer ribbon.

box pattern
artwork: Susan Blubaugh
Making: Enlarge pattern for box and transfer to cardstock. Cut out to use as a template. Draw lines of template on white poster board. Cut out along outside lines. On wrong side of board use a stylus to draw over inner lines to score. Bend along scored lines to make a box. Secure sides together at lips with double-sided tape. Wrap box with wrapping paper. Tie with sheer ribbon. Using a needle and metallic thread, sew a hanger through a corner of the box. Knot ends together.

Wooden Cache Pot
You need:
wooden box; sandpaper; paint primer; flat and fine paintbrushes; acrylic paint in white, raw umber and black; painter's tape; transfer paper; chalk pencil; musical paper; polyurethane.

Painting: Sand box to create a smooth and porous surface. Paint with primer. Let dry between steps. Paint with two or more coats of white paint. Mix small amount of raw umber paint with white to create a darker shade. Mix darker shade with an equal amount of polyurethane to create a glaze. Paint mixed shade glaze over white. Glaze will be an uneven coat that allows white to show through while giving an antique appearance. Measuring <NOBR>1/2"</NOBR> from top and bottom of box, run a line of tape where marked for black borders. Paint borders and rims of box with black tape. Remove tape. Using transfer paper, transfer musical motifs and words round sides of box. Paint motifs with black paint. Paint box with two or more coats of polyurethane.
