Gingerbread Men
 
Everyone in the house will want to create these festive cookie cutouts bursting with the flavor of warm, sweet spices.
Makes 24 cookies
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Chill Time: 60 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes per cookie sheet
 
 
  
 
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup molasses
1 egg
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon McCormick® Ground Ginger
2 teaspoons McCormick® Ground Cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon McCormick® Ground Allspice
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Ground Nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt

1. Cream shortening and sugar with electric mixer. Add molasses and egg; beat well.
2. Stir in remaining ingredients. Dough will be stiff. Cover and chill 1 hour.
3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll out dough on lightly floured cutting board to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut dough with cookie cutter. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Decorate as desired.
