Life Span of a Small Group
Ministry Leader Tip

Every group has a life span, the trick is to find out where a group is at in that span.
Here are a few signs to look for:

Ingrown ?When a group has been together for too long it may view newcomers as intruders.

Community Life Declining ?nbsp;Members become very comfortable with the “sameness,?no longer striving to go deeper in relating with each other. No longer are they challenging each other to look beyond their own wants and needs.

Laziness ?The leader may quit looking for new ways to stimulate growth. The group may no longer want to serve or invite others. The social aspect of the group far outweighs the spiritual and service components of the group.

Next month we’ll talk about launching a new group from a dying one and multiplying your groups.
